Can you see the Pharisee washing his hands, full of pride?
Hasn't he, in his show-off, kept his honesty aside?
The one who called you for meals had his agenda in mind.
To prove you are wrong, in you some faults he wanted to find
With the cleansing of dishes, you asked, Do you peep within?
More than the dust and dirt, there are abundant scars of sin.
Seeming neat in visage, you told them, You’re like white-washed tombs.
From the pessimism brewing within you, cynicism fumes.
You press on lawfulness, you said to the pundits of law.
You thrust loads on the poor. You do not move even a straw.
Do you think that building tombs for prophets is your pastime?
In you, the pride of holding heavenly keys is in prime
Give away, you said, evincing kindness as a fashion.
Pretence and ferocity should give way to compassion.

A wounded sigh, an expression evincing the pain of hurt,
A bawl in solitude, turbulence of inner emptiness stirs,
When emotions clamor, simmering in angst of regrets,
When mute demeanor, of injured breath, wistfully frets.
Soul desperately aches for a special someone to talk to,
Someone who understands the language of quietude,
Someone who can soothe the trauma, of life gone askew,
Someone who brings to fore, hope of tomorrow anew.
Laments of past echo, moaning upon meadows of life,
Reverberating in heartbreak of grief, bereft of promise,
To rehabilitate devastation of savage emotional storms,
As covenants, deemed eternal, hesitate in broken vows.
Wounded hearts now trace moments of love, sadly lost,
When loneliness dwells in nightmares of past forlorn,
When the abandoned pledges of forever, callously mock,
As muffled wail recalls, life of joy and love, that once was.
Sorrows now seek solace, yearning compassionate voice
To soothe tides of heartbreak, agitating lonesome mind,
As hopes of morrow rekindle in womb of promising night,
When smile-endearing, subjugates cry of wounded sigh.

Donning splendiferous landscapes stretching for miles,
A culture that aptly prides, in bold, welcoming smiles;
A thriving land of islands~ an archipelago evincing awe,
A resplendence of nature, an exclamation of hurrah.
Sandy beaches embrace realms of pristine coastline,
Harboring lush foliage, embodying sublimity divine,
Of marine life, corals, reveling warmth of idyllic clime,
Reminiscent of paradise, of placidity, stilled in time.
Fun loving, amiable, proud tradition extolling grace,
Quaint, yet modern, is the vibrant vibe of this place;
Of museums, antiques, art galleries, buzzing cafe,
Of hotels, casinos, of famed sunsets on Manila Bay.
Luzon, the Visayas, Mindanao~ gems of the blue sea,
Living in tranquility, projecting utter beauty and glee;
Islands of hospitality, homeland of a privileged few,
A magnificent portrait, upon sea-canvas nature drew.
Philippines~ an acclaimed, lauded, pearl of the Orient,
Rich in diverse culture, her allure citizens augment,
Pulsating rhythms of hearts and souls, worthy of praise;
A treasure preserved, revered since the ancient days.

As the snow melts and winter passes away.
On bare twigs, emerald buds start to display.
Set on trees with gem-glazed blooms evincing through.
A sight to behold, a promise of something true.
With each passing day, signs of life grow stronger.
Birds chirp and sing; their melodies are longer.
The sun shines brighter, warming the earth.
Nature awakens in a joyous rebirth.
The air is filled with the scent of fresh flowers.
Butterflies flutter, dancing for hours.
Bees buzz around, collecting nectar sweet
All God's creatures, in harmony, meet.
The dawn of spring offers hope and wellness.
Taking time to ponder life awareness
In this time of expansion, let us rejoice.
And be glad for the blessings of birds' voices.

Paris, paradigm of “je ne sais quoi “-
Great Gallic mystery, almost a law.
Evincing an essence, cannot say how -
Shrug of a shoulder with lift of a brow.
But stroll down a street called La Rue Cadet -
The enigma abates along the way.
Senses succumb to a Confiserie,
Snuggled in tight next the Charcuterie,
A few doors down there’s the Patisserie,
Juxtaposed close to a Fromagerie.
“Je ne sais quoi”, astute tourists still say,
This riddle’s resolved on La Rue Cadet.

If I where but a flower
I would completely overpower
Passion exploding upon slow motion
Burst forth gently, inducing satisfaction
Numbing pain, exuding pleasure, irresistible
Wafting flow, perfumed, appealing to desirability
Inexorable heavenly, stimulating senses, comforting
Hypnotic colours, psychedelic, evincing on persuasiveness
Lose yourself in me, find servility, you so want to be mastered
There is only one sweet moment, give in, indulge inequities
Explore taboo feelings, ride the storm, I’ll set you free
Allow my scent to saturate, permeate, predominate
Don’t try understand, succumb, let it happen
Relax unwind, in my redolent splendour
It cannot be sinful, for nobody cares
Nature does not judge, but gives
Never forget my essence
Have I not touched
Sheer fantasy

When I am reveling in love of family
Toasting virtues of revered friendships
Savoring freedoms that let me be
Luxuriating on sandy white beaches
Endowed with means to live carefree
I wonder if my life is laden in dreams;
When sadness reigns face of anguish
Bearing glumness of stygian grief,
In harmony of the galaxy solace I feel
Purging clouds of bleak melancholy
As moonlit gleam rescues my evening
I wonder if my life is laden in dreams;
When new day glints wondrous valleys
As I bask in hues of resplendent prairies
Admiring nature’s ebullient beauty--
Golden sun beams on tenor of streams
Rushing to rivers and mighty blue seas
I wonder if my life is laden in dreams;
When I rejoice in tranquility of music
Strumming rhythms of euphoric lyrics
Cherishing chorus of happy memories
Turning setbacks into success stories
Comforting soul in misery of defeats
I wonder if my life is laden in dreams;
Or is this divinity’s sacred blessing
Evincing revelation of stellar deity:
There is a star with my name on it.

And all of a sudden my little world plunged into darkness.
The darkest one yet. For me.
I felt like a forsaken feather, of no meaning to any world but my own.
Pierced, drilled, struck hard.
Betrayal. Envy. Hatred.
Terrible torments bothering me from the beginning of time.
I'd done nothing to deserve it. I found no reason to live anymore.
So there I sprawled in the garden, arms on the delicate tufts of weed.
Conjuring up a smile was a hard row to hoe.
Happy times had withered like the weed.
A familiar hand touched my shoulder.
"Have you had dinner?"
I touched it. It was ridged and old. Worn out like no other.
Evincing the many decades of toiling.
It was scarred, but the softest in the world.
Five decades old, but as good as new.
Her kiss was nectar.
I had to live for her.

The Secret of Emotional Mist
Evincing nothing, she remained mute
To nuanced intimations of intimacy.
There was nothing left to conclude but that
The greatest prison is boredom,
The greatest torture --- betrayal.
Thus we parted in the concrete now
Leaving behind that nebulous separation
We had shared almost as if a secret,
Venturing towards precious.
Just as an ill-fashioned keystone
can splinter upon contact if
timing is precise...
Why is it that Time seems to know just
When to strike?
Always.
Leads me to believe
That if Time is not anthropomorphic
it is nonetheless prescient
No. That can't be right...
Time predates and outlives all
(has already outlived us all).
Romantics claim other yet I
Dare gainsay them each and every
Spirit can be broken
like glass
Love become mere bagatelle,
Children, still tuned to magic,
laugh at us as we follow our own
Shades to the underworld of
Wonderment and wonder
How did I ever believe
The intangible was not frangible?

Place the void before me and I will cower
Fill it and I will pulse with awe
Neither pushes me down the path
The winding way, that greenish-yellow place
I once described in my innocence.
I'm mistaken, languishing
Anticipating some outside force,
Propellant, dependent on
Otherness to accomplish bliss
Folly filling my chance.
I wondered, then, if I would live
Laughing at the speed of one
Planetary body, cynical as Iago.
When I found time could hold me
Luck equals opportunity plus more: effort
Place before me a sheet of paper
I will cover it with echoes
Neither real nor imaginary
Ghosts that haunt my happy place
A stain excreted, evincing existence.

A storm is brewing in the azure ether
Somber clouds loom with thunderbolts
Shadows enshrouded small seaside town
Tides crashes with ire against the rocks
Inner turmoil seethes in Lara's addled mind
Racing thoughts haunt through the years
Double personality was an escape from reality
Evincing the forbidden behavior by society
Cloudburst flooded the fishing coast by hours
Paralyzing a town when time seems stand still
Waterspout appeared in the fierce ocean waves
Desolating Cape Fishing Town without mercy
Shiny sun rays appeared in the sky after the storm
As a sign of hope between the desolated scene
Lara came out from the basement used as shelter
The inner and outer tempest concluded synchronously
