Evicts Poems

Premium MemberWoody Woodpecker

Woody Woodpecker happily pecks in his tree-house decent,
mean landlady Meany evicts him, for he doesn’t pay the rent.
So, he plans his antics, stops real estate to sprawl in his forest,
tricks Lance, the harassed lawyer, to gift him a new tree-nest.

Premium MemberIn the Surreal Solemnity of Nature

in the surreal solemnity of nature

	a solemn ant colony
	passes in a funeral-like
	procession
	carrying bits of crumbs
	and one of their own…

	a lone ballooning spider
	ceases his kiting
	and hovers in mid-air…

	hanging from its button
	a chrysalis evicts
	its metamorphosed tenant…

	across the way
	waddling mallards
	halt oncoming traffic…

	in a distant field
	goats satisfy bulging cuds
	with sweet chewed grasses…

	one-by-one the solemn ants
	descend a volcanic-like hole
	of a huge temple-like mound…

	as if descending a grave
	the setting sun slowly sinks
	below the horizon:
	bidding a golden hued adieu….

Premium MemberOnslaught

Grief comes uninvited, like a marauder,
like a one man army charging,
he makes an unexpected onslaught.
A thief in the dark who comes stealthily,
without pausing to seek permission
and settles in the heart like an intruder

His stay is long and tedious.
He eats away our vitality,
sups on our vulnerability,
sucks our life sap and fattens on our gloom.
Like a tenant who hasn’t paid
a single dime as rent, he invites our wrath!
Even under threat, he would never vacate

It is at night, he revels
and makes the most fierce onslaught
He snubs out our sleep, disturbs our calm
Wide eyed, we have to watch
the nasty antics of this tyrant

He drives out all hope,
battles with our cheer,
evicts all positive vibes,
and invades the entire space.

Weaving sticky gossamer threads
to ensnare all happy thoughts
which come our way and like an ugly spider,
he arrogantly dwells in our heart!

Premium MemberSalt On His Wounds

Harold is a model tenant who pays his rent on time each month, despite barely making ends meet. He's suddenly reeling from a perfect storm of unfortunate events. He unexpectedly lost his job and is saddled with outstanding debts. Even worse, he's in frail condition after hospitalization for falling sick with Covid-19. It's bad enough that he's dealing with unemployment and recovering from a serious illness, the landlord evicts him for falling behind in rent payments. No sympathy given whatsoever.

                                                    fallen on hard times
salt rubbed on his bleeding wounds ~
                                                    put out on the streets

Premium MemberSuch Is the Joy

When my day is hard and heavy
And the world’s too much to bear
I simply think of you, my dear
And just the thought, evicts despair.
I never dreamed of such great things:
You refresh like mountain springs.
Such is the joy of my daughter.

When I question my success
All I have to do is pause
And remember you’re my daughter
And my heart leaps in applause.
I never dreamed of such great things
You bless me so I’m moved to sing.
Such is the joy of my daughter.

When I tried to count the cost
Of what it takes to raise a child,
I consider what you’re worth
And I bow my head and smile.
I never dreamed of such great things
You eclipse what sunlight brings!
Such is the joy of my daughter.

I have a simple truth for you,
When you are sad or comfort need
Remember that your dad is near
Though apart, he intercedes.
I never dreamed of such great things
I see angels clap their wings.
All for the joy of my daughter.

Premium MemberFear Not

Failure is refusing to willfully engage, encounter, or face that which we perceive will do us harm.

Effective threats can render timidity, rendering void the realization of our own ability and power.

Activities or conditions otherwise pleasant, may turn violent and increase our heart rates.

Resolutions of compromise often are influenced by the appeasements from the uncivilized.

Never allow fear to control us; but realize that love evicts fear, rendering it null and void.

Opsticles are not road blocks or walls, but tools of training, making me a stronger person.

Terrorists are cowards, intimidators, and afraid of the light wherein lies the real fight

Premium MemberObama Is In My Shower

I have no cell phone
I have no cable TV
How then is the Whitehouse?
Listening in on me?

Well Obama is in my shower
His singing well its getting louder
I think he’s spying on me
Or maybe Michelle’s around the corner

Now Obama has a great singing voice
He sings for the people
Trump evicts them, when lacking any rights
Fascists sure know are to make fake plights

Obama he is listening in
Nice that a president listens to his people
Trump should get out from under the steeple
His golden toilet is not from America

His Russian roots, and his senile boots
Do I have to say with who he is in cahoots’?
Fascists marching down the streets
Thank god they too are not in my shower

That would be the true abuse of Power
