Harold is a model tenant who pays his rent on time each month, despite barely making ends meet. He's suddenly reeling from a perfect storm of unfortunate events. He unexpectedly lost his job and is saddled with outstanding debts. Even worse, he's in frail condition after hospitalization for falling sick with Covid-19. It's bad enough that he's dealing with unemployment and recovering from a serious illness, the landlord evicts him for falling behind in rent payments. No sympathy given whatsoever. fallen on hard times salt rubbed on his bleeding wounds ~ put out on the streets Salt Poetry Contest Sponsored by Anthony Biaanco Date written: 03/02/2021

Your words, Edward, mirror your compassionate heart. The Leslie salt motto - "when it rains it pours" certainly is illustrated in your words! Add my prayers to yours! Blessings my friend.

Oh, how terrible. I didn't think landlords could evict under these circumstances. I hope those who know Harold will do everything they can to help him. Your poem so illustrates the needs of so many during this pandemic. Thanks for sharing this important story.

Some landlords are sympathetic, some aren't, unfortunately. Life is tough out there for some folks. I pray for all the Harolds out there, especially during this pandemic! Thanks for the wonderful visit and comments, L. Milton!:-)

This is so sad. Heartbreaking. So many stories out there like this. They do need recognition because our society needs more empathy. Thank you for sharing :)
