some survivors attempt to annihilate their tragic past
squelching their worst memories
slaying glimpses of hurt as fiercely as they can
eradicating smells and sights that remind them of their abuse
others cannot recall their childhoods at all
having successfully erased it from their memories
so they can tolerate their life

Erasing Hatred
Miracle Man
8/15/2024
We cannot begin to legislate
a person’s heart to change.
Though through our law’s
we may attempt to rearrange.
Because hatred has existed
since the early days of Cain.
Changing a person’s heart
continues to be God’s domain.

Wouldn't life be great
if the magic eraser
could erase all of life's mistakes?
but then again
I wouldn't be here now
without learning from my mistakes

Lust, greed, anger, envy, prejudice,
Malice, fear – all negatives we possess,
Traits we must conquer to be our best,
But how do we start? What's the first step?
Is it to meditate or to reflect?
To journal our thoughts and introspect?
Is it to seek therapy or to connect,
With loved ones, to learn to accept?
The journey's not easy, that we know,
But we must take the first steps to grow,
To acknowledge our flaws, to let go,
Of the negatives that hold us low.
It starts with awareness, a conscious mind,
To recognize when we're unkind,
To ourselves or others, to unwind,
And seek forgiveness, to be refined.
The journey's long, with ups and downs,
But with commitment, progress abounds,
We learn to love and break down,
The walls that keep us safe, but bound.
So, let's take the practical steps we need,
To erase the negatives, to succeed,
With patience, grace, and humility,
We'll find the peace and harmony we seek.

‘Tis the soul that breathes compassion
In each reflection there is joy
Silencing the doubt in the night
Warming the thoughts with tender hope
Whispers of light kiss the spirit
‘Tis the soul that breathes compassion
Stirring laughter, gentle friendship
Grace dances on pleasures so deep
Humble hues, beautiful moments
Rise from the secrets of His love
‘Tis the soul that breathes compassion
We know the wonder of true faith
Spoken on a prayer, breathless
Passions sincere with fingerprints
Flawless impressions of kindness
‘Tis the soul that breathes compassion

Inner conflict manifests fear
Yet we still trauma bond with thought
In web of our making thus caught
How can our anguish disappear
No sooner we meld head with heart
Aligned with the love vibration
Each life breath, a celebration
Behold, demons of mind depart

As you celebrate your birthday,
The beacon has just kissed the sky;
Erasing the dark, blue, and gray,
Letting the white birds sing up high.

Her memory is a breath of laughter
Caressing the night in layers of starlight
Dreams rising on the greenest pastures
Where sun and moon glimmer, winking
While gently comforting, shining
O’er a reflection of yesterday
When she knew life – before old age
Her memory erases the many years
Of silence where her photo delights
In grinning from edges of a dull frame,
eyes twinkling love beneath warm lashes lining emerald legends
Promises of kindness reminding that she was once young
Her heart has broken and been mended by time and God
Who knows her as she is inside - young there in her spirit
Where she shines proficiency
Experience slides across her cheeks
Dimming her eyes with silent tears
Her Spirit survives and thrives - With love that is alive inside
Where she tries to deny that time
Is slowly erasing her sparkle - still, she shines!

I read the words on paper of lead
You came with a rubber eraser and you entered erase
Those the words that were in my head
You stealed my hand from writing still
