So: thinker, “personality” and actor
are looking for a drink.
If two of them are trailers, one’s a tractor.
“Nice counter-top. Real zinc?”
“Don’t ask them stuff. They memorise words
of better men, to spout ’em!”
“And his type feels the need to gather herds
of sycophants about ’em.”
“There’s zinc in every human enzyme. Fact.”
“An enzyme? Qu’est-ce que c’est?”
“A catalyst which helps your gut react
a thousand times a day.”
Creators are the only ones who matter,
just them and only them.
Who grows, can know: who knows can grow (and scatter):
the human apothegm.
“The path from easy living? Slow decline
to reach death valley days.”
“Misfortunes? They’re all relative, and mine
are slight. I’m not from Grays!”
Who hasn’t done his share of Boogie Nights?
All wassail hours are zeros.
Two-thirds of humankind are parasites:
where should we look for heroes?
We have a thing now, called celebrity
that’s not the same as fame:
whatever ape forsakes the tree
can make himself a name.
The world, for entertainment, craves a schism
(Max Baer against Joe Louis):
but who foresaw the Queen of Capitalism
would be a Russian Jewess?

In the whole wide world (and even wider),
I wish you were the happiest spider,
and so, I wish you, sadly, with a sigh,
a helpless fly...so you won't cry.
You can cover him up with slime,
a corrosive, digestive enzyme,
that he may very slowly die,
and I don't have to hear you cry.

You surely can rhyme
Heard this all the time
Poetry is not a crime
It could be sublime
It makes not a dime
Can be done in quick time
Words that somehow rhyme
Pop out from the grime
Slither through the slime
Some of them sublime
One found in Anaheim
Words that love to rhyme
Lemon cake with lime
Atoms with an enzyme
Want to add to this rhyme
Poetry is not a crime

Rock paper scissors,
popular events have seat fillers;
seven minutes in heaven,
a bingo call of legs eleven.
Sweet and sour,
rising dough needs flour;
popcorn watching a movie,
forty years celebrated with ruby.
Smiles and sorrows with nostalgia,
a new year’s resolution mantra;
feeling outside and forever looking in,
hearing that theme alongside shark’s fin.
Prophecies predict fate,
women are told to fear being late;
wolves howl at the moon,
humming just one bar of a tune.
Opposites really do attract,
cliches mock the abstract;
digestion and enzyme,
but do poems have to rhyme?

My heart beats for you
In no circumstance, will I give up
No matter tough or rough and genuine the up
Relation restriction is enzyme to forever blue
No one hears the flimsy rape in the air
The cool breeze wavering the best airflow
Which caress the soft skin to pure sleep
And lure its unwillingness into the dream's world
Just like the selfless free service of the air
The whisper of the heart is a trait of excellence in love

Love narrows your options,
it finds ways
for you to disappear under fingertips.
Some say it’s a chemical reaction,
if so,
I’m an enzyme.

Her restraint ne'er beholden to a closed entity,
but to turn the key that unlocks the shackles
that hinder one’s poetic pen, utmost words
to cascade into the annals of history,
Bard to reveal decadency of a mind from
ravelled stifled panoramic views.
A script of nonconformity that dwells deep within
one’s consciousness, battles with the hostilities of
an academics re-eduction of the tyrant’s expressive
enzyme, that breaks down the very essence of freedom.
A need to call upon the phoenix of ancient times, and
from the flame of one’s liberality penetrate the
barriers of one man’s mindset, only when birthed
within and lived it, can the truth of understanding
be apparent to those that reside outside the bubble
of totalitarianism's ambiguity.

Is there a reason I love rhyme?
When critics now think it a crime:
"Rhymed poetry's not worth a dime,
It's as old-fashioned as ragtime,
Free verse poems are most sublime."
Yet I'm still rhyming all the time.
Is there a reason I love rhyme?
True rhymes are hills I love to climb!
I do enjoy free verse big-time,
but modern critics I'll not mime.
I don't endorse their paradigm,
and find it sour as a lime.
Is there a reason I love rhyme?
It's in my every cell's enzyme;
my sun, my rain, my every clime;
my mint, paprika, sage, and thyme;
my juggling act, my pantomime.
You ask, who's going to chime for rhyme?
I'm.

Dedicated to Robert Lindley
He is a singer of the dark. This dark
made of the blood he shed over a rhyme;
of the hell's cavities that keenly hark
to echo of his words; of space and time
he leads me through - this dark is the enzyme
which a true art grows from, the watermark
of talent, the reality that I’m
calling in Russian [nastay'aschi mrak]*.
Abandon hope all ye who enter here**:
his way of darkness is not for a mere
mortal.
* (rus.) real darkness

She did not fully understand
Certainly not the promise-land
Charming until the big date
She wondered at her fate
Conversation was a bit blue
Her feelings were all askew
The culprit was a slime
Was he a known enzyme?
She caught herself in time
Which preserved her bliss sublime

If I could be anything, I would be an enzyme.
Grown in dandelions as they are plentiful, and free,
And unappreciated now by some.
Maybe also I could be in clover.
A healing enzyme.
My catalytic action would be simply this.
I would retrain cancer cells to swallow,
Digest and eliminate themselves.
On a regular basis, daily, almost before
They got started.
So cancer would be eliminated by one drop
Of dandelion tea. That would be all that would
Be needed, and it might also be all one could
Stomach.
If I was an enzyme.
