Premium MemberA Host of Things To Celebrate

We celebrate a host of things
Which true to form awareness brings
Us closer to our heartfelt past
By crafting memories that last.

In some things we participate,
Like birthdays we enumerate;
And, some things we commemorate,
As lives well lived we consecrate.

For some things we pay our respects -
Those things that cause us to reflect
On Life's great mysteries and gifts
That bring us joy - our souls uplift:

For Sun's rays "rising" in the east
And sunsets muted hues released.
For streams cascading well-worn stones -
Bucolic scenes in earthy tones.

For crops that grow in furrowed fields -
Fresh scent of grass the sickle yields;
Flowers that shrug off winter's grasp
And trees that leaf in spring's recast.

For artists' own artistic flair
That song and dance and painting share;
For writing prose and poetry -
Expressive creativity.

The special bond our feelings bring
To all things worth remembering.
Yes, there are things to celebrate
That through the years will resonate.

Rapido

"Rapido"

walks on water fast
salty trinity
soul heeling

a pearl reflects wisdom
on indigo see, the mirror mapped
dancing with diamonds

the light shows
characters
rippling mirages

compasses peppered
rapt in black
and blue velvet

soon arrives the Morning
like a twin, golden apple
rolling before us

Apollo
alighting upon a floating chariot
racing white horses

a storm
is approaching
harnessing the tornado

petulant Horseman
Apollyon, hit lists,
in raised fist

riding a magic carpet

(LadyLabyrinth / 2023)

heeling.
healing.

list (nautical).
list (enumerate).

Rapido 60.

Summer Rain

The parched ground
And blistering heat
Cicadas screeching for aqua
The burning skies
Blinding eyes
Pastel colours
And the hazy wait for reprieve

Then a drop
The spatter on the skin
The second in the shoulder
Third on the spin
The fourth on the face, sixth, seventh and eighth
Till there are too many to enumerate

The rolling rumble in the distance
Climbing to a thunderous roar
Releasing into sheets of rain
The smell of the earth's petrichor
Quenching it's thirst
In an effort to reimburse

Hazy colours
Wide eyed
Cloudy skies
Frogs feeling the aqua
The water blistering the streams
On the wet ground

A flash of light
Cloaking the sight
In black and white
Searing the memory into your eyes

After a time, the steam is gone and the roar no more
The rain falls only under the flickering streetlight
And into the black night

Then, there! under the yellow light
The outside resplendent in the moonlight
So, You say to yourself under the covers
April showers bring May flowers.

Investment In Heaven
Written: by Miracle Man
2-20-2020

My finances never deprive me of needed sleep,
though thoughts of collecting, find me somewhat beguiled.
Because I enumerate blessings, not counting sheep,
In Heaven you'll find my retirement plan is now filed.

Proactively I check on its growth each Sunday,
Its invested in a place where it can't be stolen.
A location where no sin will be found on display,
where's no depreciation and balance found swollen.

Proverbs Chapter 3
9 Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:
10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.

Pet Hates

 "I'm trying to"

Ever text, email or call your best friend?
Why are they forever giving me these
dubious defenses?
"I'm trying to......(fill in any activity).

I suggest do not answer the person at all.
Especially if it's a close friend or relative.
Ah, but that pet hate , throws me against
the nearest wall.

I can't even enumerate the excuses given.
Some turn me purple and supremely livid.
I don't fault the person just ye olde internet
And the funky bad manners delusion it sets.

I don't think even Poetry Soup could hold
all the excuses.
It's just a way of vile internet pretense.
Cold to the core, and pure affectation.

Scudding
(The act of moving along swiftly)
Written: by Tom Wright
4/28/2018

Today, I enumerate my links in the chain of time,
And, as always, feel compelled to recall God’s blessings.

I’m a vessel, doing my best, to traverse life’s unsettled waters,
Any resiliency mustered, is consumed in a groundswell of change.
My days are packed with vagueness, and anxiety gnaws at me.

I hold fast to things which enhance my days,
But most are crammed with pipe dreams or flashbacks,
And euphoric days are a mirage that starves my nostrils.

Most days I feel like an insignificant smudge,
Occupying space and seeking God’s help to adapt;

I’ve Worn No Cape
By: Miracle Man
11/19/2018

Now that coziness is gone,
I view my past as a changing story filled with memories.
Most have the lifespan of a shared kiss
From a face I no longer recognize.
Others became a memory that’s flown from existence;

I can’t enumerate the sidewalk cracks I’ve stepped over
That caused stumble but nary a fall.

I’ve allowed words to betray my thoughts,
For once spoken they became whispers in the breeze,
Blowing like crumpled paper
Before coming to rest in winters dead grass.

You and Me

Before you came into my life
It was hard to live alone at night
At exactly two am I heard the doorbell rang
You walked towards me holding guitar and sang

Mountains and river, forest and lake
Love is how we enumerate it
Her skin tantalizing my very own eyes
Slowly turning my body in a frost of ice

           Words form each others heart
You and me against all odds
Even we are very very far
I’ll be watching you from the stars

Two Trains

The railroad ride was smooth as silk
Though it was ten degrees.
The train was just a minute late –
No time to feel the freeze.

We passed through towns of snow-topped homes
While sitting warm and snug,
The ticket taker’s attitude
As friendly as a hug.

But at Grand Central, we got off
And had to make a switch
To ride the city subway;
Let’s enumerate each glitch:

The crowded platform packed with people
Cursing the delays;
The trash-strewn tracks accruing more
On which the rats will graze.

Announcements stating that all trains
Are locals, not express;
Yet finally, we cram on board
As all those bodies press.

We go one stop and then the doors
On certain cars won’t close.
We’re ordered off and stumble out –
Well, that’s the way it goes.

We grab a cab and make it home
And think of those two trains –
Whatever calm the rail provides,
The subway quickly drains.

Premium MemberGod's Love

In my quiet time I meditate!
In my happy mood I appreciate
God's love ever unceasing
His mercies ever enduring!

In my joyful mood I celebrate!
In my thankful mood I enumerate
God's love and kindness
Abiding in us in their fullness!

In my time of trouble I demonstrate
In my time of persecution I remonstrate
God's love and goodness
Abiding in us in their wholeness!

From God's love nothing can us separate!
Good or bad times are too effeminate
God's love is forever sure
Dwelling in all who trust in him!

No Blessing Is Not Counted

N-o blessing is not counted
E-ven if misfortunes come by;
S-ound health makes wealth
T-wenty-seventh day of July.
O-ne grace after another comes from heaven above;
R-eturn to God and thank Him for the greatest gift of love.
E-arly in the morning,
C-ount the food that we eat;
H-ome and our family
A-re all Almighty's treat.
N-ew friends and new songs are not taken for granted;
O-pen your eyes and enumerate, no blessing is not counted.

Premium MemberHymnal Homes

Hymns above the leaves,
Only my sadness renounced.
Muffled miracles abroad.
Everything goes without saying.
Sliding into happiness,
Whooshing into wonder.
Eviscerate all logic.
Enumerate all grace.
The stars can't sing your song enough times.
However many times you may doubt,
Others ignite from your flicker.
Mountains carve homes for you
Everytime your praise is sung.

Cycles of Life

The refrain of the little birds
Breaks silence of the night
Hours of bleakness is dispelled
As on the horizon, the sun gives light

The vivid green, soon gives way
To a golden yellow leaf
Just another reminder of autumn
To hot summer days, it gives relief

The lonesome sound of the katydid
Ushers autumn to our door
Magnificent colors will appear
Painting beauty from mountain to shore

Cycles, - appear in so many ways
Various similitudes they enumerate
The brevity of life is brought into view
As on this fact, we meditate

Mankind is but a vapor or a flower
God's Word gives this metaphor
We're here today and gone tomorrow
Death is a stalking predator

The picture is not one of gloom
To those who have heeded His call
A new beginning it affords
Eternity ends the cycle for us all

Premium MemberNight

Although the night is no longer young
Beauty decorates the evening sky
Captured is my heart by stars far flung
Deep upon a dark canvas they fly

Enumerate each constellation
Find all galaxies humming in space
Generate a census destination
His words spoken creates each trace

Isn't the creation wonderful
Just look around each day and night
Keep those eyes wide open for the plentiful
There could be one grand delight tonight
