Pet Hates

Pet Hates "I'm trying to" Ever text, email or call your best friend? Why are they forever giving me these dubious defenses? "I'm trying to......(fill in any activity). I suggest do not answer the person at all. Especially if it's a close friend or relative. Ah, but that pet hate , throws me against the nearest wall. I can't even enumerate the excuses given. Some turn me purple and supremely livid. I don't fault the person just ye olde internet And the funky bad manners delusion it sets. I don't think even Poetry Soup could hold all the excuses. It's just a way of vile internet pretense. Cold to the core, and pure affectation. ****Poem entered into Kevin Shaw's Contest*** " It Really Gets Me Going."

PS. Just so you know..I have been a protestor I guess most of my life. It's led me to refuse to ever be a "sheeple". Protested the Vietnam War, etc and any injustice. We are all worth something far more than technology dictates.,I am not one to toe the line. I see when people hurt and can't blow it off.PR

Yo! There is a Contest for this, David, but I cannot locate it. I am one of those oddballs who live in crude and rude times, but I am far from accepting such unmitigated rudeness. Others are far saner! Or, So they think? I don't think slaves dug having masters~ as "oh it's the times we live in." PR

Whoa! Hold the ponies! Panagiota is on a roll here. And it is scaring me! When I hear a child say "I am trying" I say, "stop trying and do it."

LOL...am not scaring you.Just got over Mr. Cold! We are on the same page about "trying". I used that word just now in my comments, see! Duh.. Even adults say I am trying. I just ask them if they are going to do it or not.same with children. Try is a word to slip out of a promised conclusion. I did my best is stronger than I tries. Panagiota.
