Best Enumerate Poems

The Word

In the beginning was the word
Before that, no noun, no thing
Then no sound was ever heard
And no passing bell would ring

So therefore no adjective was needed to describe it or deplore it
No preposition required to be positioned right before it

No verb to do something to it or say what act it was pursuing
No need for an adverb to describe how well or badly it was doing

Since not even one noun existed, conjunctions would have been redundant
There were no things to act on and to move across the face of the fundament

So the first word there had to be - was BE, and that was the very first in existence
And from Genesis and Eden to Elsinore, it has had a remarkable degree of persistence

Now, in the Oxford English Dictionary which is venerable institution
There are 171476 full entries of words (2nd edition) all capable of elocution

Of these, about one seventh are verbs, therefore there must be around 24497 give or take, to enumerate all action
And that should be enough for even the most garrulous to get some satisfaction

This is a limited calculation and I wouldn't want to be tied down to it
We can be more free in our estimates so while we are about it, we might as well do it

It seems that once BE had been exercised, the dam broke and words poured out as from a cornucopia.
And verbs would soon exist in an abundance enough to carry you from here to Ethiopia

Except in the culture of youth where it appears this multitude has been reduced to the deplorable "was like"
To them I am tempted to say: "Learn some real verbs"; OR I would employ a phrasal such as
 'On-your-bike!'

The possibilities are now endless particularly if you include the phrasal
Giving us enough elan vital to at least maintain a metabolism basal

So to whoever first said BE, whether God or someone with similar propensities
though another name or description:
I say Well done! I couldn't in my wildest dreams with a wish to create a rich life and culture,
have produced a better prescription

Vague Enumerations

My top ten will always be my fingers and toes.
One more makes eleven if you’re counting my hose.
Oops, was that a Freudian typo, I meant my nose.
Without my top ten, couldn’t walk or flick off, if I chose,
let alone spray water on my favorite red rose.
Perhaps I could think of more if I juxtapose.
But then the numbers would inflate when my list grows.
I’m trying my best to enumerate with prose,
getting back to the theme before my mind forgoes.
Maybe I’ll set it right after I repose,
easier to see when I’m not wearing much clothes.
Too late, said I, as I continue struggling to compose.
I feel like a lawyer who is about to depose.
Glad I’m not a doctor known to misdiagnose.
Now that you have read this, I’ve something to propose.
The run around I gave you had nothing to disclose,
cept maybe wishing it was in polyphonic prose!

POETRYSOUP HEROES

Heartstrings of poems, I post and post,
I wonder who will ever be engrossed.
I, like a seed blown to a fertile land,
hoping as days roll by, I will also glow...
---------------------------------------
No longer a baby or a child,
I, a beginner to PoetrySoup, smiled
to his short verses, gentle rhythmic words
my imagination and wisdom was spurred.

--Paul Callus--

From Malta with heartfelt care,
a busy honey beau to his work and family
but he a care bear, his time he shared,
hence agonies I have many a time atrophies...

Popped from the blue, here comes a Belle,
She is dropped by heaven and onto my pages she dwell.
To her sponsored contests, my hunger to poetry swelled.
Bit by bit, my writing began to sweet-yell.

--Debbie Guzzi--

From the country where the Liberty stands,
her writing prowess, I forever say roses grand--
rich of fragrance, flowing humbly with grace...
Her lace hurricane flair often leave me amaze.

I do not have a magic. I don't hypnotize
but He said to me, I have one unique style
to each and every poems he reads from mine
plus an irresistible smile he was magnetized...

--James Fraser--

He has more than an Eilean Donan Castle lure,
his heart and mind a brave survivor couture.
When our paths crossed, our lives take one detour--
thousand miles apart yet our hearts sing songs so pure.

Dear readers, I so want to enumerate more
for truly in PoetrySoup heroes roar...
I hope you didn't snore or I didn't bore,
but I swear in this site so much is in store.

Rapido

"Rapido"

walks on water fast
salty trinity
soul heeling

a pearl reflects wisdom
on indigo see, the mirror mapped
dancing with diamonds

the light shows
characters
rippling mirages

compasses peppered
rapt in black
and blue velvet

soon arrives the Morning
like a twin, golden apple
rolling before us

Apollo
alighting upon a floating chariot
racing white horses

a storm
is approaching
harnessing the tornado

petulant Horseman
Apollyon, hit lists,
in raised fist

riding a magic carpet

Premium Member Night

Although the night is no longer young
Beauty decorates the evening sky
Captured is my heart by stars far flung
Deep upon a dark canvas they fly

Enumerate each constellation
Find all galaxies humming in space
Generate a census destination
His words spoken creates each trace

Isn't the creation wonderful
Just look around each day and night
Keep those eyes wide open for the plentiful
There could be one grand delight tonight

A Trip Through Winter

Even in our winter season the soul of the coming year bursts through hard thick frost,
Even in high piles of purest white snow, buds grow for our future of the next summer,
Blow flowers stir and seeds my mind with flowers of the rarest beauty of our nature,
It is a miracle of this world a characteristic of not understanding natures jigsaws.

Every leaf every little flower and grain will enrich the earth to sustain its many needs,
It would take too long to enumerate all the flowers, buds the insects in each new year,
A Christmas rose expands its white chalice undaunted by the sharpest of crystal frosts,
It blooms amid overwhelming wreaths of snow and the hardest ground but it never fails.

In the valleys of high mountains the ground is covered with these hardy beautiful flowers,
January has a dear old favorite and my old friend the snowdrop a delicate mighty force,
White aconites, the white leaved colts foot flower grow in the milder months of our winter,
In the woods and hedges insects begin to recommence active life under barks of old trees.

Every advancing day presents us with a fresh and cheering symptom of a clean new spring,
Hedge sparrows and the thrush begin to sing, wren pipes lay, we see a golden crested wren,
Blackbirds whistle and linnets gather and little lambs appear in cold snow covered fields,
The house sparrow, a bold courageous bird, renews his brisk chirping a challenge to cold.

So when we look through white frosted panes of spun glass and look across winter countryside,
When we moan we are bored but it is too cold to take a walk or play in the clear open air,
When we come home from working and complain that their feet are wet, cold and badly wrinkled,
Nature is busy getting her armies together to make meadows wonderful and glades beautiful.

There is no season without a witness of a higher greatness which I cannot understand,
In the cold iron depth of winter nurtures the whole vegetation of our future summer,
Like germs of faith and hope in the heart of man that cannot and must not ever fail,
Little buds grow on a bough, corn peeks from frozen earth, nature has moved a mountain.

Hymns above the leaves,
Only my sadness renounced.
Muffled miracles abroad.
Everything goes without saying.
Sliding into happiness,
Whooshing into wonder.
Eviscerate all logic.
Enumerate all grace.
The stars can't sing your song enough times.
However many times you may doubt,
Others ignite from your flicker.
Mountains carve homes for you
Everytime your praise is sung.

Cycles of Life

The refrain of the little birds
Breaks silence of the night
Hours of bleakness is dispelled
As on the horizon, the sun gives light

The vivid green, soon gives way
To a golden yellow leaf
Just another reminder of autumn
To hot summer days, it gives relief

The lonesome sound of the katydid
Ushers autumn to our door
Magnificent colors will appear
Painting beauty from mountain to shore

Cycles, - appear in so many ways
Various similitudes they enumerate
The brevity of life is brought into view
As on this fact, we meditate

Mankind is but a vapor or a flower
God's Word gives this metaphor
We're here today and gone tomorrow
Death is a stalking predator

The picture is not one of gloom
To those who have heeded His call
A new beginning it affords
Eternity ends the cycle for us all

You and Me

Before you came into my life
                         It was hard to live alone at night
        At exactly two am I heard the doorbell rang
You walked towards me holding guitar and sang

          Mountains and river, forest and lake
                   Love is how we enumerate it
   Her skin tantalizing my very own eyes
Slowly turning my body in a frost of ice

           Words form each others heart
            You and me against all odds
              Even we are very very far
I’ll be watching you from the stars

Censorious Ignorance

by Michaelw1two

 Intonate a spirited debate,
 explore the subtlety of doubt;
 compassionately seal one’s conjugation,
 inspire pairing’s deity;
 self-survivals issue mute,
 its sequella, each by chance deter;
 question quandary’s quenching quick,
 empyreal reality’s oddity.

 Convoke, thoughts sum in totality,
 reveal in this your fears;
 coetaneous mindsets mimic those,
 all secrecy, please set free;
 excitatory, proves that probe,
 it profiles everyone sincere;
 solipsism, revealed fantasy,
 each life, reflecting in soul confrere.

 Partisan secrecy, in hide laid bare,
 admits its failing bent;
 bluster slurries thrive,
 behind thin veil, truths foment lament;
 taciturnly, on wings of change,
 ideal belief, impulsion illuminates;
 diabrotic, one’s choice of drink,
 inscience, engineered ab initio.

 Thereunto, the future blind is placed,
 upon censorious dais;
 nonconscious essence, laced within,
 every minds object of desire;
 imperatives, those of nature’s own,
 establish trust in broad ideas;
 jeu d’espirit, exemplify these,
 opposition, inflates derisory odds.

 Absquatulate, this lividity,
 living’s frisson spiraling enmity;
 distensioned life, holds this stress,
 future’s truth remains unmet;
 positioned concept challenged all,
 its touch does one enumerate;
 propositus, friend by friend employ,
 mind, most precious entity.

In my quiet time I meditate!
In my happy mood I appreciate
God's love ever unceasing
His mercies ever enduring!

In my joyful mood I celebrate!
In my thankful mood I enumerate
God's love and kindness
Abiding in us in their fullness!

In my time of trouble I demonstrate
In my time of persecution I remonstrate
God's love and goodness
Abiding in us in their wholeness!

From God's love nothing can us separate!
Good or bad times are too effeminate
God's love is forever sure
Dwelling in all who trust in him!

Enumerate Particle

Enumeration of Thought, within my entire being, as if to ascertain an exact molecular particle; of selectively predisposed choice.

Pre-being molecules particulate, if as an exact enumeration of my entire dispositional thought selection.

Predisposed ascertainment of an exact choice within select molecular thought particles.

Throughout my entire thought article, parts of moles file exact lines of rapid choices.

Iron lung overcasting dark heart within particles of mispronounced enunciation.

Thoughts drown an innocuous man, found pondering about an empty tide pool.

Tad poles think about life above all else when thee light shows its radiant rays of ascertained enumeration.

Aspired by inspired guy, hidden within lies between the walls.

Mirrors talk back when the glass is turned inside out beside wind blown sand falls of intrepid insidiousness.

Wind falls into sand mirrors imaginary coastal vocabulary.

Sand falls talk through blown glass wisp chandeliers that are incomprehensibly mortal beings, within thinkers' thought.

One being, willingly faces molecular particles' windfall's evaporate, through profound memory that trepidatious thought ascertained sand blown mortality.

An innocuous man found pondering about an empty tide pool.

Aspired by an inspired guy, hidden between lying walls.

Thinking about life above all else, when right light reveal its radiant rays through profound memory that thought insidiousness could turn glass inside out.

Enumeration of Thought, within my entire being, as if to ascertain an exact molecular particle; of selectively predisposed choice.

Two Trains

The railroad ride was smooth as silk
Though it was ten degrees.
The train was just a minute late –
No time to feel the freeze.

We passed through towns of snow-topped homes
While sitting warm and snug,
The ticket taker’s attitude
As friendly as a hug.

But at Grand Central, we got off
And had to make a switch
To ride the city subway;
Let’s enumerate each glitch:

The crowded platform packed with people
Cursing the delays;
The trash-strewn tracks accruing more
On which the rats will graze.

Announcements stating that all trains
Are locals, not express;
Yet finally, we cram on board
As all those bodies press.

We go one stop and then the doors
On certain cars won’t close.
We’re ordered off and stumble out –
Well, that’s the way it goes.

We grab a cab and make it home
And think of those two trains –
Whatever calm the rail provides,
The subway quickly drains.
