Fury for the masses
a static hum blares
through the digital ether
fingers swipe
left then right
hearts race
pixelated chaos
unfurling black flags fly!
An electric storm
of fury?
a parade of images blinding
a pixel
a pulse
a scream?
shadows of war loom large?
A darkness-play
on the walls of our minds!
Fragments of lives
broken and whole?
Spiraling through
glassy screams
each face a mask!
Fury for the masses?
Red hats dance n chat
dead eyes wide...
A wild dance of resistance
to reclaim all our hearts
From the void...only
Fury for the masses...
a Digital Haze!

When the lights flicker,
And the silence can remember
That haunting storm,
who came in September.
When the dark stills the night,
And rain dims the fires,
Burning through a soul who knows
Feelings stirred by desires.
When the gentle of a smile,
Floating soft on the linemen’s face,
Sent to bless away the fears,
Stirring hearts to seek God’s grace.
When all is said and done,
And the lineman’s race is run,
We can say that love has won,
Because his kindness shines like the sun…
And, yes, oh yes, with purpose and drive,
He places a sparkle in so many eyes,
Those who know, we really will survive,
Because, in time, we know these guys…
Linemen, who bring the lights to life,
Linemen, who still the fears who abide,
Linemen, who take away the darkest strife,
Linemen, who just take it all in stride…
I’m so thankful to God above,
For the glory of such sweet love,
For these days, I’ll make the most of,
Because, these linemen, I’m so in awe of!

There was once a spark in Heaven's sky
generating an electric storm painted an angel
it coloured a rainbow within the sky mystery of the east
a bridge where the eyes walked on filled with warmth
The breath of a thousand winds held silent surrender
so clear was the promise made Unto God Himself
it begged for Mercy thanking Him for such a gift
I found a love so great it worshipped with salted drops
forming the most precious pearl inside a shell
it burned like acid devoured with the pain of not knowing why you deserted the truth
Deeply engraved there stands words spun by the man
an oath once taken can never be broken welded to his nature
never really knowing the future had became mapped in a journey
it went into darkness calling your name over and over again
in the Light of forgiveness I thank you with all my heart
we all hold out for Hope in finding Paradise one day within a storm

The air was metallic,
it had the taste of long spilled blood,
the smell of copper pennies.
A red-eyed sky prowled through bare trees
wind-smears sizzled over steel pylons,
a galvanic hissing ignited unseen frights.
Heat and cold were deranged
by magnetic layers of madness,
there was a fizzle of white noise in the hedgerows.
Fractions of atmosphere separated,
flew away.
Feral conditions ransacked the horizon.
Experts talk of systems
and patterns,
explanations always come
after the land is mauled,
hearts wounded.
No one saw it leave,
it did not move on
it moved inward to rattle flesh and bones,
it remained as zones of uncertainty
while day and night grew weary of each other.
After the electric storm
cats were found in other parts
alive
but forever haunted by daylight.

I lay in my frozen bed, teeth ruthlessly chattering.
Intense darkness made me rise and stretch a bit.
The useless coverlet hardly warmed my shoulders,
As from outside thunder boomed and rattled panes.
An electric storm evolved into terrible lightening,
Flashes that threatened destruction, yet I looked out.
Icicles hung along the wires and ledges all around.
Down below the bora-like gale even uprooted some trees.
Not a vehicle was in sight, all returned to their homes.
But what is home without heat? Might as well try an igloo.
It’s warmer and full of shelter there I’m sure.

Boom.
With a bang and clap of electric noise,
We hide.
Unfamiliar to the evolving world outside of our covers,
We remain.
Our clenched fingers never allow for our cozy shield to breathe,
We wait.
The air is suffocating and the temperature rises with each increasing deep exhale,
We fear.
Pounds of an angry fist threatens imaginary blissfulness and blank minds become clouded,
We suspect.
Another round of adrenaline pumps through the body and sweat drips down distraught faces,
We worry.
The unknown holds our sanity hostage patiently waiting for the electric storm to subside,
We stay.
Fearful of a noise that unroots the next plan for our lives,
We linger.
Boom.

My Dear Death,
Oh Death, why do you taunt me so?
Why do you toy with my heart?
My dear Death, why do you hurt me?
Suffocating me with your eyes of fire,
Crushing me with your heart of ice.
Slowly dragging me down into your kingdom of darkness and decay.
You wish for my butterfly heart to stop beating,
My warm, pink flesh turn grey and cold.
My silvery, lively eyes lifeless and dull.
Your love is sick and twisted,
Mine pure and innocent.
My dear Death, how you tempt me so.
With your words, like a sweet lullaby.
Your smile, as bright as an exploding star.
Your touch, like an electric storm on a hot, humid summer night.
You make it hard to resist you,
You seduce me.
Captivate me.
My dear Death, I’m falling.
Falling into the darkness that you are so found of.
The darkness crawls onto me.
Overcoming me,
Taking over.
The eternal sleep whispers sweet nothings in my ear.
Claiming me,
Taking me closer to you.
Oh, my dear Death, now I am dead.
Forever in the ground.
Forever in the darkness.
Forever with my love,
Forever with you.

Back away if you want silence;
Loud! I'm louder than the
loudest clap of thunder
Fiery lightening lights up the
sky;
A shield
The storm my protective cover.
Back away if you want calm,
Charged! I'm filled with the
energy
Of this electric storm
The power ringing in the air
My shield Singed
I am charged, I stand strong.

Killing God
I worked at a drive-in theatre
years ago
before they died.
not a bad job
lots of movies.
Some tedious tasks,
I had to check every speaker in the field.
Turn up volume,
listen,
move to next post.
Turn up volume,
listen,
move to next post.
Turn up volume,
listen,
move to next post.
500 times.
That day the light was yellow, electric,
turbulent clouds roiling ominously.
I stopped,
transfixed.
Staring at the half-brick in my hand.
Where the hell did that come from?
I looked around, bemused.
Five rows back at the edge of the field
was a small pile of rubble.
I smiled gently,
perhaps a little wickedly.
Of course.
In the middle of a field of metal posts,
an electric storm brewing.
If lightning strikes,
if there is a judgemental god,
I will meet that prick
armed with a half-brick.
