Boom: a Noise of Fear

Boom.
With a bang and clap of electric noise,
We hide.
Unfamiliar to the evolving world outside of our covers,
We remain.
Our clenched fingers never allow for our cozy shield to breathe,
We wait.
The air is suffocating and the temperature rises with each increasing deep exhale,
We fear.
Pounds of an angry fist threatens imaginary blissfulness and blank minds become clouded,
We suspect.
Another round of adrenaline pumps through the body and sweat drips down distraught faces,
We worry.
The unknown holds our sanity hostage patiently waiting for the electric storm to subside,
We stay.
Fearful of a noise that unroots the next plan for our lives,
We linger.
Boom.
