Down Feather Poems

This Autumn Eve

Wishful collections
pillowed goodbyes
Starlit reflections
glow in the eyes

Soft curtain quivers
sift on the breeze
November shivers
flow through the trees

Down feather laughter
full moon delight
Here ever after
soaring in flight

Red velvet slippers
dreams on the way
Big, little dippers
out on display

Comet tail shimmers
weary the feel
White candle glimmers
add the appeal

In bed you’re falling
slumber to weave
Sleep comes a calling
this autumn eve

Snowflakes On Eyelashes

~
Crisp evening breezes
neath gray flannel skies
Stardust reflections
in baby blue eyes
~
Snowflakes on eyelashes
icicle drips
Flurrying kisses
‘pon enchanting lips
~
Moonbeams enticing
a beautiful smile
Down feather whispers
melodic in style
~
Holding you close
below heavens above
This winter evening
just falling in love

Ingrained In the Moments - the Poem

~

here, within the heart’s dreams,
passion gently tugs the strings
between heaven and earth

destined quivers collect
at the corners of reality
when flesh is kissed lightly
and moonbeams through parted sheers
illumine azure eyes pleading

day becomes night
as promises wished for
satisfy in the grasp of your hand
softly caressing senses,
wallowing in the seductive scent

where warmth on a cold autumn eve
neath woolen sheets
and down feather whispers
melts upon longing lips

as wandering fingertips trace
moistened folds, chenille glistened curves,
silhouettes of desire
amidst silken sighs echoing

and eternity is more than
measured time,
but ingrained in the moments
spent as one
in the arms of love

Morning Sun Whispers

~

Morning sun whispers
on down feather pillows
Soft autumn breezes
through young weeping willows
Hot coffee laughter
at contagious yawning
You in my arms
as a new day is dawning
~
November wishes
and cinnamon tickles
Shower stall steam
with warm water trickles
Passionate sighs
at your skin softly gleaming
Your lips on mine
is the essence of dreaming
~
Starting the day with
a meadowlark singing
Every smile to
my face you are bringing
Affections rejoice
in this early endeavor
Hoping this morning
will last for forever

Nightfall Dreams

~

Nightfall dreams
on my pillow wait,
silent desires
in down feather whispers,
for it is this moment
when stars connect
our heartbeats
in moonglow affection
that you reach for me
from northern vistas,
caressing my thoughts
as I fall deeply
into your love
once more...

Younger

A window pane, framed, by your simple face.
Your day’d rush by with the green and red lights.
A down feather mountain defined your space.
Celluloid, cellulite, closed eyes to fright.
A word was spoken, a quick glance exchanged.
You sank into a pit of your own make.
I’d given the world to help rearrange
the course of events for your better sake.
You grasped for a hand just out of reach.
Your breath wavered despite it’s youthful might.
Unbind yourself, to find the self you seek.
Unkind times made you step out of the light.
The unknown you can conquer, just concur
the weight you carry, you it can’t defer.

Marmalade Skies

~Marmalade skies~

one spoon at a time they feed
the morning horizon
Soft offerings of color
picked ripe from the vine

~Cantaloupe dreams~

a small slice of moon
the dawn’s crescent smiles on me
with a Cheshire grin
cocked slightly to the side

~Plum pudding blankets~

suspended above life, moving slowly
but coming of the day
as alarms break the solitude
nestled in down feather pillows

~Raspberry whispers~

singing the scent
of the fresh sunrise dew
on wishes coated in sparkling splendor
and footprints beyond the gate

~Nectarine blessings~

sweet on my lips
beneath an orchard arbor
I hold you close to my morning
and taste the bounty of your love

Good morning Soupers

down feather pillows

                                        I bask in the luxury

                                       'til sharp quills stab me

Santa Let Me Be the Giver

Lights of the city are twinkling across
arches of the rivers and shining down
as if to illuminate the jolly path
of the old man known as Father Christmas-
Kris Kringle-Santa Claus or Saint Nick
tonight tumbling onto the rooftops -
clattering down many smokeless chimneys
carrying his velveteen sack of gifts.

Santa forget my gifts this year-I'd rather
you give them to someone in need.
Bless some child and teach him to smile.
Take my abundance and feed the hungry-
wrap them up tight in my down feather coat.
My wish is that they hear the music I hear-
find their voice and sing "Silent Night".
I'll be their harmony and their strength.

Sinterklaas-take the afflicted and allow
the Lord to make them whole once more.
Don't let them flounder or look backwards.
Dry their eyes and show them the light
of a vibrant future-a hopeful dawn.
Let a merry Christmas be mine to share
with every jingle of silver bells
and the richest fragrance the yuletide brings.
