The news isn't good,
And I did not expect,
Prognosis and results,
When I got to the vet,
My heart hit the floor,
My head in my hands,
I've been here before,
I need to make plans,
DORA has got cancer,
Why her for god sake,
The dog I love dearly,
Is there for the take,
She is my best buddy,
A big part of my life,
There when I need her,
And the passing of my wife,
Before we would meet,
Her job was to breed,
Make someone money,
No love there just greed,
Then surplus to requirements,
She could not breed anymore,
With no money being made,
She was showing the door,
So that's how I got her,
I would not earn a quid,
She paid me in love,
And love I returned,
So when the day comes,
And I say my goodbyes,
I hope there together,
Way up in the skies.
I usually sit down with my tea,
And Dora not so far from me,
Her slava drooling from her jaw,
On command she'll raise her paw,
On occasion food will drop,
Dora the hoover cleans up the slop,
She eats for fun she's never full,
One big stomach she's like a bull,
And one big drawback it isn't smart,
She let's one slip a smelly fart,
Such a stench she'll clear the room,
You dare to stay then that's your doom,
For such a size She has some strength,
Match a pitbull without its length,
A favourite pass time the great outdoors,
She'd plan her route her choice not yours,
Toilet done She wants her prize,
In your pocket and its bite size,
And when the day is at its end,
I cuddle up with my best Friend,
She keeps me warm all through the night,
Then let's one rip so unpolite,
Now that's all gone she's here no more,
A grieving pain in my inner core,
Again I look back to the past,
My future once more overcast,
I did what's right I know I did,
The cancer gone and we got rid,
Cost Dora's life it was the deal,
It will take months for me to heal.
Why can't Dora just give Swiper a break !
For heaven's sake, who made her the morality police ?
Maybe Swiper is just trying to get a little attention ?
Maybe Dora ruined his business through her presumptuous obnoxiousness and gold badge, hall monitor, attention seeking, virtue signalling propaganda playing to the crowd.
No wonder Diego has 3 restraining orders on her.
Take your dignity back Swiper. Tell her to peddle her Black Magic Santaria and peer pressure, elsewhere. Take back your spirit animal from that bossy little b.....
I
Dora was 82 this year
My onetime neighbor
Three years back
I was new again
From USA, I backtracked
She inspired me about Africa again
II
Jesus, she loved Thee well
We pray, shalom, live to tell
If an ordinary, great South African
Bye Tanie Dora, godspeed
You wanted to care for your needs
But Thatcher Home was there
For a while, you shared your flair
In faith and community spirit
Dora was my dinosaur
I'd walk her every day
But as I walked the streets with her
All the folk would run away
Oh, she looked so very scary
With teeth real sharp and great big claws
And yet, you know, she's such a baby
And her I really do adore
How she loves to play and dance
And tricks, well they are just her style
When I play around with her
Folk come to watch us all the while
Well me, I would not be without her
She'll always be my favourite pet
Dogs or cats could not replace her
I'm so glad that her I met
Just a little poem for the kiddies.
I thought I was dying
But my mind was lying
So I must stop worrying
And I must stop crying
I must start jumping with glory
Because tomorrow they will all be sorry
They will all be packed in a lorry
And it will end like a fairy tale story
They will all be far than the forestry
And happily I will celebrate the victory
Very soon everything will be history
And this just a haunted piece of poetry
Dora and cheeku
Charming pair of brave dachshunds,
Very possessive and stubborn,
Grew up with my only son,
Envious of my love for him,
Running around was a part of play,
Rolled and giggled the whole day,
Ignored if, they would sit in a corner,
With drooping faces of a mourner,
Day, burglars broke into, was calm,
as thief ran to their wake up alarm,
Took cheeku away along with them,
Dora kept digging garden crying for him,
No foods or feasts could console,
Even the police failed to prove their role,
We died each day with her rising passion,
Loneliness had turned into obsession,
Till she too disappeared the other day,
after turning garden into a heap of clay,
Parting was unbearable to our hearts,
Tears of grief tearing our souls apart,
Comical clowns that once gave us smiles,
Must have found peace or travelled miles,
Memories haunt as those lovely days we recall,
Adorable pets, I still feel them leaning against the wall.

Mommy went to bed early
Asali stayed behind, partying the whole night long
Dora the explorer was on a repeat button
Asali jumped up and down like a button
She danced when Dora danced, sang along and answered Dora's questions
Occasionally Asali would peek in to make sure mommy was still snoring
Then she would carefully close the door
Asali like Dora the explorer also did a little exploration
In the fridge she went finding all kinds of goodies
But one thing, one little big thing stood out
Between the sticky sweet fingers and Dora the explorer
Asali was having the best night ever
She danced and jumped to the fridge and tv
back and forth
Little crumbs of cake followed her little steps
Joining the fun, of the best night ever
Then somewhere in the night, Asali got very tired
Luckily she found her way to her pink bed
But Dora the explorer continued to play
And the fridge was left ajar

Contest Name Childrens Story, Dr. Seuss Style
*I know am nowhere close to Dr Seuss style, but i had to try a kid friendly poem:-)
Strands of silver, tinsel fine,
Thin, flyaway,
Winged, widow’s peak
Widows’ weep
Bubba, Grandma, alone.
Up the dark tenement stairs
Cross tiny, tile squared floors
To the always open door…
Bubba, Grandma.
Aged, ageless, wiry, warm,
Open arms welcomed long tooth-grin
Gretel’s Grandma welcomes in.
Bubba, Ma.
Steel- spined, crow-eyed, soft skinned,
Gathered in, captured,
With the chicken bone.
The scent of ancient tomes,
Mothballed down comforters,
Brisket, kugel-noodle soup,
The feasts of Kings,
David and Solomon
Bubba, Grandma, Home?
