Summer’s gone, though still keeps going
Dried are the rains of May
Weatherbeaten dinghies bobbing
In the shallows of the bay
Moored forever to the pier
Tinkle their rusty chains
Seagulls crying on the veer
Flying over foamy waves
Ships are sailing on the ocean
But they’re out of sight
Waves are rising in commotion
Time has come for tide
Weeping willow leaves get withered
Homeless little snail
Seeks for shelter, and the lizard
Smiles, while sheds its tail.

Premium MemberMeet Me In Waitangi

The feud in our families vetoes our bond
We’re stood back to back for fear we’d abscond
They force you to walk, keep moving, don't stop
At gunpoint I’m ordered to walk ’til I drop
So each step we take is two further apart
But nothing will crush the intent in our heart
So walk, run or drive, take a boat or a plane
Just as I shall till I see you again
Someday our footprints will meet in the sand
And no man shall stay me from taking your hand
For twelve thousand miles will bring you to to me
And we’ll be together in Waitangi

                          ***

[Waitangi is in the Chatham Islands, New Zealand and
is very very nearly London’s antipode (opposite point on the globe).
London’s actual antipode is 800 km away in the Pacific Ocean
but meeting up in a couple of rubber dinghies seemed a little
Far fetched.]

Premium MemberFor Spring Is Here

Let me 'neath fleecy clouds be. For spring is here.
God's creation all for me. For spring is here.

So many glorious gardens to admire,
Clematis attracts a bee. For spring is here.

Aubrietia produced in profusion,
Scented Daphne in valley. For spring is here.

Up in the mountains, veiled with alpine flora,
Wild primrose and rosemary. For spring is here.

Orioles and robins lured by blush cherries,
Magnolias so airy. For spring is here.

But there on the calm wide seas, racing dinghies
Ketches, sloops sail to the quay. For spring is here.

Oh man, what's that I hear, someone is sneezing?
Hay fever? Or allergy? For spring is here.

11 syllables per line.

Life Is a Beach

The affluent holidaymakers cover the sand
Laid out in rows like one giant band

Sun hats and glasses protect pale skins
Under sun brollies as the new day begins

Calling out for ices, doughnuts and snacks
Lying on sun beds with lotion on backs

New hats and costumes that never get wet
Expensive trips that get them in debt

Noise and laughter abundant and free
Airbeds and snorkels take to the sea

Children are playing safe on the beach
Not far away from comforts reach

So different the story just over the sea
Migrants with children waiting to flee

No sunbeds on this beach laid in a row
Just dinghies overloaded and ready to go

No children's laughter no fun or joy
Only guns and bombs replacing the toy

No sun hats nor glasses or money to spend
Not even sure where their journey will end

The smugglers like vultures catching their prey
A new cache of victims everyday

Loaded in boats and pushed out to sea
Praying their journey will let them be free

We look to our leaders, the mighty and great
To solve this world problem before it's too late

They don't find an answer, it's still out of reach
So for contrasting reasons, life is a beach

Premium MemberSunday In the Park

While slowly walking through this lovely park
     on Sunday at noon,
          a warm day in June;
I hear the trillings of a meadowlark;
     his song crisp and clean;
          in oak trees so green.
And o’er the lake the summer breeze is blowing
as lovers in their dinghies slowly rowing.

              	I’m wishing you were here…

On monkey bars the joyful children play;
     climb up to the top;
          jump down with a plop.
Across the lawn a Frisbee sails away;
     a dog is in chase,
          and catches with grace.
While in the oak trees frisky squirrels playing;
along the path stroll lovers gently swaying.

               I’m wishing you were here…

You see the happy fam’lies sharing time;
     a picnic by lake
          with hot dogs and cake.
The clowns and vendors, and even a mime
     are all having fun
          in warm summer sun.
A park so full of life and people caring;
a lovely afternoon and time for sharing,
and everywhere you see the lovers pairing.

               I’m wishing you were here…
                    but feel your presence near.

Refugees

piteous cries of children's babies
on flimsy dinghies, colour of daisies
delivered to shores of unknown place
discrimination among men and ladies
wrong reaction about colour and race,

looking back at bloodstained horizon
painful thoughts, horrors at conception
even at the threshold of new beginnings
though not knowing of their reception
being alive, they count their blessings,

seeking help from unfamiliar sources
dismal thoughts of so few choices
exceptionally rich yet exceptionally poor,
escaping death there are many rejoices
what good will ever come from war.

Isles of Seclusion

emotions sailing in choppy waters
onward to isles of seclusion
passion dinghies released
seeking anchors of expression
securely beached
exploring wisdom shores

Wonderful Scandinavia

The Liberal Scandinavia

 Rich Exiles do not take rubber dinghies
Across the sea, but take the plane
And they are welcomed as
Assets of note
Once upon a time, the Jews had their
Valuables stolen when they try to escape
Now refugees get their assets
Confiscated in the country were
The seek sanctuary
 And relentless propaganda makes us
Hate them because the remind us of our
Lack of empathy
With the people, we should help but will
Not, because of cost,
A few hundred refugees have crossed
From Russia to Norway who are trying
To send them back
How pathetic we are
Telling other countries to show compassion
While we scramble to hide
Behind a wall screaming:” it is our country”
 Get lost go back to Syria bloody
Broke foreigners.
