Diego Armando Maradona :
Dashy pushy rustic persona.
Small structure caught in five feet five frame
Sunny player in fabulous fame.
Promising skill on challenge of arrogance .
Strong sturdy solid sense to keep balance.
Tangled disarranged hair.
Careful, yet without care.
Excitement to enhance but not perchance.
Bullish, buoyant, graceful with eyes angelic.
Not polite, over confident, strategic.
Impatient cocky, the stocky number Ten
to sky ball on loops of eyes reaching heaven.

For a fun vacation, I suggest San Diego might be for you
A city with lots of sunshine and warm temperatures and plenty to do
Its proximity to the border gives you lots of Mexican food choices to try
Endless beaches with boardwalks for strolling nearby
The zoo provides you with a spectacular array of animals far and wide
Balboa Park with its stunning architecture has to be tried
The biggest swap meet you have ever seen
Something for everyone I can tell because I have been
Little Italy is a part of town, and great Italian cuisine sure to delight
The old town where it all began, a taste of Mexico, a must-see sight
A few miles away Legoland can be found
Children can build things and take rides that will lift them off the ground
Coronado Resort is not to be missed with its idyllic charm and golden-era look
If you want to have a wonderful holiday in SanDiego you should book

Diego Maradona, I never knew you,
but you were from my generation,
only five years younger than I.
How young to have to die! How young to me it seems!
You – who were one of the greatest of the greats!
You – who controlled the football; you were its master.
“El Pibe de Oro,”
always you will be remembered.
Golden Boy of Argentina -
whose famous goal was
the “Hand of God,”
may you to God now homeward fly.

the naughty rascal of Naples has died
he was the greatest football player in history
a timeless icon
and although he was a flawed human
he is venerated like a demigod
people took to the streets to mourn his passing
weeping and throwing kisses at his 20 foot mural
a piece of Naples has died forever they shout
Naples is crying we lost our angel
grown men on their knees
Diego was born into poverty
but the gift of a football at age three
changed his destiny
and although his estate is huge
he died cash poor
for he was generous and easily tricked
his journey was complicated with
cocaine and drinking addiction
mafia connections
known for violent outbursts
yet with a stature godlike
thousand mourn
as he is laid to rest

do not blink your eyes if you want to see,
an amazing guy doing his magic with ball,
flash of blue and white jersey on ground,
as he races past falling opposite numbers,
to launch the ball in to the net for a win!
He raises his arm and runs around, jumps!
whole world applauds an Argentinian win!
before the cheer dies down he is back again
like express train speeding for another call,
left and right, side and back and the kick!
ball curls past the diving goal keeper in!
another moment for applause!!!
in Argentina he is loved like he is Life,
he is adored in Cuba, worshipped in Brazil,
in Italy he is more than a King!
In all of Asia he was a much loved icon,
his photos decorated homes and shops!
while Pele was called the black pearl,
Diego is a diamond in every human heart!
even the English who hated his ‘hand goal’,
had to say he was the greatest of all!
here was a genius who played the game,
like he was only created for football,
a tiny man just five foot five!
has left behind a foot print several meters tall!!

FIX THE STREETS
Fix the streets.
One day the people will rebel
and stop paying taxes.
Fix the streets.
No one will want to live
here in San Diego.
Fix the streets.
One day the people
will revolt.
Fix the streets.
This is not the time
to put up with crooked politicians.
Fix the streets.
Wealthy people won't want to live here.
Fix the streets.

She was next to me, She was real. How could this be? She so long the substance of my most hopeful daydreams. Physically so far away, but residing in my heart everyday. Could she be mine for more than this weekend? Only if fate smiled upon us, around the bend. Would her heart open again, and let me in?

Here begins a series of Burns stanzas
commemorating the Catholic Missions found in Old California along "El Camino Real", The King's Highway. The rhyme scheme is
aaabab and the meter is trochee.
Lines "a" are tetrameter lines and lines "b" are dimeter lines.
California's oldest mission.
Shrine provides appreciation,
viewing proselytization.
Converts, business,
making tribes of Christian passion.
Seeds brought, priests bless.

My mind is a pool brimming with thoughts,
Some exist in undisturbed corners as dust bunnies
In places where eyes can’t behold;
Seeing and hearing things are thought activators,
Often fetching me to long ago times,
To a place or person long since forgotten, until now;
The memory of touch, and passing of time,
Often reveal scars thought long ago healed;
Of times when my heart spoke,
But I wasn’t paying attention.

It is the third largest city in California.
It lies just north of the border from Tijuana.
This is a nice big town where many a tourist stays.
The municipality is home to the Chargers and Padres.
The weather is warm and sunny, and hardly every raining.
It is where the U.S. Marines take their boot camp training.
This place has been around since the Conquistador.
It has much to see and experience, and more.
The California city is a place I am sure you know.
It is none other than the City of San Diego.

Apricot nectar, I licked from her lips,
suckled the dew like honey
from melon ripe breast
and in time did savor
the heady heavenly flavor
of passion's fruit in all the rest
and night birds
beyond the window
...sang a new song.

Invasion of tears on a lonely street
I crash spheres of sadness that burst with a sigh
There's no one to tear me apart I can meet?
..a Lexus is lost and the driver is shy...
The freezing orchestra plays in my head
Police sirens as one play with my memory
A voice seems to utter " They will give us bread !!!"
As tearing, lost souls head for the Crematory.
I dream I wake up as pure as a kid
"No More Tears" - a shampoo bottle promises in vain
This time though white traces of a salty skid
Releases my heart, my hopes and my pain...

Sailors go to the San Diego zoo,
looking for pretty girls who go there too.
Sugared monkeys a good time,
always tossing plenty grime,
by reaching behind and throwing at you!
