Denoting Poems | Examples

Demonstrative dedication

Easy to entrance the sycophants watch their helpless dance their back and forth swaying and swooning, in cunnilingual somniloquence.
Droning and drooling with flattering and fawning, turgently swelling, spouting placating pleasantries, a mess of gushing adulation.
Self exultation, craving congratulation by consensus for another conventional sensation, clamouring for congratulation in lurid inflated infatuation.
Curtailing castigation, striving in strides as pedestrian asperation gives rise to typical inspiration, stillted it saunters soulessly, provoking predicable platitudes.
Dreary dedication denoting the humdrum and the ho-hum, tirelessly tiring, offering effortlessly banal bestowments bequeathing a tepid tranquillising testimonial.
Uniform, unchanged, unilateral applause, amplifying abysmal analogies, articulating dearth depictions of derivative denotations.
Cryptic quips collapse carelessly caused by cumbersome correlating contradictions, deviating detrimentally forth fatuous flutterings.
Stale sentiment, sterile superfluous suppositions, garishly guilded in grandure,
Repetitious rudimentary ruminations, repackaged and retold.

Stele with names carved

Names carved on a stone
A stele made for the dead
Denoting the hunters or fighters
Chasing to kill innocent animals
Or fighting the lives of people
For dying brutal or dying cruel

I realize they are all in heaven now
Both the killed and the killers
Each of them has to do a thing
In front of the altars of equality
Whenever God feels sleepy
To quarrel with one another

A stele with their names carved
Reminding everyone to remember
This fact would've been in a head

In the corner of a room is a showcase
received from a library rummage sale.
It's being utilized differently than
its original purpose for the public.
It is now very much a family focus.

On top of the case are two pairs of small
shoes originally purchased some 40 years
ago for our sons who are now 42 and 46.

Three garments hang inside this glass enclosure.
First, our daughter who is 50, has a high school
jacket with her name inscribed, and there's her
Yearbook dated 1989. There is a Boy Scouts of
America shirt belonging to our oldest son. Next,
there is a beautiful little vest of our youngest son
denoting him as a member of the church's group
known as 'King's Kids'. Finally, there's also a handprint
in a clay mold. It is the handprint image of our youngest
son with his name inscribed and the year 1987, when he
was 6 years old.

These are precious items of our kids from yesteryears.
We have embraced all of these family treasures for more
than 35 years, and display them proudly with much
gratitude toward God.

Vultures Circle The Sky

In the shadows, harpies linger as agents provocateur,
for the Fallen Watchers, for pecking order.
Prostitute mercenaries,
addicted to mercury and disorder.
Their claws sharp, their cries a shiver,
their motive insanity from hell's hateful quiver.
They pluck you from the light of day,
leave you in the flames to barter the fray,
to drown in the sea of faith no more.
Till nightfall,
where they tend the fires of a black wind,
poking signal lures,
preying for entropic thunder,
and romantic moon,
lyres to ascend your spirit
for the purpose of dropping you again
in despairs pit and swoon.
Denoting your abandonment and seclusion,
shoeing the fit,
wild horses couldn't drag them away.
Hoping to find you behind chaos's fire-line,
enemy mine,
a broken rhyme-
not asKing for a new day;
a soul adrift, in a sea of doubt,
no compass, no sails, no wind,
no faith, "tag you're it, hide your eyes and don't count."
on being saved from the fade to black
from grey lack of faith.

A flag bleeds red, white, and blue.
She has everything to do with me and you.
Her stars and stripes wave high in the wind.
She's not influenced by times and trends.
Thirteen stripes denoting our small beginnings.
50 stars, ever shouting and always ascending.

Premium MemberIf These Guys Didn'T Use the Word, Why Should I

Shakespeare found nothing esthetic about peripatetic
Kazantzakis and Joyce found it maudlin, bathetic

Dickens and Dickinson thought it alarmingly phrenetic
I’d use the word in my poems, frankly it’s asyndetic*

The World I Should Enjoy

His wisdom did his happiness destroy,
Aiming to know that world he should enjoy;
And wit was his vain, frivolous pretense
Of pleasing others, at his own expense

              - John Wilmot, 2nd Earl of Rochester

I’ve often wondered would I have been happier
had I been born more simple minded
If my brain was unable to conceptualize
considerations that go deeper than
what is necessary knowledge to survive
If I was blind to all the bullsh*t
If being tethered to this tiny dead end town
bereft of options or opportunity
were enough to placate me
If I wasn’t aware of a
whole wondrous world out there
though I’ve experienced so little of it
never having seen a sea or left the country
despite the Rand McNally map
hanging on my bedroom wall as a kid
decorated with different colored tacks
denoting all the far away places
upon whose soil I was sure I’d someday set my feet
If I wasn’t confident I could have achieved so much more
if fate had seen fit to give me a chance
the smallest crack in the door
If I didn’t suffer from this fire inside burning me alive
driving me to strive for what I will never have

Her Side

Her Side
By Sy Roth

Are they going to die like that?
Expire
Retire
As a broken, opalic string of DNA
Ribonucleic disaster
Worm-eaten womb
Ascerbic molecules.

Who enabled this procreatic mission?

They rimed it with a urine trail
Left --Her side
Discordant disdain
Heeding her rantings.

Across the hall a pink room
Only denoting her sex
Imponderable expressions of emotions
Laid bare among a string of rejections.

It echoes hollowly in the recesses.
She laid WMD traps,
Exploding in sickly apprehensions
A vale of tears.

The sisters fought the battle of Cain and Abel
Smashing their bloodless heads.

The progenitors walked between them
Without trepidation
To the other side
To vanish in a haze of decaying synapses
Leaving behind only questions
Left silent in the detritus of their disdain.

I am tired
I am so so tired
Just sit for a while

See no evil
Hear no evil
Speak no evil

Shut my eyes
Listen to emptiness
Don't speak

Shhhhhhhhhhh

I am so so tired
Just sit for a while

Watch my world
go bye

Premium MemberWhat Is the Meaning of Isolation and Insanity

What is the meaning of isolation?

the process or fact of isolating or being isolated.
               "the isolation of older people"
	* denoting a hospital or ward for patients with contagious or infectious
                    diseases.

What is the meaning of insanity?

   * the state of being seriously mentally ill; madness.

This small virus that is infected millions of lives has left us in unwanted isolation, driving us in madness and insanity.

Lord give us patience to understand and forgive. A solution for the outbreak so it will come to an end.

Like the squirrel in “Ice Age,” a 2002 American computer-animated comedy film. It is trying so hard to keep the last pinecone left on earth, but seem to elude him. Has it come to that?

Quote:
 Proverbs 17:22
A joyful mind maketh age flourishing: a sorrowful spirit drieth up the bones.

Valor

Cold creeps
from swift whirlwinds
left me quivering with chattered teeth
and drenching with sweat.
Trumpeting;
foreshadow of war.

There I was
aghast on the battlefield
accoutered with no armor or shield
and no cavalrymen to deploy;
ashen with fear.

Venomous arrowheads
seared me with scars
as a sword ravaged my heart.
I yielded in anguish
at the acme of predicament,
kneeling forth my adversary.

My soul roared with rage
as it set ablaze in the cage.
Scorched by the flames;
fire streamed through my veins,
unveiling my chaste
and awakening the spirit within.

With the might of a warrior
I perished my nemesis,
alias; the demons in the mind.
Dawn abrupt in the azure sky;
denoting the apogee of valor.

Letter To a Poet Who Texted My Girlfriend

Dear poet
I saw your lies written on a piece of paper
Wrapped in a beautiful brown envelope
Those sugar coated words all in black
Symbolizing your love for another man's love

Dear poet
Yesterday was valentine day
The day you wrote messages from your soul
Hoping to smile deeply within a woman’s body
I saw your insincerity pouring out like a fountain

Dear poet
I saw your skills in perfecting your craft
It ran me through the inner circle of my life
Those romantic words used to serve her appetite
Though she smiled, but it brought sadness strolling in my heart

Dear poet
I saw poetry professing love on heavenly color
The ink dripped lovely words on fruitful leaves
Denoting performance factor of a poet’s heart
How sadly it was to read the brokenness of a man

Dear poet
Even though the ink is your lifetime girlfriend
But find a place to throw your emotions
Or maybe keep it for another anthology
Your love could be accepted and published

Premium MemberOde To Our Flag

ODE TO OUR FLAG

The Flag of the Great Nation of America consists of seven stripes of crimson red which stand for all the blood that's been shed. Mingled with six stripes of brilliant white denoting the purity that lead each fight. Backed by a vivid field of blue with fifty stars belonging to the fifty states that compile this small piece of God's big earth, it should be flown in a solemn manner. Often referred to as the Star Spangled Banner and stately names such as Old Glory, it goes before the men and women who are in harms way on foreign soil defending what we, as Americans, believe so strongly in --- FREEDOM! This flag is the most noted flag the world has known. Wherever it flies, it fills our hearts with patriotic pride. No matter where it is unfurled, we should stand tall and proud to have such a beautiful relic show the world that we will forever fight to keep it flying as the symbol of freedom that it stands for. God Bless America!
