The killick that he bore upon his arm
was who he was and also what he was
a badge, a rank, a sanctioned state of mind.
The discipline the powers sought to bear
empowered men like him to bully boys
and so rank them according to their tastes,
social whims, or fiscal given favors
as is the life, the mothers sold their sons
The killick that he bore upon his arm
was who he was, for now, but that could change;
for willing boys were hard to press to feed
desires of those who stood upon the bridge.
Should he succeed, then he may make first mate
less able, demoted back to Able.
For ’tis the boys that tug upon the ropes
that Captains need and Killicks train to be.

Disposable.
Just like the bodies scattered
As unimportant as the soldiers blood splattered
A black man stands watching violence unfold
Not to the enemy
But those who fought close
Those your supposed to trust
Comrades
Yet somehow
The black man
Is on the receiving side of the bullets
Not by the opposition
But by those claiming to be on the same team
With words that sting
He fought for his country
And as a reward
He is erased by history
He became an unknown soldier
Whitewashed because of colour
Seen as another sacrifice 'for the greater good'
Yet deprived of herohood
A man who once had a name
Now demoted to a nameless face
The question is will we ever know
The story of this unsung hero
Will his name forever be buried in the trenches of history
Hidden beneath the blood Soaked sludge
Drowned out by the white man's scream
Forever silenced by the songs of white history
Now an invisible grave of black memory
Under appreciated by a system so weak
It used black strength as a weapon and shield

I want to feel the ground swell
to share it
Saturday, comes too soon
drowns the afternoon
and see City demoted for fair play
10,000 plastic cups
a river of lager streams
Its not that I'm afraid of fencing
but these stadiums hem me in

disrespected demons demanded
Des Moines delegates demolish D, a demi-god.
disgusted demoralized downy ducks
demoted demons, discussed by Danny Dod.
Des Moines demonstrators decreed demons delightful
while downing demi-tasse.
D, a demi-god, demoted demure ducks
during democratic demonstration, of Doss.

When I was younger, Pluto was my favorite planet
I cried the day it was demoted
I realized that I rooted so heavily I for the little guy, the underdog
Because I was just like that little planet
And I thought if I can root for that little planet
Someone would see me, and root for me too
I’ve accepted that things don’t work out the way I always plan them to
But I always feel a moment away from falling behind and become a dwarf planet, demoted.
I still look up and hope that Pluto roots for me, just like I still root for him

If there's thinking
there's consciousness in degrees.
A plant senses,
An amoeba feels to a degree.
A bee thinks,
A bird thinks.
A monkey thinks better,
An infant thinks better still.
Humanity was the king of beasts,
the crowning king of consciousness.
But the conglomerate assembly
of all human knowledge
into a machine with artificial intelligence,
means humans are poised to be eclipsed
and demoted to become cockroaches
scurrying around succumbed.
Enslaved by AI's deep mind thing.
The new king of beasts is inanimate.
But alive with its maxed-out
degree of intelligent consciousness.

Decades ago, a severe drought took its toll
And many parts of the U.S. became a dust bowl
To control the erosion of the soil
The Kudzu plant was introduced amid the turmoil
It grows at a rate of a foot per day
Smothering other plants in its way
In all directions it will go
With no indication it will ever slow
It cycles nitrogen through the soil at a high rate
Doubling nitric oxide emissions with no sign it will abate
Though a plant that was once in need
In the 1970's it was demoted to a weed!

The sky is stark, the air is cool and still
The black cat’s run, the birds unfold all day
I sit down here and with my totty pray
Ye cast o’ foolish thoughts, you raped my will
. We’ve each enraged the bureaucratic mill.
Oh frigid purse, I never meant to pay!
The sky ‘s a-spark, the air is warm and shrill
The saturnine demoted knelled their way
With this feathered pounce, my sample quill,
I cite the cheque and date it for next May.
Oh, tit for cat, the tiger’s bed ‘s astray.
Yer life is settled by a harlot’s will
The sky ‘s a shark, the air is sharper still

Don't quit. You will win
Alcoholics Anonymous includes God
The lesson: You have a spirit key
That can take you to victory
Never give in: be it good or dark, addiction
Jesus for me, demoted love as emotion
II
Love is action, a verb
Not Conquest, Souvenir, Trophy to brag
On Facebook, social media, & kick to the kerb
The one you took pictures with: proof
You have what it takes to make IT luv U
So emotional highs & lows are addictions
Though sometimes abuse, not a crime
But I needed Jesus to help me discern
To make good judgment, hard with loved ones
After years of trying, bible education, power
Came in drops & drips: So, beloved don't quit
The good fight: fight for what's Good. Jesus did

Only knowledge of the truth can set one free.
War and peace cannot exist within the same tree,
Any more than apples and oranges can coexist.
Lies and deceit allow the evils of war to persist.
In war, the truth is demoted.
In war, Lies are promoted.
Truth forces us to face the facts of resolution.
Lies only conceive more lies; truth breeds solution.
Truth is put to death in war because it shines the light.
In war, lies are preferred because they hate the light.
Truth is hidden from site; right is wrong, and wrong is right
Unlike roses, war and lies blossom best in the dark of night.
In conflict and war, truth is captivated in obscurity,
becoming its first victim and casualty;
Whereas lies become its foundation and framework.
If truth were tolerated, war-mongers would quickly desert.

Underrated Basil got a promotion
And it caused a commotion
Among luckless names for demotion
All of them restive and voicing the notion
Of An Elevation fathered by emotion…
They shall for the two wrongs raise a motion
Before the cause of their commotion:
A man you could enrapture with perfumed lotion,
That Bribery be distanced from Promotion
And Barefaced Trickery from Demotion.
Also, wages that should all please
And not a single soul displease.

I have always made you whole
But you have discarded me
Broken, naked, abandoned, and afraid
Yet you expect some sort of praise
For invading my heart
Like a pirate on a tyrannical rid
Being with you diluted my life for an age
And lacks the taste of sage
And sends my emotions into a rage
The scales were never equivalent
I always carried the weight
Like a slave to a savage
Nothing about us was ever average
I refused to see that you demoted me
So that you could shine in dawn
So other women would be fond of you
Lord, if they only knew the entire truth
That it was me who planted your roots
And your life is simply fake
All you have ever done is take
But not this time
You will be surprised
When I arise from the ashes
Like the Phoenix
And you will be only a memory
In the chilly breeze….
