i came across a case like historians
who failed to decipher scripts of old age
i failed to read his mind
who through his actions had put it on display
i failed to read his actions
kept his life locked behind the doors
never letting me in
and knowing
what he was going through
i foolishly
tagged him
blamed him
“for ruining our friendship”
the mizpah, the bond that kept us close
broke in an instant
bringing my world to an
“blackout”
my nights turned haunted again
the savior absquatulated me again
my ghosts began to rule over me again
leaving me in a state of despair
how many smells can a human brain decipher?
If you guessed five hundred, your guess is way too low.
One thousand?
Two thousand?
Five thousand?
Believe it or not, twice that many.
We can decipher ten thousand different scents.
My favorite ones are beef stew, peach cobbler, apricot pie,
apple pie, and peanut butter fudge.
I doubt if I could name ten thousand different scents.
Could you?
Those few words
that I write and that I exhibit,
are not simple words...
They are map of the world,
are routes, itineraries...
To tour the world
and achieve happiness...
They are poetical formulas,
they are magic potions...
Decipher me... !
Rhymes tint lines
Verse feels fine
Words sculpt feel
Watch touch thrill
Mood churns rhyme
Feel thought mime
Here time slips
In lost glyph
Feel each mood
Shape some good
Seek to find
Words that bind
Read the signs
Be not blind
Touch feels show
In word flow
All seems clear
In sad cheer

Grace firms the touch
More hides in much
If you can see
What yet may be
Come with pure grace
That love may trace
Time in brisk run
Now shapes each pun
Dare breathe clear wit
Where all things fit
Time in sure time
Strings each chain rhyme

CAN’T DECIPHER
Son, tries to face the future
Dragging baggage from the past.
He and Mom’s relationship
Keep going sideways fast.
It’s not that he’s not listening,
He’s just deaf to what’s not said.
The silence in her heart that speaks
He can’t decipher in his head.
