Can'T Decipher

CAN’T DECIPHER Son, tries to face the future Dragging baggage from the past. He and Mom’s relationship Keep going sideways fast. It’s not that he’s not listening, He’s just deaf to what’s not said. The silence in her heart that speaks He can’t decipher in his head. Barbara Barry-Nishanian Dec. 2017. copyright

Wow. You wrote this quite a while ago. It is short, simple and to the point. This is the right essence for a good poem.

Wow! simply profound, "deaf to what is not said" I personally have been in this spot with most of the women in my life but I'm learning, will soon get my degree in female telepathy..lol.. this piece speaks volumes yet its so simple. I Love It!

Barbara, we are apt to love someone who is good and decent. Those who are bad are the ones who really need to be understood and loved. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks for comment. "Baggage" carries death of friend, life disappointments. Things humans can't change. He's successful, and loving. Hope he gets a kick out of this, not think it a putdown.
