Dankness Poems

Premium MemberThe Only Star For Me

When darkness invades and envelops me
I see a light cutting through the dankness
I see its source, a shining star
The only one in the firmament of my sky

When my spirit gropes in gloom
I look up to see the light flowing down
Lord, you are my beacon and my only light
The pole star navigating me
Through the rough seas of life

In my brokenness and in pitch gloom
I see your light, the illumining light
It pierces the darkness that blinds my sight
And shelters me from every turmoil
In times, when I bleed in anguish
You fill my heart with strength and cheer

You are my salvage and my saviour
Align my spirit to the chords of your love
I see you as the first and the last
The one and the only star in my life

God! On looking at your blazing radiance
This supplication I do humbly make
When I am unsure of my destination
Give me Light, clear brilliant light,
Not to enjoy the wayside scenes
But that I shall not stumble and fall

How I used to care for this finely beautiful gate, once!
Couldn't ever see it rusty, dingy, dusty, dirty;
Creaking of this gate left me psychically in a dunce,
I sandpapered; cleansed; oiled; kept it gold-shiny and flirty...!

This old rusty gate now retells within many stories:
Stories of our union; innocent children-communion;
Stories of progress in all glorious territories;
Stories of rise and fall and separation and union...!

How death of dear ones leaves one's existence absurd and void!
The old rusty gate now revealed to my neighbors, common;
My sadness, emptiness, dankness, loneliness and schizoid,
And announced: though I was alive: R.I.P. with Brahman...!

I should, though late, renovate this old precious rusty gate,
Relish my memories till I live and rewrite my fate...!!!

Caught in the clutches of darkness, we quail
Seeing it shrouding our spirits, we wail
Assailed by afflictions and tribulations severe
Our life is devoid of all peace and cheer

Oh Living Light! Penetrate through this darkness
Let your beams cut through this dankness
Till every murky corner is warm and aglow
And we are steadied by your light’s luminous glow

Across the lengthening stretch of our loneliness
We can only see frightening shadows of grayness
Be by our side as our anchor and prop
As through this dark alley, staggering we grope

Oh, Living light, we look up to you
To lead us and show us the way to pursue
Rain on us the radiance of your heavenly light
That we shall not grope in the stygian night

Hold our hands and lead us to sunshine
With Thy brilliance, our life entwine
Set our minds free from the grip of fear
Fill us with thoughts, resurgent and pure

So that we shall proceed on our arduous journey
With abiding Hope as our eternal company
And enough light and grace to make each day
Better and brighter than the ones gone their way!

Lost In Thought

As the mind quite
And the soul pick a
Pen to speak in ink.
Though soul may set in
Dankness, it will rise in a
Perfect light, like a value
that doesn’t decrease based on
Someone’s inability to see, I will speak.
What I wish I knew, like a
man who do not know how high
he is, until he is called to rise. like a
morning sun, blessing be the name ‘in day’,
but time still exist. I need you next to me,
maybe we could be one but where do I start to trust?

Ode To Lovecraft

I had not the mind to tarry long here,
Like the Deep Ones it is an endless existence.
Where within the bowels of debauchery and broken dreams.
It swells like Arkham’s crowded streets - a foul and smelling thing.

I tell of terrors so horrendous that I would be likened to the Mad Arab!
Before me shapes of unimaginable size and complexities
The grinding gears of shiny movable objects so absurd as to twist the very
Cool of mind to do some drug, alas yes perhaps you think me doing so.

No mushrooms or DMT, but visions in a loathsome cry inside of me.
So real in waking life in isolation, quite possibly a manifestation
So somber is my spirit here their faces, many eyes I fear.
The horror is inside my skin like Yiths I feel those thoughts begin.

I felt as if they spoke of me, the voice of my anxiety.
No mortal yet has described it so perfected as I, my tormented mind.
The Dankness that surrounds my soul is ever present
Accursed for all recorded time, is mine, this Antediluvian rhyme.
I long for sweet release from this; abomination that is this:

My Xenophobic tendency~
So back in Boston’s where I’ll be.

For the Feast of St Catherine of Siena

She drank the purifying firewater
(purer than the purest alcohol)
from the fountain where all can drink to the full.
Then she immersed herself.
She emerged with the fire in her eyes
and came close to the beggar in the ditch
and the pope within the palatial estate.
Her words and deeds became the titanium arrows
drawn red-hot from the furnace of his chest.
He had died of that hunger so intense
it produced the bloody sweat
that fell to the ground
and mixed with the dirt of the earth
and covered the surrendering wood.
(The dry wood burns best.)

The fire can’t help itself from burning.
It transforms into itself whatever comes near.
It dries up the dankness of conceit.
She preached the atonement
of both the furnace and the fountain.
She took on the air of the unquenchable flame.

Silvery, slithery words
Where do they come from?
Hidden
In the well’s dankness
Arising willfully
Surprisingly
Unheedful of my reaction
Or yours
Molding the present
Spilling out of my mouth
Announcing themselves to the world
Often without telling me first

Sedentary

Darkness forsakes beings liberty.
Pain that carry misery.
Gate of colony power breath of that locked system.
Sea of dead chained.
Faded face of a ginger violence is just a name.
Hate and Love connect.
Knowledge is pregnant.
Dear not fight, dankness turned to light.
Ginger is not just men but a killer.
History count!
True mind never end.
Sleep is a cousin of death read mind.
Wisdom of Solomon there is always two ways.
Middle ages run in two tales.
Poverty is name good for slave.
Step in time turn a stepping stone.
One is toe of feet.
Seven is number of justice step save!
Liberty comes to blink of eyes.
Egypt never left African side.
System is a chain of crime.
Black man sees the light!

We Shine

Our creations define us
They show our soul to the world,
     Let it taste our madness.

Never be dim
Glow,
   Strobe,
Shine as the stars light the sky.

We throw emotion at the world
Painting the red of hatred
In the dark corners.
Coating the sky
with the yellow of happiness.
Saturating the hills
By draping it with the purples of lust.

Never be dim
Shimmer,
   Radiate,
Shine as the stars light the sky.

If you ever feel like a glimmer
Change what your looking at.
Stop staring at what you did
And look at how you touched society,
Made people move,
   Displayed an experience,
      Created an emotion.
Be the light at the end of the tunnel
not the dankness corroding the surface.

Never be dim
Sparkle,
   Illuminate,
Shine as the stars light the sky.

FROMTHIS2THAT

Biscuits and gravy
Salads and snot
Chicken fried salamanders
The clams and mussels
The oysters	the army marines and the navy
No such relief will be brought
Delusions of Grandeur
The dankness in disparity the putridity
The slackened standards
Oh the wasted cognation
The scabs
The gangrene
The horrible rot!

An expired emotion
A disgusting thought
The ocean of death
Fighting the tide
Like a bucket of sand
The Crabs scatter from futility
All mollusk moan in aggravation
The morbid discord a bandless eulogy
Education leaves so much untaught
The mind bending psychoactive laughs
Lighting the darkened inside

The genetic modification progressively paves this path
The superhuman sublime Externalized id
The age of science and the prosperity it has brought
The genome split, the double helix divide
Biochemical experimentation
Brings forth the future of man
The savage beast	-	laboratory tamed
The super-naught delivers the human
child from the caves to the Promised Land.

Survivor Hope Chests
                            by Odin Roark

I’m of flesh and blood
hearing distant melodies
somewhere way back
behind the leafless tree,
the chicken coop,
or root cellar,
where survival is stored
for cold and wintered summers,
when breath’s rejection remains constant.

I’m of sight watching today’s resident spider
in furry overcoat waiting at web’s corner
bidding flies that never come,
knowing death as they do,
determined to live another day.

I’ll smell yesterdays forever,
for death’s rancid decay never settles,
under-tarp dankness forever stays in my hair,
and once fragrant flowers are but memory.

I’ve tasted it all,
the Red Cross coffee,
the trashcan discards,
the airdrop packets,
and even the occasional meal,
but most of the time,
the longing bile of my emptiness.

But…

I can still touch my toes,
sometimes of blistered history,
sometimes of flapping sole
clinging tenaciously as only friend.

And…

I tell myself tomorrow will come.

There will be another day.

I can make it.

The Descent

I was floating,
only now I'm sinking, Now I'm only sinking, my past drags me,
deeper and deeper into the abyss.
I never drown, the cold water in my lungs never stops the heartbeat,
 I just sink.
 Never dieing, never slowing.
For the dankness can not kill me,
and cool water can not end my descent,
It can only make me colder.
It can only drag me deeper.
