Dangers Poems

Premium MemberThe Dangers Of Hate

Do I exist, do I matter, am I garbage/
A voice whispers in my soul's dark passage/
I am a person too with feelings that swell/
Deserving as much as the rest of you/
Can't you tell/
Isolation is no fun, a cruel sentence/
Ostracized, I stand in my own defense/
Singled out in unjust hate, I ponder/
Why do they deem me garbage, I wonder/
I've done nothing wrong/
Just tried to be me/
But hatred blinds those who refuse to see/
In a world that should cherish/
Uplift, embrace/
The poison of hate/
Turns it to a desolate place/
Together we stand/
Though many are apart/
Healing begins when love fills the heart/
Break the chains it creates/
And build a world/
Where compassion radiates/

Sand promise

You promised love whatever the weather,
That you will be with me without a break,
In the hardest storm we'll be together.
That there's nothing you won't do for my sake.

You even said you'd die if I leave you.
So you filled my heart with love to its brim
And you made me to love you through and through.
But now the light of our love has gone dim.

Like sand hills are scattered by a strong wind.
Our hearts now belong to two new strangers.
Your love, you have decided to unwind.
You now leave my feelings in grave dangers.

Now your "for better for worse" love doesn't talk.
You have stopped that love you gave round the clock.

The Pull of Al-Kuhl

I come with the indomitable intent to beguile
Upon your face, I place an ephemeral smile

When I come, I don't stay very long
I have you up early but by the time I leave, I'll have you singing a sad song

Gone! Gone like a thief in the night
Sometimes I make you blackout, but when you return, you notice something's not quite right

Maybe it's the headache, tummy ache, or the fact you're bent and hungover
So you pray. You pray to the porcelain god about things you don't remember

But I remember. Because I am the deceiver they call 'Al-Kuhl.'
The body-eating spirit that beguiles and pulls

I love to pull you to a low vibrational state
In your drunken stupor, your cares and troubles you no longer contemplate

But when reality awakens you to a sober mind
Real eyes see that the pull of Al-Kuhl is dark and unkind

The Dual Edges of Social Media's Sword

Social media, realm where whispers fly,
A land beneath the vast digital sky.
Here, every word can travel far,
Each post and tweet, a potential star.

It binds the world in a tight-knit web,
Where thoughts and cultures easily ebb.
A platform broad for voices small,
In this grand stage, one and all.

Yet in its depths, dangers dwell,
As truths and lies together swell.
A double-edged sword, it can deceive,
Where false narratives weave and leave.

A mighty force for advocacy’s fight,
It lights up causes in the night.
From grassroots grows a towering wave,
Empowering the meek, the brave.

But watch the cost, privacy paid,
Invisible prices, quietly laid.
A footprint permanent, never gone,
In the landscape vast, forever drawn.

A frontier for the bold, the new,
Where innovations burst into view.
A pulse of progress, fast and fierce,
New ideas that pierce the universe.

So wield it well, this potent tool,
Educate, engage, but never fool.
For social media’s power, vast and wide,
Reflects the human spirit, amplified.

Premium MemberDangers Everglade Animals

in the Everglades there are dangers galore
alligators, crocs, rattlesnakes, and many more….
a cottonmouth aka water moccasin would scare me back to my car
could be bitten by a brown recluse, looking for its violin scar

baby florida panther might entice me with his blue eyes
here comes mama cougar all grown, what an unfortunate surprise!
Burmese python is coming quickly to constrict out my lunch
It is too late to run, I know this is more than a hunch

a red snake, how delightful, uh-oh, I see his fluorescent yellow
I know now he is an eastern coral, a most venomous fellow
where are the black bears? Would they save me? Do you know?
I have heard they only eat plants and garbage litterbugs throw

Is that an alligator or a crocodile? Dare I get near its weird hump?
oh, yes, it’s the big one, so it’s a croc, and they can both jump!
I hear a rattling, and know I am about to be some animal’s lunch
Florida swamps are dangerous. This is more than a hunch.

On the Rocks

Some ships founder on the rocks.
Such sad things come to pass.
Relationships! They founder too,
if not upon a rocky shore,
then in a whiskey glass.

Premium MemberDescriptions of Life

All along
Life is like a candle in the wind
Encountering dangers sometimes
Life is fragile like a glass
Sometimes feeble and sickly
Life is like a messy rubbish dump
Sometimes uncertain and aimless
Life is like a sudden rain which comes like fate
Always unforcasted and helpless
Life is like a beggar
Always begging for more
Life is like a prayer
Sometimes with great expectations
However
Life can become an iron bar
Not easily bent, strong and firm
If you've a strong faith in god

Premium MemberDangers of Drink

Beneath this broken piece of sod
Lies one who thought that he was God
Who drank too much
And drove, and such,
A man whose thinking was quite flawed.

Premium MemberSensitivity and Life

Too sensitive will make life hard
Too ignorant will make life meaningless
Our five gifted senses
Do sense life and its essences
Because we're sensitive and we care
Sensitivity will bring us
Truth and justice
Prevention and salvation
Avoidance of errors, dangers and traps
A better life
A better ideology
A better affection and love
Lastly
A better world to live
For the next generation
Whom we love and care

Premium MemberConfusion

It takes life long
To study the world
Or its people
Because it's complex
Always in a state of confusion and chaos
Anything can happen
Rumours can be turned into truths
Truths can be turned into fallacies
So
Look before you leap
Think thrice before you act
Consequences and dangers can spoil and kill
Truths are hard to reveal sometimes
For a poor man
No time, energy and wisdom for all these
So keep your mouth shut
Keep your eyes blind
Keep your ears deaf
Truths will be understood amongst wisers
For you
Keep all the secrets in your heart if any
Or mention them to your God if any

Dangers of Life

In life we jump obstacles,
            we jump precipices,
            that we don't even sight...!

Premium MemberDangers of Delusion

Sadly, we may suffer a delusion
Understanding not the thing we conceive,
While functioning under the illusion
Everything is truly as we believe.
Perceptive minds do not always perceive
That often-told lies are still lies, indeed,
Truth is always borne on factual need
Easily recognized as veritas --
Virtuous, of good character, good seed
Free of falsity and meaningless dross.

Premium MemberDangers of Social Media

I received misinformation yesterday
A friend’s interpretation of one of their friend’s conversations
borrowed through eavesdropping of a neighbor

I received confirmation yesterday that it was a
supposed observation, and had legitimate validation
that it was no fabrication

However, it caused drama and upheaval
The second I posted this misinformation on social media
I was told it was untrue.

Eighteen minutes later I unposted it
Luckily only six hundred and forty-two people now think I am a liar.
