Tribute to Mom and Dad

You've walked a long walk
It's time to sit back.
The journey's rough and tough
Thorns and thistles laid bare.
Your feet bleed and crack;
But you walk through the boulder.
Scorned on all sides
You heed them no more.
Sorrows, heartache etched
Within you, broken and shattered
But you built us home;
of love and wisdom to dwell.
Like a sculptor and a painter,
You chipped out the rough edges
Then painted a canvas,
Bright and beautiful.
You shed tears in rain,
Kissed the mud in pain.
Worn were your clothes,
Different patches stitch in,
Then burry the shame behind
To made us stand tall.
You've walked a long walk,
It's on us to shoulder your load;
A traveller, you'll see the world:
Beauties you've missed,
Clothe in majestic sapphire.
No one shall scorn you now,
We'll shield you.
Our house is made,
Our home is built
Our life shall shine.
Love so devine
You'd instilled within us
We'll nurture till we grow old.
"Love, understanding and unity",
Our precepts, shall live on.
Together with love'll shine,
Till we bow our head.

Premium MemberGet this show on the road

Let’s get this show on the road,
The car's still empty and we can't seem to load
Susie's applying makeup, Jake’s playing video games,
Mary’s scrolling her socials, where friends call her names.

I want to get to the airport, I want to be
clambering into an Impressionist painting of the sea
Ride the chestnut ponies, get back to something real,
My kids are in a rabbit hole, they forgot how life can feel.

(Chorus)
We're on an oven burner, like a doomed toad—
So let’s get out of here, get this show on the road,
We'll ride wild ponies, neighing by the sea.
We'll go back to living, we'll go back to free.

It helps sometimes to leave a comfort zone,
Children connected to the whole world, but to me they seem alone.
The old ways had their wisdom, and a simpler moral code,
Let’s flip this circus upside down; get this show back on the road.

YOU WILL KNOW YOUR DAD

You will know your dad
when you too became a dad!

You shall feel glad
when you realize, he was your launch pad!

You will appreciate his wisdom
when you shoulder responsibilities of the kingdom!

You will realize his care
when he was dissolved into the air!

You will dearly miss him
when alone, against the tides of life, you swim!

You shall honour his glory
when you will appreciate his story!

You shall praise, he is the prize
while he is alive and if you are wise!

Dedicated to all Fathers on this International Father's Day (third Sunday of June)!

ANGEL OF DEATH

ANGEL OF DEATH

He went to check
up on the cat
tripped over a
crooked vine table
tried to get up
smashed its circular
glass in half
moon shapes

Street silent in
obedience

Angel was waiting in
right hand ceiling corner
said “Look here”
He turned his grey
head neck swirling
eyes like saucers

Angel swiftly drew
outgoing breath
body surrendered
Soul flew into another
Light pod without
a goodbye

Neighbour said
fetch a sheet
a week before
Dad grimaced
“Alles vir Niks”
(All for Nothing)

His wisdom words
he did not fully
comprehend

Angel of Death
knew he was
more than ready
for his Light
pod lessons

He is washing his
hands with his
Mother

Premium MemberGoodbye Dad

Quote By Poet: "Tears are rain from the eyes."

When the phone rings,
it is 1:30 AM.
A doctor saying,
your dad is gone.
How did I manage to say,
thanks for your call?
Tears filled my eyes and face,
my dad is gone but how could that be?

My hero of a man,
who left his home~family~to fight a war.
A dad who took the time,
to help with homework.
His wisdom was everlasting,
"a winner never quits and a quitter never wins."

My memories drift off,
to a great man and dad.
One who loved his,
family and country.
Where the beach would find him,
fishing the blue sea.
He was called friend,
because he was a friend to all.

Thank you dad

Thank you dad
For your wisdom
And all the things we learned from you
Thank you for your knowledge
And so much more too
We thank you for showing
 us the way
We saw faith and you showed us nothing is impossible
You always said you carnt please everyone
So please yourself
Its true some are not happy when they dont get their own way
And am thankful i have learned to put myself first today
God is always first but we still have to think of ourselves
Not being selfish but sometimes we can only do
what we are able to do.

If they dont like it
They will have to lump it haha

People can not save us
So walking in faith is the place thats
Always best.
Thank you dad
For planting seeds of faith from a young age
R.I.P.
Loved forever

Premium MemberLIFE-with Dad

I believe that what we become depends on what our fathers
teach us at odd moments, when they aren’t trying to teach us.
We are formed by little scraps of wisdom.

Umberto Eco, Foucoult’s Pendulum

LIFE

Living on road, once a week.
Inhabiting Dad’s kitchen.
Food for two with leftovers.
Every subject chewed o’er

Premium MemberA Father's Wisdom

Our friend Mr. Ed was a talking horse.
We remember him with tears of remorse,
But, children, please try not to be so sad.
There are excellent reasons to be glad!
While we strain to recall a word he said,
Take heart - consider, it’s better he’s dead.
The parts of him that were both fast and true
Still hold quite as fast in our Elmer’s glue.
We can ride our new horse through the heather
On a saddle made from his fine leather.
What’s left over is an essential cog
In a sound diet for our talking dog.

Premium MemberCaptain Of Your Own Ship

A wise poet said:
“You are captain of your own ship!”
My employer said: “Not here, Buddy!”
My wife said, “Yes dear, after you take
out the garbage and mow the grass…”
My son said, “please come to my baseball
practice, daddy…?” God said: “ask Michael,
my authority on sail
and ultimate direction….”

                  A wise poet…?

A carapace of courage
Lies buried in the hills.
A library of wisdom
Stocked with empty pages,
Erased for all the ages.
A husk of special skills
And verbal vitality
Dad, juggernaut at rest.

Premium MemberAll My Dad Really Wants For His Girls

"All a man really wants, is a girl who looks good in a bikini." - Jack Freestone

Such is a carnal perspective
midst human nature's sexy frame...
yet Dad, with divine directive
taught us, his daughters, godly claim.

A real man... according to Dad
wants the best for his girl so dear
to look well, whatever the fad
since what matters most is heart's gear.

Instilled with Dad’s wisdom so true
I love looking good with smart zest
not affected by others’ view
as long as God favours my best.

My Son; My Bombom

He is my BOMBOM;
My lovely boy with a heart of gold;
Ever cheerful and down to earth.

He is my lovely Boy, through thick and thin.
Ever caring and always supportive.

He is my lovely Boy,
in whom I'm well pleased;
Brilliant, intelligent, yet always unassuming.

He is my lovely Boy,
My Pride and my Friend;
Sometimes restive,
But always obedient and accommodating.

He is my lovely Boy
With so much of my virtue and weakness in him;
Reaches out to even beyond known boundaries.

CHUKWUKA, my PRINCE and my Son,
On this occasion of your Birthday, what can I say other than wishing you an endless season of all round bliss.

May the good Lord continue to uphold and sustain you in His stupendous love and wisdom. Amen.

Congratulations, my dear Son.

A Full Moon

A full moon
never amazes me
ever like before

Whenever I see it
thoughts of my dad
occupies my mind

And I couldn't embrace
cold rays
Instead heat waves
hit my face

A full moon
won't help me pen
verses like before

Cos, It was
On a guru poornima day
On a full moon night
My dad's soul merged with god

It was on July 5 2020 ( A full moon day and also guru poornima) and today is the full moon day of this month and also guru poornima)

Wikipedia:

Guru Purnima (Poornima) is a tradition dedicated to all the spiritual and academic Gurus, who are evolved or enlightened humans, ready to share their wisdom, based on Karma Yoga.[6] It is celebrated as a festival in India, Nepal and Bhutan by Hindus, Jains and Buddhists. This festival is traditionally observed to honour one's chosen spiritual teachers or leaders. It is observed on the Full Moon day (Purnima) in the Hindu month of Ashadha (June–July)

Dad, You'Re the Greatest

Dad, You're So Great To Me
Free Verse

Dad, you guided me when I made my first step
You brought me to school to learn my alphabet
You worked so hard to provide me my daily needs
To me, you are indeed so great

While I'm in school, I think of you
Every day, I want to play with you
I long for your touch and words of wisdom
You're so kind, worthy of admiration

Dad, you're the greatest
!!!!! HAPPY FATHERS' DAY !!!!!!

My Father Ii

MY FATHER II
Free Verse

My Father is a man who cares for his son
Gives toys and hugs so warm
A Man I could rely on
A Man from heaven, he came from

There is an angel God has sent
To preach His Words of wisdom
There is a God-sent angel from above
Who lives with me in my house,
THAT'S MY DAD.

!!!!! Happy Fathers' Day Dad!!!!!.
