Efficiency
I can not leave yet,
the ominous green light on the coffee pot...
just went out,
but the brew inside,
is still hot.
There are a number of ideas,
that would be lost in the shuffle,
if I cleaned my desk.
I can not let that happen.
I must stand guard,
over my own common sense.
As in this case,
it threatens to lead me astray.
My cup is half empty,
I have edited half a story,
and written... all of another.
The day has drifted in and out,
from my world.
I am not concerned.
I am enthralled..., in the moment,
not the minute of the hour.
In the wee beats...
chimes on the clock
the morning announced,
past the noon hour on the other side,
of the world...
I am done.
At least for now.
I can close my eyes,
until the next time,
the clock strikes again;
at the appointed point,
the race starts,
and the words are released...
once more.
Where did I run off to?
The skin crawls.
The eyes see but do not observe.
The ears hear but tune out, as I try to tune in.
Here I remember thoughts that once felt like a plague;
How can I be a better person today?
Whose cup is half empty, aching to run over?
Lately, and for an eternity now, I feel the true ailment,
The winding spiral of nothingness which touches the very pit of me,
from the tip of my head to the bare of my feet,
with the tax of a body to drag along.
A void i prefer to avoid, but is quite fond of me,
embodies me,
while everything internally screams a disabling, prolonged clamor of vacancy;
extinguishment.
Absence makes the heart grow fonder.
Where did I run off to?
Make someone happy
Smile Smile Smile
Make the world better
Smile Smile Smile
Troubles are a plenty
Sorrows we got a few
Problems always pile up
Worries dampen any mood
Too easy to give in
Too simple to give up
If the cup is half empty
A smile can fill that cup
Smile for there is love
Smile for people care
Smile for happiness
Smiles are meant to share
When the world gets you down
The only way is up
Smile Smile Smile
Make the world a little bit better
Start and let fun begin
For when your smiling
That is how happiness begins
