Grim shadows of strife unfold
death and destruction
they have conquered the enemy
children silenced, doctors mourned
murdered the charity workers
murdered the refugees in churches
masses weakened by hunger's grasp
in echoes of desolation
they won
they killed them all
evil no longer exists
if you're Alice in Wonderland's sway,
illusions blur
the devils tongue has had its way

Aim, fire; with each shot, closer, and closer, to the target's bull's-eye

Time plays its tricks in the recesses of our minds;
Like love's lost lament and identity's paradigm.
Nonetheless, we still make our journeys in vain,
As we travel our paths, one step at a time.
Life's generally demanding and not trouble-free.
At its crossroads, we attempt to be wise,
Staying out of the crosshairs of trouble and strife;
Learning life's lessons and dilemma's disguise.
Yet life is quite good and merits our being;
Each sunrise surmounting life's problems and woes.
Love eternally embraces all else in our lives;
Our winters always end, with Spring's, magnificent rose.
As the winds blow in March, in Winter's last, final gasp;
Man's existence is as marvelous, as the Lord's gentle clasp.
