In the crosshairs and blasts

Grim shadows of strife unfold death and destruction they have conquered the enemy children silenced, doctors mourned murdered the charity workers murdered the refugees in churches masses weakened by hunger's grasp in echoes of desolation they won they killed them all evil no longer exists if you're Alice in Wonderland's sway, illusions blur the devils tongue has had its way

Khmer Rouge and the war in Cambodia will be remembered. Thank you for this poem about those times.

Aysha, you point out the absurdity of war in grim detail. What is happening now will make things much worse once the drug and thrill of killing wears off. Strangely enough, I think there are some people in this conflict who believe they can exterminate the other side or who celebrate killing. Hard to understand how this is not some form of mental illness.
