Richard Cory
Edwin Arlington Robinson
I stood there in awe,
Every time I saw him,
The best gentleman we ever saw,
Always clean and slim.
He rarely spoke a word,
But to our surprise,
His voice was soft as the song of a bird,
And caught the whole town’s eyes.
He was wealthier than a king,
Understood things that the smartest person couldn’t understand,
The whole town thought he had everything,
All saying, “I wish I could be that man.”
Every husband worked all day,
Each woman was a full time housewife,
But one morning, we heard them say,
That Richard took his own life.

Cory swore off the needle,
did his best for a while
to keep his beasts at bay,
but @ thirty years old he gave in one more time,
and death quickly came to snatch him away
If you play in a viper pit,
can't be surprised when you get bit
Best not to test it, and on that,
that's all I have to say

Cory and the Black Dog
Cory was a shy boy;
He didn’t make a fuss.
But his schoolmates teased him,
Especially on the Bus.
Black dog quit your circling.
You don’t have to be so mean.
The pain in our poor Cory’s heart;
Was more than could be seen.
His clothes were kind of shabby;
His complexion wasn't clear.
They laughed at his appearance;
For everyone to hear.
An awful kind of sadness;
Took away poor Cory’s light
Black Dog stole our Cory.
One dark, moonless night.
He would have been a soldier
A fine strong young Marine.
But the Black Dog came to visit.
When he was just thirteen.
Black dog what’s your purpose?
You doggone demon elf!
Cory crept into the backyard
And quietly hung himself.

The passion of the soul
there is no stronger force
that surges through our veins
alive in breathless winds
and gentle seas
the spirit soars
never resting..
but living strong within our hearts
For the passing of a young man passionate for life, sea and surf...
and my son's childhood friend...

ANGELS ( Collaboration with Cory Long )
by~ CORY LONG
Angels are all around~
They can be anything holding your hand
when life looks glum
when feeling as though you want to give up
Many things changed when you passed on alone,
scared by myself I will be your Angel.
by~ P.D:
Angels are among us~
walking side by side!
Giving us strength to believe in.
As the day draws close my breath is overwhelmed by beauty.
I open my mind to the flight of your wings.
The fascinating way your innocence sings.
A collaboration with *Cory Long

Like a bullet flying by
You flipped your car many times
Silver Car,
Shattered glass lay in the way
Shattered dreams thrown away
People lined the road where you wrecked
And made a cross in your erect
Memories are all we have
Memories we had
Memories we lost
Memories we shared.
So many tears
Were shed that day
So many hearts shattered in a unkind way
You were loved by so many
So many loved thee
A life left unspoken
Many left wondering
Why such a devasting thing happen to thee?
What good could come of this
What a tradegy
Maybe a soul can learn
That driving fast isn’t fun
A hurtful thing you see
When the one you love
Leaves this earth and floats above
