Premium Member My Friend to the End

I've never a friend like you before
Never a close confidante
The person you are I just simply adore
No better a friend I could want
In common all things, not from bias I say
But the fact is the fact is it's true
Regardless if ever we'll see our someday
My best friend will always be you

Sonnet No1

How do I compare to thee?

Your intransience knows no bounds

Id gesticulate more often than not

Your red Mantra dress knows no warmth

Your like a mermaid uncaught

You're darndest to know

You're like a Newfoundland

Leeching perilous unreason

Your everyone’s confidante except mine

You turn me into wilderness

I do not know my heart?

I am left speechless

On the morning of your coming

you leave me dumb confounded

A Boy's Dream

I'm a single boy with wonderful dreams
Dreams of finding a soulmate matching my wishes
Wishes I formulated from a good morning
Morning to have you forever
Forever until death parts you and me

My fantasy as a boy is not any dream
A dream with my soulmate
Soulmate for me to marry
Marry after a thriving relationship
Relationship with a heavenly angel

Angel and a soulmate to espouse,
Espouse after I've madly befriended you.
You're the love I smell, my unique rose.
Rose and my purposeful confidante.
Confidante for life, good or bad.

That is my dream—to have you
You, as my fitting genotype chum,
Chum, we match behavior and education.
You'll break my singlehood; you're my real crony.

Premium Member So This, My Cat

So this, my cat, my confidante, my friend
His bed, empty now, I cannot discard
A photograph now on the mantel’s end
Beside his toy and a sympathy card

How long the wait, in this vast empty space
Till small sounds spare me the notion he’s back
Yet still shall I ready this special place
For friend and casket and polished brass plaque

You say he’s only a cat and he's dead
Still I make space midst old friends on this shelf
What notions strange and cold dwell in your head
When you have no love but that for yourself

Make light of my grieving if that you must
My cat I loved: As for you… not too fussed!

Premium Member Wings of Dawn

The breeze, a gentle confidante, murmurs secrets in her unbound hair, As she rides upon wings like sunlit ivory, etched with threads of dawn's gold. Her eyes, twin pools reflecting the endless blue, yearn for horizons yet unseen, yet to unfold.

Beneath them, the earth unfolds like a vibrant tapestry, emerald fields woven with sapphire threads of the distant sea. The rising sun, a celestial artist, dips its brush in fiery hues, painting the clouds in a masterpiece for eternity.

The mighty bird, a tireless spirit akin to her own, cleaves the vast canvas of the sky, strong and sure. Together they ascend, hearts entwined like melodies in perfect harmony, soaring ever higher towards the boundless light, evermore.

Disconnected

I stare into the void of glowing screens,
A modern-day oracle, my silent confidante.
How did life lead me to this pixelated precipice?
A chasm waiting to be bridged by strangers' stories.

The hum of algorithms weaves a tapestry,
Threads of lives unraveling, intertwining.
Wars rage beyond the glass, bloodshed unseen,
Yet here I am, eyes fixed on the luminous abyss.

Digits dance, mocking my inertia,
Their binary whispers a curse upon my mind.
I neglect the tangible, the touch of sun-warmed skin,
Trading it for the cool glow of virtual existence.

Forever waiting, forever scrolling,
I seek solace in the electric hum of connection.
But oh, the irony—the more I consume,
The emptier this lifeless screen becomes.

Give me flesh, give me laughter,
Not just pixels and phantom notifications.
Let me break free from this digital echo,
And find meaning in the warmth of shared moments.

Soulmate

There she lies - my soulmate
There, she smiles - my lover and my spouse
She now gets up - and softly strolls through our little house

My partner is always busy - helping others, here and there
Our kindred spirits- first a spark - and then a flame
My confidante through life, she is ever-changing, never the same

My true love will sometimes break down and cry
My true love will at times be in a righteous rage
My sweetheart is not always sweet, but ever instinctively kind
When she gets my attention, claiming center stage -speaking her mind

She is still my soulmate and forever will be - so beautifully human, yet - so perfectly made for me.

Each Day Gets Better With You My Love

As each day passes by,
My love for you grows stronger and stronger,
You have given me so many reasons to want to live this life to the fullest,
I want every moment of our lives to be spent in each others arms,

Side by side,
Never walking this journey of life alone,
Holding and lifting each other up,
Each and every day to make happier memories than the day before,

It always comes to mind the little things you do each day,
It makes me realize how lucky I am to have you by my side,
You know me soo well,
I don’t have to say how I feel,
Just one glance at me and you know my exact thoughts,

This love that we have will definitely last the test of time,
It has grown from strength to strength,
And this bond can never be broken,

For you are my love,
My soul mate,
My confidante,
My best friend,

I will forever and always be yours my love,
There’s no good byes only sweet love,
Happy Anniversary my love

A Friend Indeed

A Friend indeed..

Alone with thoughts of partners long in the past.
Too much time dwelling? She had once asked.
Celebrate those connections truly meant to last.

Through thick and thin, the aim is clear.
Prop each other up, allay the fear
The price, my friend, not so dear.

A laugh, a chuckle bears no cost at all.
Helping each other to rise from a fall.
Kind words are pleasure amidst the squall.

No expectations, no demands.
Empowered, jointly we can stand.
My only desire, to be the helping hand.

Time takes its toll, we must agree.
No time for vanity nor unfilled need.
Confidante, ally..A friend indeed.

Gumpa and Me

We’ve seen a lot of stuff together, Gumpa Bear and me
He’s been my cuddly confidante from one to seventy-three
He’s looking pretty tired now - his fur has lost its shine
His head is very wobbly, but I’m really glad he’s mine

He’s listened to my worries and comforted my tears
Shared a million secrets, banished all my fears
He’s guarded me through childhood, been there throughout my teens
Been steadfast in my adulthood - who knows what he has seen!

He’s kept a silent vigil and watched me as I sleep
Perhaps it’s just a blessing that he cannot speak
But he has a hidden voice you see that only I can hear
Special words of wisdom whispered in my ear

I’ve made him many outfits to make him look so smart
To cover up his patchy bod and warm his teddy heart
He’s looking rather dapper now in navy blue and white
He is my guardian angel each day and every night

He seems to understand me with his gentle brown-eyed stare
I love him more than words can say - my darling Gumpa Bear
I’ll never ever part with him as long as I may live
And then I hope that someone kind a home for him will give

Premium Member My Heart Whispers

The first time I saw you, my heart whispered
In front of you stands someone very special
One that you will love, cherish and adore
Until you breathe your very last breath
She gives you that feeling bards write about
Of total commitment, total devotion, total love
How fortunate can one man be
If you will be my friend, my lover, my confidante
I promise to be yours forever and evermore
My heart whispers to me as I write
This woman that stands before you is THE one
You've been waiting for all your life
Cherish the moment!

Premium Member What You Are to Me, Must You Ask

What you are to me, must you ask?
Then let me say and say it well.
In the past, you once wore a mask,
a face of what I could not tell.
Then, like a god, you take to task
my proud conceit cloaked in a shell.

Today, intense and raven-haired
with wisdom fit for Pallas Athene,
you are the soul that always dared
to be the friend I've never seen,
the confidante with whom is shared
my hope of things that's never been.

Now, like the Atlas map and chart,
you're a compass to guide my paths
through hopelessness that filled my heart.
And so, life's trials and downdrafts
are less severe because you part
my sea of pain so I may laugh.

To Eternity and Beyond

To eternity and beyond
(Dedicated to you M.S.)

And then there you were,
Standing in the sunset.
Looking perfect as ever,
Romeo to this Juliet.

I smiled and rushed down,
Dying to be in your arms.
Smitten by your bright aura,
And irresistible charms.

You are the idyllic answer,
To all my wishes and prayers.
Someone who's my confidante,
Unraveling my convoluted layers.

Stars that shine so bright,
Are the ones that burn the most.
A love like ours soars the skies,
And scales across the coasts.

Passion that burns within us,
Connects us at the core.
A once in a lifetime romance,
Has emerged from a lore.

This bond that connects us,
Is eternal, infinite and true.
We'll always be together,
My sweetheart I love you.

Premium Member Your Confidante

I shall go to my grave with your secrets
Those confidences you shared with me,
Hanging your fears in my roomy closets
Where they stay secure, without a fee.

You can trust me never to expose them
For I highly value your confidence in me,
Believe, I will never criticize or condemn
Accept you for who you are meant to be.

Every person needs a confidante friend,
Who stands with them through every trial
Blessed with a sympathetic ear to extend
I will willingly walk with you every mile.
