Your Confidante

I shall go to my grave with your secrets Those confidences you shared with me, Hanging your fears in my roomy closets Where they stay secure, without a fee. You can trust me never to expose them For I highly value your confidence in me, Believe, I will never criticize or condemn Accept you for who you are meant to be. Every person needs a confidante friend, Who stands with them through every trial Blessed with a sympathetic ear to extend I will willingly walk with you every mile.

This is the kind of friend we all yearn to have "You can trust me never to expose them For I highly value your confidence in me," most do not get one of these.

I feel badly that what you said is so true. We are fortunate if we have one or two friends we can truly call confidante. I certainly value your confidence.

Superb poesy, I think, Milt... And the protagonist is surely a 'bridge over troubled water.' :) gw
