Premium Memberhitchhiking to mars

We’ll hitchhike to mars
on a rocket not a car,
so say your au revoirs.

We’ll steer towards Polaris, the north star
right through the center of the milky-way-bar.
See, the universe is dark and chocolatey.

Stars that glitter like multi-faceted gems,
are just shiny, yellow, peanut M&Ms,
take a handful, if you’d like, they’re free.

We’ll dodge the silhouetted moon,
which is made of enough coconut macaroon,
to make a French confectioner swoon.

As we go streaking, like a comet’s tail,
drag a finger through Saturn’s rings as well,
those are made of marshmallow.

We’ll pass nebulae made of cotton-kandi,
and here’s a fact Einstein would have found handy,
the speed of light doesn’t apply to candy.

My Mother the Communist

My mother was brought up in an orphanage because her father
a confectioner became an alcoholic and lost his job, ended
up looking for work when ships came in and needed dockers
to unload the cargo.
My mother, although working class, was well-read but also
a bit eccentric, she had come to the erroneous conclusion
that only communism (equality in her mind) could bring peace.
It was in one of the papers she read I learned about
Roosevelt’s knowledge of the Japanese Pearl Harbor attack.
I was about twelve years old when she dragged me to
a meeting where two Russian “workers” would attend.
They painted a wonderful picture of life in Russia and
showed still films of happy workers at tractor plant extolling
the wonder of the communist regime.
They also showed us the homes of the workers and later
how happy the land workers were breaking out into dance
in their national dress.
I was very young at the time but was not sold on this display
of happiness, mother said I had no imagination.
My mother continued to believe in communism until
the Soviet Union invaded Hungary in 1956.

I SHALL EMBRACE YOU
"i carry your heart with me (i carry it in
my heart) i am never without it(anywhere
i go you go . . . "
                                   ee Cummings

Welcome I fond one,
Shall I clasp you, embrace you, “sigh”
Yonder, darling shall I grip, I cherish;
Completely with a kiss;

Open arms,
I am drawn;
To you my sweet,
What makes complete;

Oh! Your charm, so clasped in my arms;
Alas, this crush, fills me much doesn’t fit any norm;
confectioner, Of yonder embrasser…

While kissing you ever so sweetly
I welcome you with open arms, let’s hold, hug, accept completely
"I'll carry your heart with me I carry it in
my heart and I'll never be without it anymore
I go you go this I know and I'll do
As I embrace you . . . "

A Confectioner

A Confectioner
A Confectioner had made some Short Bread,
This ran short so an idea came to his head,
He pulled it to make it long,
He was proved to be wrong,
For the Short Bread remained short instead.

Utterly Nuttily Wedding Cake

Brides name is Hazel Almond,
Her groom is mad about Hazel,
Their wedding cake is a diamond
Shape with pecans at the basal,

Between each layer of Genoese
Is pistachio flavored butter cream
That oozes out when you squeeze
a marzipan covering is their dream,

placed on top the lucky couple
Bride holding her sweet chestnuts
made the guests laugh, chuckle,
at Groom with his hand on her butt,

Frosted with royal icing such skill
Showed by confectioner, Andrew
Patissiere well known in Brazil,
Sprinkled with chopped cashew.

A wedding cake that tasted devine
For a couple of same taste and looks
Without each other would sure to pine
because for each other, they are nuts.

Snow Ponies

Paint ponies in the snow
delicate dusting across their backs
like confectioner sugar
sifted
so fine... and
puffy, light, white powder
laying on the land..
Oh how we love
our gentle
Arizona winters!
