Concordant Poems

Premium MemberPearl

Calcium carbonate, crystalline complexion composed
Smooth surface, size, shape, color, and luster superimposed
Born from marine oysters, through bacterial resistance
Rancor becomes miraculously pristine radiance.

Loyalty, honesty, integrity, and purity
Soft yet solid, there's, in it, an inner serenity.
Does it not depict me—a person, friend, and confidant?
With thought, word, feeling, wisdom, and behavior concordant

I am a pearl with calmness within. There's no restless storm.
My unease is quenched. Tranquility has become the norm.
Pearly optimism has paved way for poetic vision.
Revision of mundane beings has become my mission.

Premium MemberThe Fiddler and the Frog

'Frogs croak lured by my tune', the fiddler thought.
He, hence, every day, new melodies, brought.
Yet, it remained a riddle, when they croaked,
When the tunes of his fiddle got choked...!

'There must be some mystery in it, sure,
Though my refrain and rhythm are so pure,
They croak a catchy chorus as frank slides,
Arising from the breaking of tough tides...!'

'Frogs have concordant cords', he realized.
They're divinely prized; highly harmonized'.
He, hence, very little, his fiddle played,
His heart, with songs of frogs, merrily swayed...!

His fiddle splendid new notes invented,
By his earnest work, he got contented;
Were the frogs amused, yet, is a tale new,
Shall I just leave it for the readers’ view…???

Premium MemberWriting - a Blessing

"I have never started a poem whose end I knew. Writing a poem is discovering."
                                                   - Robert Frost

      Poetry is an art
   That gushes from the heart,
When we pen our feelings,
It helps in mind's healings;

I'm sure you're concordant ~
Extremely important
   Is poetry in life,
     It helps overcome strife;

     Unique men and women,
   We fight battles with pen,
We are God's messengers,
Merely His presenters;

He gives the words, we write,
In this darkness, spread light,
   It’s God’s gentle caress,
      Relieves some of our stress;

      Writing poems, we’re strong,
   Trying to right some wrong,
Poetry makes us, us,
Writing is sure a plus.

Premium MemberI'd Find Nirvana

I'd find nirvana, if I could,
on distant coast by lapping bay,
far from all strain of daunting day.

Sustain no drama, as I should,
  an ataraxis of my mind
that is a spot I'd wish to find.

If I ask you to join, you would
  find full placidity flows not
  from finding an idyllic spot.

Unlock this truth that long has stood:
  it's good to know tranquility,
  pursuing kind civility.

Concordant harmony is good;
it's worth our diamonds and bankroll
to own it in our inmost soul.

I'd find nirvana, if I could,
sustain no drama, as I should.
If I ask you to join, you would
unlock this truth that long has stood:
        concordant harmony is good.

Lipogram
A lipogram is a composition from which the writer systematically omits a certain letter or letters of the alphabet (in this case, the letter 'e').

Constanza
Created by Soup's own Connie Marcum Wong, a Constanza consists of 3-line stanzas of 8-syllable lines, where the first lines of each stanza are monorhymed and combined to form the final stanza. The remaining lines of each stanza are rhymed couplets.

Oh mother Nature
you that were born out of the conglomeration of
unbounded energy into matter
under
the auspices of paramount universal Logos
that the harmonious coexistence of opposite forces have
established
by
artfully choreographing their coexistence with the help
of the infallible divine Will
and
were painstakingly interwoven, with the assistance of
mighty space and time,
we humans,
having realized our abominable crimes against you, divine mother,
thus
on our knees we implore your forgiveness
for
our ignorance and our greediness that have put you
through the agony of dying
by
disturbing your concordant operation
for
to satisfy our wretched ambitions disregarding any
other form of life!

Journey of a Thousand Miles

With hopes to get ya glance
I came, all way from France,
Left out, all my intended plans,
Forgot about all my vast expenses,,
To just prove my myriad romance,

On 21st September, i did commence,
A journey of a thousand miles,
To a far world to advance,
To show love of great allegiance,
To express mine, not a mere pretense.

It was a persistent diligence,
An earnest persistence,
It was an evident obedience,
A significant vigilance,
It was a concordant promise,
To never leave ya heart in open space.

Dear, don't be one of disobedience,
Don't initiate an undesired process,
Don't bring down our love's great success,
And from others maintain an abstinence

The Sound of Black

The sound of Black is Thunderous
booming in a darkened sky
that is ominous

The sound of Black is Scary
Black cats and Black-garbed witches
creating a cacophony

The sound of Black is a Croak
from Black crows and ravens
on the branches of an oak

The sound of Black is Beautiful
Black people worldwide
dressed up very colourful

The sound of Black is Concordant
Ladies in their black dresses
looking smart and elegant

Premium MemberRain, Rain, Rain

Giving essence of life,
Insinuating vigor into all mortals,
I am crazy about showers of rain.

These dazzling enticing raindrops,
With angelic mesmerising charm,
Enthusiasm guzzled into us by rain.

Blazing tender emotions in my zest,
Thriving to divulge and flare,
Chilled out by splashing rain.

Unearth thy eonian devotion,
Restoring concordant temptation,
Value the alluring rain!!

Disenchanted Muse

My muse did her fealty recuse
My honor she did stealthily reconnoiter
My discourse was grounds for divorce
Finding my writing no longer enlightening
My blithe parlance no longer my mistress did entrance
With my prose she did forthrightly dispose
Each short she did subsequently abort
Each regaling verse did prudently disburse
Each perforated line truncated with lackluster shine
Each conjured sentence only increased my penance
Each glamorous byline she did smugly decline
Each dilated phrase with a bridling border did encase
Each gilded stanza a burnished extravaganza yielding no artful bonanza
Each tethered word coagulated into a stolid curd
Each bloated quote sunk my creative float deeper in the moat
Each lofty rhyme labeled too smarmy and sublime
My metric time no longer struck a concordant chime
Each literary device neatly spliced would not even a novice entice
Each repetitive, stagnant metaphor made my verse a bore
Each strained, tortured simile engendered no empathy
Each supplanted metonymy a shock wave lobotomy

Poulter's Measure-Lyrically Concordant

Putting thoughts on paper, connoting their portent;
contesting guilt by being lyrically concordant
with symphonic tones of poetical elegance,
expressing a mere necessity rather than extravagance.

Putting thoughts on paper is connoting their meaning,
while being internally stirred by a conversional insight;
so adamant in displaying poetic verses to the living...
expressing dire necessities rather than narrating plight.

Contesting guilt and dissolve its pain begore it gets intense,
sleep restores the weariness endured to achieve the quest;
drastic changes have to be made and be lyrically concordant:
is there anything easily obtained without a sustained diligence?

Use sympathetic tones with no harsh reprimands: shun contention;
your genuine narrative can be epic and assertive enough to convince,
stir clear of hideous ideologies that smother with souls with vengeance:
denial is the culprit of all absurd vanities, repentance leads to redemption.

Premium MemberSongbird

The day the songbird came
the sun shone between showers.
The silence was perforated
with melodious euphony,
the day the songbird came.

The day the songbird came
our melancholy was lifted
with his tunefulness,
his brightness lit our darkness -
the day the songbird came.

The day the songbird came
marked a sad anniversary,
but its memory is diluted with
his sweet concordant sound.
Today the songbird came.

Now that the songbird's here
a passing wave of pensiveness
is pervaded with jubilant abandon
and crashes on the shore of oblivion
now that the songbird's here.

Amazing what a song can do
to dark and sombre mood and hue:
discordant silences harmoniously
transformed to sweet-toned humour,
now that the songbird's here .......

Oh stay, sweet songbird, stay......
