I had to change
email addresses.
I couldn't keep up
with the alt accounts—
ten helpings
of the same subject.

you know they're automatic?
after you sign up
you have to go to settings,
unenroll—
seems like too much.

I'd miss
dopamine's dinner bell—
notifications.
Only to remember:
I was the commenter.

It's a rush
worth the risk—
a chance,
to re-visit myself,
dressed
in your jumper.

Premium MemberProblem Solved

I'm teasing my favorite commenter (you know who you are) - lol!

My friends told me I'm not quite right.
So, I saw a doctor for some insight.
The doctor, at first, could only doubt it,
"I don't know how you live without it.
Medical science must be redrawn -
your personality is gone."

Premium Membervicarious gladiator syndrome

The primeval feelings they court
Are thrills from kills as a cohort
The owners are betting
That this bloodletting
Attracts all to football as sport

Author's note: A celebrity commenter attributed the NFL's recent very high ratings and financial success to everything except the appeal of a violent game. The Romans exploited this emotion long ago at the Colosseum. If I watch a game, I find myself having these feelings, which I do not like. Solution: turn it off and peace out. Am I the only one?

Premium MemberThe Angel Sings- Again

Another genuine soul so sadly departed
So talented a poet and so kindhearted
He touched my soul right from the start
Tears are drenched from my broken heart

A contest poet and commenter too!
Who often remarked on me and you
His voice was heard through and through
He will forever be missed by all that he knew

As we got to know him over year by year
We found that we genuinely knew he'd care
If some other poet would begone, disappear
He too would be saddened and shedding a tear

But trust in the lord, he gave him his wings
Hey Clarence..."Listen" Another bell rings
Poetry in heaven our friend "Milton" brings
To heaven he's flown- the angel sings

*Dedicated to L Milton Hankins

He will forever be missed

Delicate topic here
Got prepositioned
Yeah, was online, but
An awkward position

Commenter asked me
If I needed one
Encouragement, yes,
Perhaps “poem well done?”

But then she got specific
Like “over” and “under”
My neck hairs went up
I was starting to wonder

“Above” and “below”
Heart started racing
I mean, this ain’t the verse
Told my wife I was chasing

If this stuff keeps up
May yank the subscription
Just really not into
Online prepositions

School Is Full of Fun

School is full of fun,
But they say the fun has just begun,
But there are some people,
Who make the ambiance blue,
Yeah, I dedicate this to you,
The unwanted commenter who always beeps in through.

School is full of fun,
But they say the fun has just begun,
Because there are friends that are true,
Who always have your back in the blue,
Yeah, I dedicate this to you,
My friends and my parents who always stick with me like glue.

School is full of fun,
But they say the fun has just begun,
Because there are teachers to guide,
And memories to build,
Yeah, I dedicate this to,
All my favourite teachers who make my day bloom.

School is full of glory,
We all can agree.
Enjoy every bit,
With friends and teachers to avoid guilt.
Break the rules and play pranks,
And you will soon come to me to thank.
Because some day we will say,
We will miss the school days.

And then memories come running back like ablaze,
Then you will say "Ohh! those were some fine days."

“Shame on you, Miss Panagiota!
Your brain must be shaped like
a ripe, aging, spotted,banana.
We only get our kicks from our
own limericks!”

“Thus to your hapless humor, we
jab it with limericksticks,
Refusing to comment to it, no not
one bit.”

Panagiota speaks:
“Ah, but you are blind my friends!
I really don't mind!
I will be the only commenter to
my humor.
Even though you treat it like a deadly,
ghastly, tumor.”

Poem 1- writers about a man, arrested for drunk driving.
Looney Poet- "I never did that!."

Poem 2- writes about alcoholism.
Looney Poet-posts:
" I never was a drunken slob"

Poem 3- writes about a man
unfaithful to his wife.
Looney Poet- " I loved my wife
dearly. She passed and
I would never do that."

Must be nice to be a perfect beast.
My guess is, he lies in all these
arrogant bleats.
                       Why?

There is NO perfect being on this earth.
Poems are written about a poet's experience not you.

Better make an act of contrition. Not one of us are
perfect! Knock off pretending you are.

Poetry Musings at Sundown

                      Where did this day go?
Did it run down the street?
                      It slipped through my fingers,
Like a glowing, rose, satiny sheet.

Up before sunrise, a quill in my hand.
Is this line good..hmm..is it bad?
                      Who am I writing for?
The truth is, I am still learning.

In a thought machine, I get locked.
                      I am no rabid commenter.
                      Not even a poetess divine,
I simply cannot do it all.

                      Just know when evening knocks,
I simply lay down my quill and say
                      That ith humility and equanimity,
"Thank you God, I can do no more."

Premium MemberFor My Friend Ml Kiser

This poem is dedicated to my friend ML Kiser aka WritinStuff
She is a cosmic aware poet; her scientific prowess more than enough.
She delights in turtles, and knows more about them than an average sea cow.
Her poetry is fabulously fun, if you have not checked her out, do so now.

She has been on AllPoetry less time than I have, but she levels up fast.
People enjoy her because she is an avid commenter. Her compliments last.
A musical genius, she understands terms like crescendo and melody.
If I need help with anything, I turn to her, for she is my expert you see.

She is a mystical, magical poet who is not afraid of dragon lore or lair.
WritinStuff is fun to read. You can tell she is delightful, entertaining flair.
She is a great friend to me personally; she is upbeat and positive.
I hope she stays on this site forever; I never want her to ever leave.

Poet Destroyer

To PoetrySoup I’m new; I register and post a song
I enter it in a contest, curious if I’m right or wrong

I get an honorable mention, for the one that I entered
The first comment it seems! Oooh what is it, I wondered

The name of the commenter, I see, is POET DESTOYER
I feel a little scared, is she really a destroyer?

But then I find out, she’s so nice and I like her songs
But what leaves me curious, is her name after all

Every time I visit her page, I know why she’s got the fame
But even today I am curious, POET DESTOYER, what’s your real name???

---
for the contest CURIOSITY KILLED THE CAT HARRY HORSMAN AND MANDY TAMS
although, its true!!
