A Guy With A Golden

A guy with a Golden, a Teddy, a Pearl
A Tucker, a Marley, a Bailey, an Earl
A Samson, a Buddy, a buddy for life
Sometimes there’s a Golden instead of a wife!

A Todd or a Taylor, a Radar, a Max
A Molly, an Archie, a Bella, a Jax
A Kayla, a Sophie, a Luna, a Rod
A Golden believer would not find that odd

A guy with a Golden, no matter the name
Retrievers are always and simply the same
A bundle of loving, all fluffed up in fur
No matter the pronoun, a him or a her

A Monte, a Hudson, a Cooper, a Bear
A Chance or a Boomer, a Patch or a Claire
A Chrissy, a Lucky, so lucky to know
A Golden Retriever, the best in my show

Premium MemberTOO SHORT A STORY

I mentioned as we sorted photos the other day…photos that go back years
how we smiled, laughed, sighed and even shed a few tears.

Some of those tears were for Chrissy, whose photos we found in our pile…
She seemed so happy in our photos…
we never saw the sadness she hid deep beneath her smile.

In fact…that sadness we never saw…all her pain, agony and strife
caused her…when no one was looking…to shorten her young life.

Her life of heartache and suffering must have been so terrible…and with no hope or way to mend it…
she did what 12 teenagers in this country do every day…
she decided she would end it.

I cannot imagine that type of pain…its depth…its size…its shape
that would cause someone so young and innocent…to see death as her only escape.

Chrissy…I hope you found your peace in death that you couldn’t find in life
but I also wish we could have found a way to ease your suffering and strife…

As I hold your photos in my hand…how I wish we’d have found a way….
to make your pain go away…
so you’d still be creating memories
And we’d still be taking photos…
of your beautiful smile…
today.

Premium MemberA Garden Mom

A myriad of enchanting flowers
at grandma's grandiose garden
that bloomed like perennial wildflowers
used to fascinate a multitude of people
who entered the porch
of our century-old ancestral abode.

A kid at seven I wondered
when i heard her every morning
whilst sprinkling them with rice water;
She spoke to each plant in nicknames
like her own children~
Chrysanthemum she called, Chrissy
her ravishing rose as Rossy
her dazzling dahlia as Dolly
her bushy bougainvillae as Bougy~
They smiled and danced during roll call;
And when the evening came,
in magical moonlit milieu
like children at play I heard them
singing sublime symphonies
only for me and for grandma.

My grandma was a great mom~
not only to her children
not only to me
but to all the flowers naive and wild
beguilingly blossoming in her gracious garish garden.

Alas, the garden is gone~
and so my grandma~
I hear the old porch
calling me~
"Come back, my beloved child!".

If I thought you’d risk it,
I’d offer you brisket,
but since you’re a vegan,
unlike Chrissy Teigen,
would sooner be dead,
here, how ‘bout a Triscuit instead?

Not the protein, dear Rico, the fat!
There’ll be no more wheat grass for Jack Sprat.
That unhappy vegan
Has gone Chrissy Teigen,
Is now off clubbing seals with a bat.

 There is no dispute
 That his roommates were cute

All I Want For Christmas

All I want for Christmas is some false teeth
Last set were taken by a dirty stinkin' thief
Came into my bedroom, twas bold as brass
Were soaking overnight in a dirty old glass

Old false teeth had been with me for quite a while
When thief took them he also took away my smile
Now I mumble a lot and keep my mouth closed
Why did they take my teeth? Lord only knows

Santa, I would not be able to eat my Christmas dinner
Since my teeth were stolen, just keep on getting thinner
Personally believe the thief must be simply a bit of a twit
Did he really think that my false teeth, would actually fit

Reminds me of my Grandma, who was frequently quite uncanny
Sat on a chair, false teeth were there and bit herself on the fanny
All jokes aside Santa, to me it would really be such a relief
If you were to put in my stocking, a new pair of false teeth

Showing off and having my photo taken is not really my style
But if you bought some teeth I'd take a selfie, with my new smile
Please dear Santa, it would have me feeling like a lotto winner
Being able to sit with friends again and eat my Chrissy dinner

Email 2 An Ex Chrissy

spose you will ignore me old friend,
but twenty years you smiled,
i was never perfect,
but we travelled many miles,
i have 3 people who won't know me,
mark john and diana, vile,
i know you want your privacy,
gets lonesome just sometimes.

Christine Elizabeth

Two words that bellow in my head
like a bad dream i've yet to awake from,
chasing me like a run away locomotive.
Much anger in these (what should be) two
beautiful words, leaves me numb to the feeling
of real pain.
This woman who would love.comfort and protect
others yet spits her venom on my life...

Fast forward forty nine years, time to awake
and step safely into the comforting arms of my
own creation...

Chrissy Beth...

A nightmare no more...

Field of Dreams

There we were the four of us sitting upon the woods edge.
Breaking all the rules being little fools.
We thought we were so grown up that our problems were that of
greek tradegy.
We talked about sex, friends and all that in between, we had no
clue.
We were rico suave. We'd say friends forever, "blood sisters for
life."
We planned our life on that field. We told our hopes, dreams, and
desires.
Secrets buried in the soul of our youth.
We had our fights, and cried and made up.
Boyfriends brought there, scoring goals every recess.
Baby brawls, we were the rebels without all cause.
We were Chrissy, Roberta, Sam , and Teeny as the whistle blew
again we were
                                                Rebecca, Leigh, Amber, and Tanya.
                                                              Every now and then.

To Chrissy

Her world, her life is falling apart.
Oh, Lord, please mend her breaking heart.
Fix her up, refill her cup. Show her it's not over, that You're always there above her.
Draw her close, wipe her tears, show her Your love and chase away her fears.
The enemy tells her there's no hope to be found, he tells her that nothing's
changing everytime she looks around.
She's struggling thru sorrows, wondering about tomorrow.
But don't let her fear strangle her faith, help her to know that you are in this place.
She's so faithful, even though everything's so painful.
Lord, help her to know that You're still there, and You hear her every prayer.
She's such a beautiful person, especially in Your eyes.
Show her after the darkness comes light.
Amen
