From the time that his two lips are parted
every comment is colored with lies
Every thought is a fantasy version
he creates to respond to the whys
He’s a conman in search of a swindle
intellectually clueless and crude
Riding high on his racist agenda
oozing out with each diatribe spewed
He is angry and jealous and petty
he’s a privileged product of greed
Cheating everyone, everywhere, always
never paying for any misdeeds
Posting nonsense in capital letters
mocked by leaders who laugh at each tweet
Every smile he receives has two faces
as they plan, secretly, for a meet
born a charlatan
he swindled people
spent his life thieving and stealing
never had a paying job
quackster always had a gimmick
get-rich-quick scheme
took lots of honest guys’ money
we cringed when he came to family reunions
Was Sam a charlatan
or was he inexplicably overly-honest?
Weirdly half felt he was a charlatan
A third felt he was inexplicably too honest
The rest did not think of him at all
Choosing to live their own lives
An empty voice with naught to say,
a barrel hollow born
To spout and spew, pontificate,
a hairless sheep forlorn
With lines recopied, often stole,
released, his name to bear
A charlatan of spoken verse
—embezzled words to share
(Villanova Pennsylvania: February, 2020)
Hedonism echoed
every pore of charlatan
bleeding illusion
mirage of grooves of magic
rode hollow soul to the black hole.
A hot air sauntered day, of early June
scalding sun smeared in salty sweat,
tears drenched a ground that afternoon
on which you laid on ice, still in death.
A cold charlatan summer, I'll never forget

The Charlatan
In honesty young Sir, I have good reason to doubt,
When you tell me “My word is my bond.”
I fear your insistent asseveration is but a scam,
With hope to take my chattels and abscond.
You talk in a manner of self-confidence,
It would be easy to succumb to your plan.
A charlatan, a dishonest schemer, a cheat,
Not as you assert, “the epitome of an altruistic man”
I have testimony to your wicked villainy,
From a Woman of good character and trust.
It is self-evident, positively axiomatic,
You are but a common thief;
I feel only disgust.
