There's a teddy bear with his feet in the air
in the middle of the cat's soft bed.
It was his favourite toy, his pride and joy,
'til he decided to rip off it's head.
If you believe as I've come to believe,
that reincarnation, by design,
brings serial killers back, who continue to attack
in the form of a fuzzy feline.
He has a skill for the hunt and the kill.
You just know he's been at it forever.
But the new disguise -those whiskers, those eyes -
well that was damn well clever.

When you don't reflect, on cause and effect, you're leaping right to the middle
With half of the clue, apparent to you, you will never unwrap the riddle
But when you know how
Milk comes from a cow
You'll be over the moon, finish work before noon, cause you'll know cat comes before fiddle
Mommy cat and four kittens
oops, neighbor ran over Mittens
Now four cats still alive
another ran over three survive
Three cats left across the street
since two ran over becoming road meat
Mommy cat with her kittens two
come to my yard wanting food
Get my dogs in a barking mood
that mommy cat and her two dudes
These three cats with the Nine Life Jive
look both ways while crossing street still alive
The street scored two victims could be more
if the cats cross street with pedal floored
Life is fragile times we cry
nothing so sad as when a kitten dies
But we must be strong and carry on
for those three cats won't leave my lawn
Start the Truck Mike...
Of course she's black with eyes of green
disposition keen and cleverly mean
If she cross your path bad luck for sure
a witches curse haunting will occur
She rides the broom stick with glee
she is the witches flying company
The night moon full and cat on prowl
bewitch the souls with her meow
She lurks about and spies
the roaming cat the witches eyes
She sees whatever her cat does see
Witches ways mortals fear and believe
The witches cat hunts for souls elapse
wandering earth before their time lapse
Zombie beings to serve her Master Witch
black cat green devil eyes bewitch and fetch
The witches cat laps her bowl of cream
she stretches and curls by the fire gleam
A night well done as she purrs to sleep
the old witch smiles for her cat she keeps.
Missy Glow said she has giant cat swing; I did not expect this
It must have cost her a fortune, I say to my curious sis
We both go back together to take another peek at this swing
I try to get a price, but she pretends she does not know a thing
It came from my fellow, a sweetheart, an angel, my new beau
I want one for myself, so I try to get his number from Missy Glow
He won’t take your call, he does not know you, she says expertly
I am so irritated I can barely swallow my crumpets and tea
Everywhere I go, I want to cry.
I see a black cat's green and evil eye.
Whether I'm away or at home,
I weep and hear his awful moan.
I look at a constellation in the sky -
it's that cat, and don't ask me why,
but I see his cat eyes in the stars
just before that pound of flesh and scars.
He must be following me around,
on every highway, and in every town.
He's crossed each and every path.
His menacing moan is filled with wrath.
Every time I roll a pair of dice,
he strikes me down like so many mice.
When the hair on his back stands on end,
what does his sinister presence portend?
First, he sent me to my first wife.
Now, I think he wants to take my life.
"Kill me or set me free", I plead.
He says, "A ball of yarn is all I need".

A title can be the make or break
On if a work is read.
If it sparks some intrigue
Then ideas fill your head.
It draws your eyes and pulls you in
To see what can be found,
Just like Glenn Hughes song, "Black Cat Moan"
Has expressions quite profound.
He's on an inward journey of recovery,
Some soul and spiritual healing.
The title alone - "Black Cat Moan"
Reveals the pain he's feeling!
A title can be a prècis of the work
Or it can give readers a clue.
It aids interpretation.
Though that's up to me and you.
So as I write my poems
I'll give some thoughtful time
To create a title that might give away
The reason for the rhyme.
Snotty cat was as stuck up as they are ever made
She wore sunglasses and drank tea in the shade
A fashionista, her pinky finger was up in the air
She was the best dressed cat in the country of Belair
We did not dare speak, she intimidated us so
Her clothing was designer, her shades had a glow
She is a fashion plate special, she has been on a runway walk
They renamed it cat after her, and there was nary a squawk
The golden days begin to fold,
A starlight collision takes the night,
While shadows bleed in waves of gold,
And burn the velvet out of sight.
The dreamer kisses a shattered sky,
As sunlit rays bleed over hills,
And phantom vessels wander by,
To wash the pain of what it wills.
Deep in the soul, a siren cries,
A feline shadow shakes the bone,
Beneath the drift of starlit skies,
The spirit answers with a moan.
I've seen Chaplin in movie reels,
my laughter spilling out in peals,
but cats usually prowl on paws,
and the funniest thing I ever saw
was one on whitewall wheels.
Kinderpaws, the kitty Santa sat on many presents galore
pretty soon one paw was hanging and he was on holiday snore
we tried to scoot him off because it was six a.m. Christmas Day
But Kinderpaws had other plans, he refused to give leeway
A kitten steals your heart
its ballet sublime
Her delicate motions
swipe precious minutes of time
Then just when you say
to yourself, “Alright, that’s enough”
It curls into your lap
~ meows gently ‘midst fluff
Cat was a designer; her creations were fine.
She’s one of mine, bragged her daddy, one of mine, one of mine.
Her mother would not admit it, he was a dog, her dad.
He had left kitty litters all over this valley, he was a cad.
I am designing snowmen today, Cat told her mother.
These rich people are paying me more than my brother.
Her brother was an accountant, so this was a big deal.
She refused to share the money with her Daddy, the heel.
Little bird little bird fly away
the cat's in the bush and you're her prey
Wing it fast and take flight
or in her belly you're an easy delight
That squirrel in the tree chatters loud
that old cat ate his best pal
Other birds have long flown from fear
little bird little bird why are you still here
She's crouched and ready to leap
little bird little bird no time to peep
Just fly away to the moon
leave the old cat in a fit of fume
Little bird little bird safe in the sky
over the rainbow like the lullaby.
where is the cat? I asked my man.
The only hint was a hole in a tuna can.
We searched that house twice, three times, I guess.
that cat was nowhere in this awful mess.
He has escaped, gone out, is lost I said.
My husband made finger circle rings beside his head.
But then there was a meow from the Christmas tree.
Of course, that is where my cat would be.
