Touching to sea essence with their noses
Old men by the seashore
Sails up flags waving goodbye
Gulls laughing
Don Coto's Face brown and wrinkled
Smiles from ear to ear
Prepares for the voyage to gather bounty
From the land the sea to see
The coconut trees
Leaves rubbing against each other
Waiting for their daily drinks to arrive
The sun plays peekaboo
With the rolling clouds of white and blue
Man loading their Cargo
Their wives saddened
Tears flowing
Nearby laughter
Josélito Negrita and Tony
Chasing down fiddlers
by the mangroves
Oblivious they are
Life is just fun and games
Atop the hill
The river flows endlessly
Mi madre Maria tomasa
Is at the river bed
Washing clothes
Andre the fiery
Flamboyan..
She's beautiful, radiant black hair green eyes
Strong yet loving she was
I miss her my family mi familia
My people mi gente
My culture mi cultura
Mi India Borincana
With your music of love
Life and lore
I will never forget you
Dreams never die
Although years may pass
I'll shall return
Just like my
Father..

Premium MemberHeaven Can'T Wait

The skies the sun free birds
High above
Below the mud the blood
One life to go
No warmth
River is running cold
Penetrating to the bone
Curdling screams
Chilling notes
Blood sweat fear
Side stepping thoughts
Down with these mean streets
Pulsating Conga beats
Run DMC run like hell
The Devil wants you
Shades of Spades pastels
Too flowering lily whites
The truth about the truth
Injustice no justice
In God we trust
I'm black and I'm proud
Whales James Brown
Strutting his stuff
But slamming jails 6x6
Awaits you and I
Yo give me no excuses
No excuses from those who cried
To the many that died
And to the ones who survived
No excuses from squandered hopes
Rope a dope
To the ever famous hanging rope
Hooded manifestations
Now you see them
Now you don't
Give us hope
Give us faith
And unity
Montgomery to Crown Heights
WATTS ,damn those Harlem nights
Put your hands in mine
Look up above
All across the globe
Ain't no Heaven until
Your dead .....

Premium MemberThief From the East

We
We're
Born to live
Born to die
But not like this
So unexpectedly so
We were young
We were old
We were full
Of life
We were in
Love in love
With all
They stole our
Hearts
But not our souls
Nor our spirits
We will live On
For all eternity
To see
They came by way
On magic carpets
Riding wayward winds
From the middle east
With ideology beliefs
Concepts not understood
They did
Handshakes and smiles
Creeping like snakes
In the grass
Bombs between
Their legs
They tried to break
And shake us
Killing countless
People
For what
They don't understand
Our beliefs our ways
Perhaps they just don't
Give a damn
But you see
We have Faith
Faith in our Lord
Faith in our fellow
man
So we will continue
To strive for this thing
We call freedom
A passion for survival
Of freedom for one
Freedom for
All..

Premium MemberWings of Time

Peering through portals of time
On gossamer wings
Just past 89
Cherished moments
Crystal bottles
Blue Haze
Memories never fade
Seems like only yesterday
Small tyke I was
Could run like the wind
Running so fast so free
Barely touching the ground
I was on
Feeling sure so secure
Wished it Could've
Lasted forever
Oh those wondrous years
Away and away
Nighty night time travelers
Good night sweetheart
Clocks unravel
Churchbell chimes
The sign of the times
Clocks winding down
Tick tock tick tock
Seconds to minutes
Tick tock tick tock
Hours to day
Day by day
Ebbing nights
Years shine ahead
Echoing our lives
And
Going through time
On gossamer wings....

Entwined
The color
Of mankind
Echoed in
Our minds
The Realities
Of life
Forevermore
The ethnic
Flow of
Our blood
Pulsating
Giving us life
Giving us hope

We were
Color blind
Or
Perhaps
The world
Didn't understand
The differnt
Shades of
Pastels

We were free
Of that kind of
Bondage
That brought
Many of us
To our knees
Even as you
Lay in my arms
Dying
While our church
Was ingulfed
In flames
Whispering to me
Be free my love
Be free
Lesser men would
Have gone mad
You see
But not I
I would not
succumb to
That kind of
Bondage..

Premium MemberUndaunted Flight

Pry me essence
Of honey dew melon
Fat back gimme
Mo collard greens
Gimme essence from
Flavas undone
Marmalade too
Of long ivory tusks
That elephants do
From the flight
Of the whip poor will
Till
The next rains flood
Those plains
Talking bout old essence
Encountered
From far and near
Yet never here
To the dried up bones
That bake in the in the Sahara sun
As the mighty Mississippi
Giving life to everyone
Visions from the native
Child tears from fear
And unrest
While there forefathers
Laugh and cry then
Turn over in their graves
As the millions
man woman child
Hordes
March on on and on
Undaunted and forever ..
Wounded

Premium MemberRosie

Yo listen up babe

Had an ache in my head

So I swallowed a Bayer

Had a slight fever

So I took a chill pill

Had my eyes set on you

And your façade

So I call on sir Cupid

To help me along

With some love potion

Number ..69

Everything was Rosie

So I thought

Rosie this Rosie that

Best I ever had

She was so fine

We danced we wind

And dined

Till the early morning light

It is written it is said

We kissed

And off we went to bed

A dream came to me

Turned into a nightmare

Oh God

I'm Hiv..
