Bugs Bunny loves his carrot snack,
He tricks his foes and never looks back.
“Eh, what’s up, doc?”—his teasing cue,
A clever rabbit who’s quick and shrewd too.
Poet’s Note:
Inspired by Bugs Bunny’s famous 1940 line, “Eh, what’s up, doc?”.

(Easter Bunny Song)
Here comes the bunny with a wiggle and a hop,
Bringing jellybeans and eggs that plop!
With a basket full of magic and a trail of cheer,
He hides little treasures once a year!
He’s got pink paws and a cotton tail,
Zooming through gardens and bunny trails.
If you see a flash of fluff, don’t blink too slow--
That sneaky bunny's always on the go!
He paints with pastels, and he never gets caught,
Delivering chocolate when no one’s been taught.
So grab your basket, let the giggles run free--
It’s Easter morning for you and me!

Conejo Conejito Tango (Bunny Rabbit Tango)
The mesmerizing twilight dims
across a lake a warm breeze skims
Buck, the handsome rabbit drinks,
he has no doe; his love life stinks.
He stares at his reflection, sighs
when suddenly, his long ears rise
he hears a low, soft rustle near
he stands straight up, tries not to leer
but in the gloaming, gold and green
a gorgeous hare, a beauty queen!
With one ear up, the other folds
her peek-a-boo is flirty, bold.
She holds his gaze and lifts her chin,
he charges forward, she leaps to spin
and drops back down, in perfect pose
she lifts her paws to box his nose.
The tango music fills their veins,
the wind blows out their bunny manes
they pivot, leap and promenade
in moon-streaked shadow, cooling shade.
The forward cross, the ocho, turn
there is no step they need to learn
the side secada, quick advance
they both were born to dance this dance.
The dance complete, he falls asleep
she hops away, his snores are deep
She looks back in fondness, glad
she chose this buck to be a dad.
Easter's a surprise;
an explosion of life
That ripe roaring lustre
of fashion and rife
The whole tug tomato
of lavender light
And mole fevered digging
of Hanibal right
For children now zigging
and candy gnawed wiggling
That baskets of wicker
are rabbit bowed giving
And all for a circus
that children delight
When Easter is Peter
and candy his rite

My bunny rabbit is so bold,
always wanting out.
From the hutch I keep it in,
since it got so stout.
Sits there wriggling it's fluffy ears,
and the tip of its pinky nose.
He's such a rolly polly guy,
and knows it I suppose.
Just like me he can't resist
temptation in his way.
Munches through four carrots,
then lays down in the hay.
I'm tempted now to let him out,
just to watch him play.
Brush his long shaggy hair.
But then I know he'll stay.
Because I can't resist him,
and the joy he brings to me.
All evening now we'll cuddle up,
on the sofa and watch T.V.
