Breath
He had a layer of skin
That's wide open
He was suffering as he walked
He was buffering
Carelessly as a stride sought
He'll put his heart up while suffering
Why has it inhaled an exhaled
Lung keeps the flow
Who would know
And he walked through the door
Through the passageway he saw His lungs
moved and all he could do was be strong
... breathe

We sit inches apart,
glowing screens between us,
a thousand miles wide.
We speak in echoes,
algorithm-fed replies,
pre-packaged thoughts
we never owned.
I send you a message.
You send back a reaction.
A digital thumb,
a cartoon heart,
a flicker of presence—
then gone.
We gather in crowded rooms,
silent, heads bowed in reverence
to the gospel of notifications.
A congregation of ghosts,
all here,
all absent.
Your voice is there, but flattened.
Your eyes are there, but dimmed.
I reach for you—
but you are buffering.
And yet, we post proof of life,
a curated display
of curated selves,
hoping someone, somewhere,
will see beyond the pixels,
will touch something real.
But no one does.
Because we are so connected,
yet we can’t see each other anymore.

Satellites triangl'd
cushioning the three
Are you ready to attack
or simply protect?
The answer in heart
of Faith to the
unknown intention
of good
as it should
Could it be the
act of buffering
the gap created
aligning the stars
So long ago fallen?

'Marty King, this ain't my thing
You must be suffering as if your life is buffering'
I reply 'If I was roughin', then I'll take Me a Bufferin'
Eat me some stuffin' and a banana nut muffin
Make me some cheese grits
Then I'll munch on some Ritz
Bump some song that were not hits
The that give me Lovely Fits
The feeling makes me feel all snug
Like a Lavendar Scented Hug
My favorite menus dwell in hidden venues
It's the stuff I'll be ForEver Into
And Will AllWays be diggin' views
For The Search Continues......

I am one of those in a world that stopped
whether it was for seconds, fractions or millennia
but the engine of time broke down mid action
mid conversation, mid thought
and for a beautiful period we were all framed
in a snapshot that may have lasted eons
and some called it enlightenment
and when the buffering released us
all was as it was
and some claimed epiphanies
the only giveaway, a distant house alarm

There is always
a dull longing
that goes unlabelled
and hangs a layer or two
below a joy, a pang
somewhere in the soul
that can't be coughed up
or cut out, just endured.
A nonsense to the skeptic,
no more than perhaps
a twitch of an evolutionary
relic left unemployed within
the brain, now ossified
into an irritant jumping
across the boundaries
of our troubled sleep.
Whatever its origin,
it's always there
be it a hollow left in our psyche
from an umbilical when severed
by God or a buffering problem
in our brain,
the longing never leaves.
We try and quench it
with beauty, love, art
and myth but it remains
unfulfilled, as if a speck
of the infinite resides within
us all, that can absorb
everything we have
and then ask for more.

If not standing on solid ground
Small setbacks can be sapping
Exterior cracks can compound
Stress that was already flapping
Daily difficulties easily expand
Into a full season of suffering
Questions outnumber answers
As stuck in a state of buffering
But able to break free from the haze
Finding an antidote from the craze
Allowing us to escape the maze
Igniting our ambition into a blaze
Despite the swirling above the surface
Can be rooted in a strong home base
With the ability to ride out the storm
No matter what situation we face
Once we begin to turn the corner
Setting our foundation firmly in place
Can tackle any upcoming speed bump
Handling them with newfound grace

The Untold Story
The flashing headlights intensely illuminated the gloomy faces of the sweetgum tree
The tears fell from the sky like God's Shower , constant and cleansing
The troubled night shrouded the steady strolling figures like an unfulfilled corpse
The Killer parked his hesitant vehicle upon the eroded curbside
The indifferent priest discharged his shallow yet nessacery words upon the silhouetted congregation
"We are gathered today to mourn the death of Linda Whittington..."
The words were unclear due to the remorseful rain
Buffering the consolation like a badly tuned radio
Suddenly, an irrelevant relative broke out :
"She didn't deserve to die ...a moment of silence please"
The Killer smirked to himself
As the theatrical tears of distant relatives who arrived for the free food Conjoined with the Shower droplets
Headed towards the drainage
The Killer picked up a pair of sodden dandelions from the moist ground
And heard, staggeringly clearly , through the rain
"Thank you Magnus"
Magnus placed the now blood-stained
dandelions in the grave
And allowed himself to be encapsulated by the determined Darkness

~ Bringing Happiness to This Life ~
We all were no doubt taught, that life is supposed
to make us so glad~
Given the way things are, we are now expected to
be frightened and glum, hmmm?
And if you listen to false news, one does feel really
lost and uncomfortably so numb.
It’s time to awaken, for by your God, you are not for
an instant….forsaken!
For aeons, man has bravely walked this lush, varied
earth.
Survived wars, married, died and produced so many
joyful births!
This is no time to sing a sad, blue tune of suffering.
Time for you, yes you, to bring happiness to this planet
with delight, with your gift of poetic buffering!

A time in history, August 30, 2005
Katrina unleashed her fury
Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama lost lives
Days pass, no help in sight, people become weary
Scenes of tragedy, despair, and suffering
Chaos abounds in the midst of the storm
People struggling for survival, the government buffering
States, cities, communities, neighborhoods torn
Katrina unleashed a colissal fear
With an amazing speed and power
Leaving death in its path, far and near
Swift rescues critical with each passing ghour
Quarter million people abruptly displaced
Multi billion dollar cleanup to be faced
Economies and jobs were lost
Katrina unleashed, what a cost
Dedicated to the people in New Orleans that lost the most

The poet balances heavy heart
for those needing to know of life's art
The poet knows the rise and fall of love
a wave of pure forgiveness streams from above
The poet see through layers beyond pores
the sinews of souls equally exposed
The poet touches rain with reverence
the breath of God forever presence
The poet smell words of antiquity
that soothes and offers stability
The poet will revisit moments of clarity
so as to share what equals humility
The poet journeys towards Sea
sure of buffering by The Almighty.

I was alone in the dark;
Asleep I set my eyes apart;
And I looked up,
I seen a stitch a glimpse of light;
A dot, a jot on the horizon;
Ever buffering growing on slant;
I see the bright;
I'm awakened in the light ;
I'll reach and walk out;
And in the covered past, at last;
I released I the darkness;
I walk away for the light ever shimmering growing brightly
Embracing me the light is sweet;
the dark is bitter I walk awakened in the light I now greet;

Love to live in a digital world
To rap electronic gizmos has become unfurled
Here is my poem to pen my tone
Why should I blame mobile phone
Go on surfing to ponder world news
Frequent buffering make me blows
if the network is ever failure-prone
Why should I blame mobile phone
Downloads and uploads,I prefers to do
Thinking, what next to be in the Data queue
If the memory card consumption is unknown
Why I should blame mobile phone
Ever ready to peek new WhatsApp messages
Gradually switching to scrolling images
If excess indulgence makes me lazybone.
Why should I blame mobile phone
Watching videos on YouTube round the clock
Cannot go on ,Without a glimpse on tiktok
If Pressure on eyes make my sight worsen
Why should I blame mobile phone
With all wishes, happiness, friends and leisure
Still I find flaws in an electronic treasure
My conscience questions me in a halcyon
Why should I blame mobile phone.

Like orbs from other galaxies
They float
Clutching at air to scout out
Another host
An unwelcome visit
Vulture like
And unforgiving,
Photos etched into memories
Appear moment by moment,
The internet engraves
The virus
Into the minds of all...
And now we ponder
Supreme inevitability
As we wipe the grocery stores clean,
Buffering
Against what is to come
Waiting behind Lysol scrubbed doorknobs
As yesterday’s hum of humanity
Becomes a new sound of silence.
