NB - An English/Greek Love Song
Eastern Europe’s shtetl life
romantically recalled
Fiddler on the Roof
beloved by all
Recreated today
in Boro Park,* modernity! *a neighborhood in Brooklyn, NYC
Come see Chassidim
live, learn and pray
Stroll its streets
Blink twice
Glimpse Europe's past
for half the price
Artie Mac was a hero of mine
Singing songs most all of the time
He would never just say Hello
He'd hit you with a greeting from some Broadway show
Man he could sing everything
That voice divine... he was a friend of mine...
Saw him down town sing a cappella
Send In The Clowns in some downtown cellar
The Ayresome Angel from his distant youth
Nailing those notes with a resolute truth
A Holgate man, no fancy Dan
That voice so fine... he was a friend of mine...
One night he's on the stage with J.T.
I looked away but I knew he'd seen me
Get up Lou he shouts, let's do Out Of Time
You and me we do that real fine
Artie and me, rock harmony
Line for line ... he was a friend of mine...
Dying to Live, note after note
I hear this song, lump in my throat
Gone far too young this magical guy
Drink in my hand, tears in my eye
Thanks for them all, duos recalled
Time after time... he was a friend of mine...
Tribute to Artie McDermott who was a great guy, Boro fan and the best singer I ever shared a stage with.
And there has been quite a few.
In the fifties, just a lad
Cheering locals with me Dad
2nd tier, watch 'em play,
Mannion, Peacock, Clough and Day
Swinging 60s, working man
Got the fever, diehard fan,
3rd division, hear the moans,
Fernie, Irvine, Gibson, Jones
70s and flying high
Set 'em free and watch 'em fly
Goals galore and endless thrills,
Souness, Maddren, Boam and Mills
80s now, heartache, gloom
Dying dreams, impending doom,
Bright young lads dispel those cares
Parky, Mowbray, Cooper, Pears
Nineties riches all around
World class players, brand new ground
Things get better, things get worse,
Boksic, Rava, Juno, Merse
Noughties came we won a cup
Sadly down then followed up
Prognosis not looking good,
Southgate, Alves, Mido, Flood
Banners out now Aitor's here,
Time for hope and time for cheer
Hopeful how this one will end
Nugent, Clayton, Downing, Friend
Got it done, got it right,
With the big boys, the top flight,
Staying strong, see this through,
Gaston, Gibbo, Fabio, N'sue.
Paid me dues, done the miles,
Shed the tears, worn the smiles
Shook me 'ead in despair, praise
Times I've had on BORO DAYS.
In the heart of some dark English city
Came a sight that turned everyone's head
When as if from some dream came a wonderful team
In a wild sea of Boro Red.
Through all of my life it's been with me
All the fears, all the tears that I've bled
It wont run it wont yield it's my comfort and shield
This wild sea of Boro Red
Now this is a beautiful color
When I've worn it I've laughed and I've cried
It was hewn from the iron men of legend
And its run through with passion and pride
And now my Red Lion days are closing
As I lie on my funeral bed
I can see once again all those magical men
In a wild sea of Boro Red.
Sorrow soon be gone, glory fill my eyes
Boro I was born and Boro I will die
Never stopped believing, I kept my spirits high
Boro I was born and Boro I will die.

FIRST MEMORIES STEMMING BACK WHEN YOU WERE ON THE DOOR,16 YEARS OLD,MAYBE A LITTLE MORE,ON A STOOL PROPPED OUTSIDE THE ARENA,THINKIN,YERMAN AM SEEIN YA.THIS LAD PLAYING IT COOL N IN THE SAME BREATH AINT NO FOOL. AND TO THIS DAY FROM MY EYES,STRAIGHT DOWN THE MIDDLE, NO HAIRS OR GRACES OR LIES.JUST A BORO LAD WHO HAS FOUND HIS SIGHTS,FAMILY LOVE FOR ALL HE FIGHTS..
RESPECT.
TONY ROBBO.
The first day of a new football season, what does it hold in store
will it be de ja vous,or many goals will score
Boro, always seem, to put you all to hope
the carrot snatched away, but we do have to cope.
It`s always been the same senario, but there was a time
when we hit wembley, twice in one season, and were not in our prime
relegated after, we were deducted points, players we did lack
we held our heads, built our strength, the top flight we were back
Nevertheless, a true Middlesbrough fan, will take the smooth and rough
be it all the good, plain sailing, or just down right tough
but being a mediocre team,we cannot really ask more
what a feeling it is though, when we get a winning score.
.
Our town sports a true passion
middlesbrough f.c. is like fashion
that will never ever go out of date
even though less winning and fate
...Right from back in my early days
i followed the boro home and away
spending weekends and plenty of money
but was all worth it attending wembley.
