A thousand fair suitors all stab at your heart,
those poets of movement and jockeys of art.
The high-volume vendors who hustle romance,
splashing their canvas with color and dance.
The blasters of trumpets, gold banners unfurled,
they offer lush gardens in glistening worlds;
yes, bearers of torches and carvers of stone
who whisper their sonnets and surrender their thrones.
There in your doorway, no shadow is cast,
no lingering voices, no ghosts from the past.
Just a cluster of walls and a window of pain
collecting the heartaches like droplets of rain.
Still I stand before you with palms to the sky,
no gold in my pocket, no position high;
and all I can offer where words have no place
is a heart that is true and this love that awaits.

Gilt-edged first light visions greet
zestful horde in trendy street
Luscious coffee bouncing bean
set alight a dormant scene
Pumpkin seeds dot fresh brown toast
eager staff cool vibrant host
Ghetto blasters rock and blare
raucous voices split the air
Backbeat sold on grey stone curb
manic newsstand with the blurb
Toil worn riser half asleep
speed bump traffic jam’s beep beep
Noisy dockland, wharf or pier
naval fringe cry, coast is clear
Blue horizon sky high quest
humdrum route dull second best
Stock exchange a whirling disc
budding Gordon Gecko risk
Rapid urban belt whose rift
spurs its city’s latent gift

The unicorn eggs had been hidden many fortnights ago,
The last to remember them was a Prophetess named Woe.
She had written down the secret sign to open the safe of gold
But it had blown under the throne room floor and now lay cold.
Because it was their tradition, armed guards continued to stand guard.
No idea they were guarding priceless unicorn eggs loaned by a bard.
A magical castle this had once been, with glorious tapestries and such.
War of the Giant Blasters had torn it apart; now it was not much.
Troupe of faeries were hired. They had given king the smallest bid.
On a mission of hope and faith, for they knew what Wow did.
When they chopped up the floor, they tunneled into the unopened safe.
Squirreled magic unicorn eggs to fairy land for their Princess Grace.
Guards continue to guard the gold safe daily, thinking it holds riches.
It truly is practically empty but sh! None of us want to be snitches.
One day someone will give you some released unicorn eggs.
Then there will be rainbow unicorns prancing about under your legs!

Face to face with the witches of Halloween
curse black jellybeans
Zombie doctors, unbeating hearts out of whack
raisins giving back
Mad scientists, green goggles, double helix
rejecting trail mix
Undead bug blasters, squishing out eight-legged lice
No to apple slice
String cheese does not bring
Candy's following
Face to face with the witches of Halloween...

CRAZE DURING FOOTBALL GAME
Up yellows; greens; reds and blue,
tell me! Tell me, who is through?
Passes. Crosses. Headers. Shots.
Volleys, blasters, more scissor kicks
tell me! Tell me, whose on the spot!
Ninety minutes with some overtime
eleven players playing in the field
each one targets to be World Champ!
The strikers and defenders immense
so are Audience claps, dance, rants!
Dripping sweat from turning, running
Tension rising! Twists are rocketing!
Audience wriggling, nonstop cheering!
Thriller, action, comedy plus tragedy,
Oh all are drawn by its classic drama.
Perplex hard attacks, clever corners
rise from a penalty or free kick yell!
Elicits an alarm to goalie keepers' eye
He in eagle's arms and kangaroo leap
Tell me! Tell me, has one scored a goal?
Around the globe, fellas or gents in craze,
amazed and tantalized by Football game!

Your heart has long since
Ceased its rhythmic beating;
Your lungs no longer move
And you are no longer breathing;
Because though you were the victor,
You had to give your precious life
In order to save us from
This formerly unbeatable strife.
And yet despite the many years
That have passed since then—
Seven long years, as of today!—
Your name is not forgotten.
We still remember all the times
You urged us to use our voice
To overthrow what we knew was wrong;
To make uplifting noice!
You reminded us that
Bulletproof was our future
And that only we decide
Our success and our failure!
You taught us to rebel
To sing from our pounding hearts
Never allowing anything
To take our tomorrow apart!
You proved that we held the key,
The blasters and the poison!
And your voice, your art, your colour,
Your party, they all carry on!

In the lives we live today;
people have more time to play.
perhaps because the toys are faster;
with video games and loud sound blasters.
Online gaming sites galore;
people are still demanding more.
Games to play on their smart phones;
they can easily just play them alone.
Exercise games for television;
at least they are, within reason.
Tablet games and movies too;
sporting games as well; who knew?
Best of all, board games are back;
and I still have the winning knack!

Incredible as all of this may be,
And just as brilliant as our fate is,
You are my unique lift to my wiz!
So it looks like it is you or it’s me.
We’re in the winds and we both run free.
All of this is hers and it’s every bit of his.
Those two are master blasters put to quiz.
Together they locked eyes eternally to see.
They are dancing on the Moon,
Or they are singing to the Sun.
Their love has come too soon.
Now familiar renewal has begun.
They are in full bloom with a force that is most incredible to blossom,
What a glimmer in their glare they sand blasted out of awe to awesome!
