Premium Member Beads of Harmony

disintegrating all language barriers
she smiled
and pulled me in with the charm
of a profoundly serene magnetism
the epitome of peace and harmony
nodding offered me a card
I took it and she smiled
nodded and showed me
a rainbow of bracelets
from the many colors I chose one
exchanged it for a handful of bills
she smiled some more
I walked away
each bead
around my wrist
a reminder of her smile

Hijacked Identity

I will never know why, a baby of four months,
I was left abandoned, trampled in dirt.
At the mercy of adoption.
To fill the void of ache of a childless couple.
Clueless of the abysmal despair of my mother
I still track my genes....
Did you rock me back and forth...
before I fell asleep.... in doorstep of that police station?
I crave for that last helpless kiss you gave me.
Love.. is it really stronger than blood...?
Then why a sting slaps me every moment of my life?
Why ridicule of rejection boils in cauldron of my mind?
This vast house is full of strangers.
I fantasy you, my mom, in empty pictures hanging in air....
Your eyes must be brown like mine,
the same looks.. someone.. somewhere lies obscured.
my father? elder brother? little sister.?..

My identity hijacked....Who got the ransom?
Only a lonely tattoo mocks me.......
I have to be grateful for a love that forever hurts.

the long ringing hum
of the singing bowl
releasing its holy om
enchanting coasting gliding
hovering in mid air
till elevated to a higher realm
betwixt heaven and earth
mingling with celestial spirits
of obvious angelic descent
connecting mortals with divinity
a chant to intertwine the two
mythical mystical
blessedly delectable

Premium Member Cardinal In Spring

A cardinal whips its trilled zest
Where fields extend into a mile;
That upon bright April's request
My toes wiggle here for a while...
I pause as sunrise paints hued light
By rolling through ridges, how free!
Till more birds arrive come near night
When dreamy hours grant spring's marquee.

Our Rock

When life ends, as it must,
Our time here is finite.
As our bodies turn to dust,
We returneth to his light.

As we close these mortal eyes
And earthbound ties are ending,
'Tis only flesh and blood that dies,
Our spirits are ascending.

For the Lord, he takes our hand
The shepherd tends his flock,
He takes us to the promised land,
Our guardian, our rock.

I fear not, for I know
The Lord he cares for me,
I will walk through heavens gates,
For I follow he.

Premium Member Cold, Cold Winter

It wields misery like a knife. And there's no magic wand to be waved
To make it fade into oblivion. It leaves me suddenly hankering
For the halcyon days of summer. There isn't enough warmth saved
It's chillingly cold, and I can't shake my incessant shivering

'Tis a cold, cold winter. Brutal as can be, and summer seems far away
Oh, how it keeps hovering in the air like a flickering hummingbird
Days are quite long. Time, as still as the snow covering my doorway
Am I supposed to grin and bear it? Carry on day after day undeterred?

It wields misery like a knife. The gust of wind it blows is terrible
I wish for rain to rid the onslaught of snow, it's white hue is blinding
Is this winter at it's angriest? The misery it has unleashed is insufferable
Rays of afternoon sun shall dissolve it sooner than later, I'm hoping

I yearn for spring, in all its glory. It will arrive before long, I pray
Cold, cold winter, please, please, please; finally be on your way

Premium Member Ballad For a Man Walled In

Languishing inside a cell(his demons) so fierce
                    and punishing; isolating loneliness pierce
the core of his misery. Every so often,
he feels claustrophobic, as if inside a coffin.

Many hours have passed, and he's been calling
out to no avail. His hands, bruised from pulling
on the padlock. His throat, hoarse from screaming
unheard. It's a hellish place! His spirit, depleting.

At nightfall, the scintillating ray of right
shining in, steals away. Near fight or flight,
he screams, and screams; there's no hope
for a rescue, and he's struggling to cope.

But he's not looking at the four walls trapping him closely.
There are cracks on one side of the wall; kicked forcefully
the wall will come crumbling down like a house of cards.
Kicked forcefully, it will shatter like glass shards!

       I wish for him to break free like a fledgling in maiden flight;
to break free and soar up, up and away like a kite
I wish for him to knock down the wall of his prison
and break free, tasting the air like a Phoenix risen!

Premium Member On the Shore

As I face the shore, I gaze upon
                A half-buried orange sun
             That illuminates the horizon
                Time stands frozen here

                Dusk is fast approaching
The tide is ebbing and flowing
                   Continually crashing
                 Into my welcoming feet

                         Soon to erase
                My footprints in the sand
              I'm savoring the tranquility
                  And refreshing zephyr

I wish I could spend the night here
I crave these precious, lonely moments
                    This is where I find
                     My peace of mind

Premium Member Specially Beautiful

God made all things beautiful* in His time
Such is clear in the Scriptures with truth’s chime.

Special children are beautiful indeed
Freely spirited of pure gladness-seed.

Though diagnosed with cerebral palsy
They’re gently upheld by the Lord’s mercy.

Facing developmental challenges
They exude God’s love in their growth’s changes.

Their quirks show clearly their distinct nature
Of care-needing gesture midst joy’s posture.

With their child-like faith, they truly inspire
Thru genuine concern for which they aspire.

Devoid of greed and covetousness-blight
Their simple fascinations bring delight.

Exemplifying wondrous contentment
They cheer with satisfaction's fulfillment.

Their ready mirth expressed by wide grin-smiles
Shout grateful hearts of marvelous lifestyles.

Patience-glow from guardians brightens their days
Along helpful ways of compassion rays.

*Ecclesiastes 3:11 He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.

             Camellia starting in late Summer

         Yellow-bronze curly chrysanthemum,
          Longer blooming sparkling spectrum
                    dazzling dancing in Autumn color.

Apples look dark dense deep intense red.

Premium Member Coherent Thoughts

Truth could not be eclipsed,
And you said it was a joke.

There was a mystical feeling,
Behind your saying that you
didn't care.

I could feel obscure pain
beneath,
And you said it was alright .

A desire was shrouded,
Once you said I should leave
you alone.

An Imperceivable feeling was
sensed,
And you said you didn't know.

I could feel you in disguise,
There was a silence of deep sea
water.

Premium Member Snow Globe Refreshment

Presenting to the emergency room, patient "BB,"
a dad who swallowed a snow globe carelessly.

Out of ALC, voices crying, "YOLO,"
PO, he took a big gulp of fantasy snow.

NAGI, his stomach churned immediately.
He could hear little elves dancing with a BEG.

Brought to the ER unconscious with HBP,
HAGMA, and tachypnea, unfortunately.

A CT scan revealed a kidney infection.
MDs dispensed an antibiotic injection.

Dialysis was administered, but he was still KO.
His kidney's were decorated in crystals of "snow."

Ten WKs later he could walk again (to the bar),
but will likely need dialysis 4EVR.

You are what you eat, (BB made a recovery)
but don't be a snowflake, the moral of the story.

(Watch the attached video for the full story.)

ALC- alcohol
YOLO- you only live once
PO- by mouth
NAGI- not a good idea
BEG- big evil grin
ER- emergency room
HBP- high blood pressure
HAGMA- high anion gap metabolic acidosis

Premium Member Moonlit Xanadu

Last night, I dreamed a dream I'd never forget
When my tired eyes sealed shut at the tail-end of dawn
Morpheus spirited me away to a moonlit Xanadu; a sanctuary
Of beauty and peace. What a dream! It was my safe haven
For an entire day. I had fun! I wish I'd revisit again and again

There, all the troubles of the world are non-existent
It's an otherworldly getaway I wish you'd see for yourself
Akin to an Elysian field; absolutely captivating!
You'll be overwhelmed by a multiplicity of dazzling sights
At dawn, butterflies were fluttering in clusters

Over the field, as if all whispering secrets to each other
Hummingbirds were hovering from one bloomed flower to another
And I danced with the nymphs under the afternoon sun
On an elevated tree stump, I sat as though it were my throne
What a view! I could see the gorgeous scenery for miles

There, at twilight, fireflies swarmed the firmament generously
The stars were sparkling like diamonds, and birds were tweeting
Just for me. Moonlight shimmered on a small pond; fishes
Swimming under all happy and carefree. What a dream it was!
I wish you were there with me, my true...

Premium Member Catwalk of Life

Two-hundred dollar hairdo
Cascading off her shoulders
Dressed in a little black dress
And Louboutin stilettos
Leaving behind a trailing cloud
Of extravagant luxurious perfume
Flaunting the tiera of a princess
Strutting down the catwalk of life
Walking five inches off the ground
This svelt slanky body devoid of carbs
Ruby red lipstick over a flashy smile
Crystals dangling from her ears
Bejeweled gems round her long bare neck
Glancing at you with her kohl-accented eyes
An exuberant smile exploding with the
Confidence of youthful carefree buoyancy

The Beast

Dawns light slithers in, and it scratches your soul

The days eviceration about to unfold

Your mind all a jumble, your flesh all a quake

And you wonder inside " How much more can I take"

Will you hide behind fortress of opiate walls

Do you muster your strength, do you answer the call

The Beast sallies forth, to gnaw on your bones

And you feel your heart flutter, arythmical tones

The Dragon comes hard plunging straight to the quick

You lie there a quivver, your vessel so sick

Your hands fumble blindly for vitreous pill

Will it's weird grace you health, will it's ire turn and kill

You draw crystal daggar, plunge it deep to the hilt

Its potent elixer no drop to be spilt

The Beast flays you liver, you mouth silent sighs

And your throat, without will, cries the smallest of cries

"Oh my God share your mettle" your prayers rise above

And He comes down and kisses your wounds with his love

The Beast vents it's fury, apoplectic with rage

For you both know it's victim has just turned the page

Still the Beast is not finished, your temple to wreck

And he slides up your back and crawls onto your neck

He pummels your skull, sodomizes your brain

His claws scourge your eyes and they bleed steely pain

His feet rake your gullet, your vomitus vent

You fall to your knees, all lifes oxygen spent

But your lance has struck true, and the toxin well laid

You know that this vile demon soon will be slayed

He howls out in anguish, and hides from your light

He slinks from your presence, flees from your might

You have spit in his eye, pissed and shat in his nest

Castrated the Golgoth, shrugged off his best

So you rise to your height, wipe the bile from your chin

And your lips they invoke the subtlest grin

For the Love of your God, companions and kin

Have made legion your forces, the beast can not win.

Your mind feels the grace that your faith doth supply

And you know to your core THIS MONSTER WILL DIE.

Grace and hope to us all

      Walter
