Beads of Harmony

Listen to poem:
disintegrating all language barriers she smiled and pulled me in with the charm of a profoundly serene magnetism the epitome of peace and harmony nodding offered me a card I took it and she smiled nodded and showed me a rainbow of bracelets from the many colors I chose one exchanged it for a handful of bills she smiled some more I walked away each bead around my wrist a reminder of her smile AP: 3rd place 2020 Submitted on February 5, 2019 to contest FEBRUARY WK 1 sponsored by BRIAN STRAND - RANKED 1ST Originally posted on January 25, 2019

Wonderful poem, I see you at the flea market and the bright colors catch your eye and the girl catches your heart. Time stops and you are both focused. Communication doesn't require words. You walk away happy admiring your bracelet and she turns happy that she brought in money for her family. That is the real value of the bracelet, priceless!

Fascinating study in humanity, human relationships, and pure marketing at its finest (non-electronic ! to boot). Best wishes, Gershon

This fascinates me for many reasons; 1 - it is an ordinary moment made poetically extraordinary, and 2 - that woman was to you all that your own perspectives made her to be, a joy feel she couldn't taint by speaking. Gives me pause. Maybe the world would be a better one if we were all mute (kidding)! Obviously, I enjoyed this and got much from it to ponder! Poetry hugs ... CayCay
