Best Watchful Poems
waterfall spirits rise
dreams drown
under pressure to perform
elders swarm
like naked children at the lake
just laugh at those mistakes
no one really understands
past present we pretend
watchful eyes never end
lifelines protected perches
hold on to our saving grace
heads high there's a world to face
The Bulldog leashed, back in his yard.
It's time for rest, he played his card.
The job at hand, has now been done.
He now shows peace, for everyone.
Be still young heart, you've earned your rest.
You fought the fight, you gave your best.
Peaceful thoughts, they now will reign.
We now can write, all free from pain.
The noble ones, they lay and wait.
Behind the scenes, they watch their bait.
They watch and wait recording all.
They may be quiet, but fake the fall.
Enjoy the Sun, this Dog's forecast.
Enjoy this treaty, I hope to last.
This loyal friend, knows not surprise.
The Bulldog keeps, a watchful eye.
My soul surrenders and soars like the elegant eagle
As my mind melds of the wolves wildly witted
Experiencing mother earth thru the eye of the needle
Frolicking forests as is perceptually permitted
The eagle explores over the running raging river
Thru eagle eyes I see the rivers enchanted edge
The wolf watches his prey who quizzically quiver
For both partake in a platonic paradisal pledge
I hunger like the wandering wolf and patiently wait
And the eagle takes me to far off landscape lands
For thus I use my written words as bantering bait
Thru poetic pacification my mind masterly expands
Of the watchful wolf and the elegant eagle
Admiring art perched on the artist’s easel.

SPIRIT GUIDES - Contest

A weary sky settles
low on a bed of soft sand,
eyes closing,
and drifts in dreams
of agile hands –
hands birthed from
crystal clouds,
rising and falling
like a breath
calling, haunting
from the ages,
beating aloud like the pulse
of man’s muse –
sculpting, painting, inventing
an artist’s sanctuary.
A sparkling sky witnesses,
with eyes wide,
beauty and imagination
birthed from inspired minds,
and wakes from dreams
of agile hands creating
an original portrait,
a unique expression.
With a wink from
the eccentric and
offbeat clouds,
a communal museum,
comes to life -
a labor of love
shrouded by sky
on a bed of soft sand.

With quiet reservations he admires
Attuned to all that senses captivate
To sift thru information he acquires
Considering how it may thus relate
He studies all with intimate precision
For his or any sake that might arise
Unless the fates intend on a collision
Leave supervision to HIS private eyes.

To the casual observer, even to herself sometimes,
She appears calm and collected.
But inside, the She-wolf stands on high alert,
Ever watchful, in a fierce state of attention.
Her eyes intensely attuned to the subtlest movements
In the world around her.
Her ears pricked up, listening
For the slightest sign of possible danger.
Her keen nose sniffing out any scent of mal odor,
portending threats to her well being.
Every muscle and fiber of her being ready
To move swiftly at a moments notice.
Don’t let her seemingly serene demeanor fool you.
She is ferocious and poised to pounce, in an instant.
She will attack and bite your head off, before you even know what hit you,
Just to protect herself and the young one inside.
Still we hold a colour at our watchful eye,
a voice in our attentive ear.
We escape nothing from our mystifying past.
Perhaps we sing a song, old or new,
feel dark or light against a so unsheltered face.
In ears a voice remains.
In an eye resides the face of a loved one.
Colour, voice, songs will never leave one's life,
though one stands before that loved one's grave.

When you see the desolating (Emptiness or destruction) abomination (a thing that causes disgust or hatred) standing where he should not
Then those in Judea must flee to the mountains
A person on a housetop must not go down or enter to get anything out of his
house
And a person in a field must not return to get his cloak
Woe to pregnant women and nursing mothers in those days
Pray that this does not happen in winter
For those times will have tribulation such as has not been since the beginning of God's creation until now
Nor ever will be
If the Lord had not shortened those days
No one would be saved
But for the sake of the elect whom He chose
He did shorten the days
If anyone says to you then
'Look
Here is the Messiah! Look
There He is!
Do not believe it
False messiahs and false prophets will arise and will perform signs and wonders in order to mislead
If that were possible
The elect
Be watchful
I have told it all to you beforehand
But in those days after that tribulation the sun will be darkened
And the moon will not give its light
And the stars will be falling from the sky
And the powers in the heavens will be shaken
And then they will see
The Son of Man coming in the clouds
With great power and glory
And then he will send out the angels and gather his elect from the four winds
From the end of the earth to the end of the sky
Learn a lesson from the fig tree
When its branch becomes tender and sprouts leaves
You know that summer is near
In the same way
When you see these Things happening
Know that he is near
At the gates
Amen
I say to you
This generation will not pass away until all these things have taken place
Heaven and earth will pass away
But my words will not pass away
But of that day or hour
No one knows
Neither the angels in heaven
Nor the Son
But only the Father
Be watchful
Be alert
You do not know when the time will come
It is like a man traveling abroad
He leaves home and places his servants in charge
Each with his work
And orders the gatekeeper to be on the watch
Watch therefore
You do not know when the lord of the house is coming
Whether in the evening
Or at midnight
Or at cockcrow
Or in the morning
May he not come suddenly and find you sleeping
What I say to you
I say to all
'Watch
[MK 13:14-37]
high eyes, watch below
waiting for moment to strike
run, run rodent run
I face the world with a SMILE; no one knows what is hid inside.
They see only happiness, can’t see the tears I've cried
When I am alone I HURT, because here I do it well.
In front of all the watchful eyes my HEAVEN turns to HELL.
The judge and jury awaits me, everyone has a say.
In a life that hangs suspended for yet another day.
Who are they to judge if what I have done is right or WRONG?
Why do they stare? Trying to look concerned about what happens to me, **** YOU…..
They say that life goes on and someday I'll SMILE again.
But, how do they know my pain without being where I've been?
I'm trapped, stuck under earth, so **** what you THINK
I Deserve... I've been DEAD since BIRTH..
It isn’t quiet yet it’s silent
The raindrops and frogs ooze sound
But the heaviness, the hushness, the cushioning violence
Tell of monsters laying around
To feel the transition to winter from fall
Is not a temperature or petty sight
It’s a feeling, it’s heavy, you can hear it’s call
That strikes fear into the night
Fall is friendly though perhaps cold,
And the rain, a delicate drink
Winter grabs the wood in a breath blocking hold
Daring it to think
For that is the feeling, the feeling of waiting
Feeling watched, with eyes that burn rather than soothe
Breath held in panic, hackles raise and hating
Feeling watched in your every move

Key Verses– Mark 13:33-35 Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. For the Son of Man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch. Watch ye therefore…

He stands over us
always with a watchful eye.
Guards the universe
since the beginning of time
forever until the end.
inspired by another member's poem
Everyone has a guardian by their side.
Walking with us stride by stride.
Sometimes we see them in a different form.
They might be a feeling inside us that is warm.
One day it might be a man we walk by.
The next it could be a little girl saying hi.
We can't know what form they will take.
But don't be fooled, inside a dragon can awake.
They are not here to fight our battles or war.
They are here to show us that we are more.
Whispering to us that we hold the power over our fate,
we hold the keys to the worlds we create.
This is a day of real deep declension
the clouds look to be drawing near
Jesus warned us of such an evil day
when mankind will have much to fear
This world has consistently rejected God
more and more as the years have gone by
they're without excuse as judgement comes
then the great judge will declare you must die
Peter warned of this in his first epistle
telling all that the end was in sight
exhorting believers to be much in prayer
making sure our pleadings go into flight
Be praying with a real seriousness
making sure to be contacting every day
with your saviour and Lord who hears you
He will listen carefully when you pray
Learn to be ever watchful all around
be on your guard as Satan seeks to attack
on your knees looking up for God's provision
then the Lord's armour won't ever crack!
('But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers.')
1 Peter 4: 7 (NKJV)
