*Don't Be Afraid to be Different*

~Don't be afraid to be different!
Do be afraid to be the same as
everyone else~

I have never understood this insane passion!
But I see it everywhere.
People selling out their souls and
principles like cheap underwear.

Anything. Anything to be loved and accepted.
Have you seen this insanity, too?
Just keep your true thoughts to yourself, so
you can be part of the human zoo?

What's so wrong with being you?
You.....like everyone, made by God.
I know the feeling of hush-mouth,
when I want to fully express myself.

God and politics, what's all the
commotion about?
Frankly, because there is only one
God and we were brainwashed to
think anything else.

In politics, only evil rules!
If you dare speak of success or goodness.
Well, the great sentence placed
on you, is that something is
terribly off with you?

Free speech in the USA, is but a sliver.
Mention the First Amendment,you
see people's lips quiver.
The march to watch your mouth
is absolutely full-blown.
We poets must develop the courage,
to make our words stand for freedom
and to be our very own.

Yes, you may become unpopular in this
uncomfortable process.
You have to decide whether to wear a cute
and pretty dress.
Perhaps that is all you are able?
Or don the golden robes of integrity and truth,
that are so divinely impeccable!

Premium Member My Garden of Gratitude

If things are changing for the
better in you,
Be certain this supernatural
wonderment is happening in
the world, too.

Rejoice, pray and sing.
Even though we look around and
see horrid things.
Find God, in the most negative
circumstances.
Allow your soul to do graceful
soul dances.

Gratitude overcomes negativity,
Even though hurtful emotions be.
Do not worry about anything!
Pray instead about everything.
Tell God what you need!
Ride a strong and hopeful steed.

Now and then, we all feel rejected,
Pray! Pray..God will never let you
be neglected.

Thankful lives are magical lives!
Our energy and spirit thrives.
You take charge of your emotions.
Pay no mind to worldly commotion.

Pray God for everything and anything.
Your voice will both laugh aloud and
sing!

No complaining, watch your mouth!
Or honestly, things do go south.
Don't compare yourself to others!
Under this load, I know, how much
I terribly suffer.

Be content, put your mind at ease,
Or else negativity is a creeping
disease.

Marilyn Monroe

Marilyn Monroe
Many hear that name and cringe
It's been said that she was off her hinge
But what if she were born to a wealthy home
She may have been a name unknown
Say her parents had given her a head start
Paid for a college degree in fine art
Would she have kept her birth name and closed her legs
Been held together with high society pegs
The answer to this question is not opinion, but fact
No one will ever know, so watch your mouth and have tact
She was an exquisite lady built from turmoil and sorrow
Not a dime in pocket, even her name was borrowed
Do you know what it's like to have nowhere to turn
My guess is you would struggle to discern
Reba said it all when she described "Fancy"
Fewer choices, less foundation, some simply can't see
So before you judge, try wearing her high heels
With a wink and a chuckle, enjoy fine meals
Mr. President may be married to a lady on a pedestal
But if he were happy with her, do you think he would gamble
Perhaps she was kind and thought First Lady was her calling
But with food and shelter, would you hear her bawling
Many would disagree with these words I have spoken
They are probably at home, in their hot tub soaking
The point of my defense is not to justify
But give you a thought, in case have no supply

As of today you need to watch your mouth and what you say.
We have always been able to hurt someone's feelings by our words.
Tell them off or bring them down.
Now do it and you will be fined.
First time $500.00.
Each time after $1,000 each.

Mouth

I love to watch your mouth move
The way you lick your lips
How you roll your tongue across your teeth
I wanna take a sip
I wonder what it'd feel like
To brush those lips with mine
To bite those puffy pillows
To dance our tongues in time
I want to kiss you deeply
Make you lose your breath
Release this maddening passion
That torments my soul to death
So if my eyes fall to your mouth
Then quickly look away
I just need to hide this secret
How I want you in this way

A Slowing River Still Runs Deep

All I did was blink
and suddenly frail and forgetful
had stolen the vibrancy
I’d taken for granted.

Your look still bears that familiar smile
which sparks an ebbing life
and brightens dimming eyes.
But when you think
no one’s watching,

I am…

as this consumptive malaise
pervades your sagging face
and spirits you off for poppy naps,
the flickering star-light fades,
I watch your mouth turn down
In that soft dreamtime curve
and my heart cries the river
that floats you on eddies
of timeless sleep

I know a day will come
our connection will be broken
your star gaze will not return
and I’ll cry a new empty ocean.

But until then,
in sleep’s folded caress
a slow river runs calm,
its watery fingers polish
the unforgettable shine
on the touchstone
of my love,

hoping its undying spark
reawakens you.

Ww2 Poem

Look back on the war
All that corruption
Caused by a world,
A world of destruction

All the men
Who gave their lives
And left their home
Their families, their wives

Hear the guns
Trilling out death
And through their helmets
All smell is their breath.

Into the muddy trenches again
Their retreat, their haven
With rats running over the dead
And flying over head is a lone raven

At the crack of dawn
The brave soldier awake
To the cry of guns
Enemies collecting every life they can take

They are everywhere
All their spies
Your friends, your neighbours
With evil in their eyes

Watch your mouth
Watch your back
If you do
You’ll remain intact

No real funeral
Only a shallow grave
On the battlefield
For one so brave

And what of the families
They left behind
To do good
For all mankind

Eventually we won the war
But at what cost?
For now we wear a poppy
To signify the ones we lost.

On Migrating To America

Migrating to America
In the age of Aquarius
Envisioning the best from the
Land of opportunity where it’s been said
Streets are paved in gold
Everyone has a white picket fence and
A Chevrolet too

The corner hop served burgers and fries
Soda fountains and milkshakes at the Five and Dime
Teens danced the twist and the mash potato
On American Bandstand
And kids played under open fire hydrants in the city

Black is beautiful…
Short afros large afros and James Brown
Tell the people “Say it loud, I’m black
And I’m proud” Bill Withers on the radio
Singing ‘Lean on Me’ and
Shaft is a ‘Bad mo fo… watch your mouth’

Watts turned into ash driven by black rage combustion
Fed up with police brutality still fresh on everyone’s minds
Jesus Christ is a superstar on Broadway
Harry Krishna and the Moonies in orange
Garbs and shaven heads trying to transcend souls
With their tambourines
Flower children preaching peace and love
Pot is something you smoke
Hot pants are short shorts
Worn with boots made for walking

And Uncle Sam wants you
He’s giving a free round trip ticket to Vietnam
While young men dodge the draft

Welcome to a new dawning in the age of Aquarius
Migrating settling in a new land
Leaving behind adolescence and easy island living
For a future to fulfill dreams in a concrete jungle
On migrating to America.

Diamond worth of gold
Appraisal perhaps I should praise
If forsaken, then who am I in this den?
I ask if there will be a murmur.

Who declares “I am the forsaken!”?
Then watch your mouth and account for it
Who then worth praise or raise
Is it your darkness or your brightness?

Behold and admire your admirer
I proffer “can you create your naira”?
If yes, then claim mountain
Poor perplex night soil man.

If at most you posses a naira
Count this: a prerogative
For you is not anything
In the hands of your Maker

In God hands we are made
In His hands we are a fake
He gives and takes
In absent of no one
He is there as cake.

Rap Battle

I am illmatic,
I need a rap medic
I'm magic do not panic
You're lost in my world
You're dumb founded in my word
I picked up your pieces
Patched you likes stitches
Is this my reward
You're ungrateful
Loyalty was a Trojan gift you pose with
I cannot believe this
You worst than the roadside police
Picked you up like an abandoned baby
Is this how to pay me
I was your god everyday you pray to me
I can only say this watch your mouth before you bite your tongue
Let the meat you are eating do not turn to beef

If You Meet a Fierce Dog

if you meet a fierce dog,
watch your steps.
if you meet a top dog,
watch your interests.
if you meet an underdog,
watch your mouth.
if you meet a puppy,
watch your heart.
For, a dog is a dog.

Trust.

Who are you?

-I am a friend.

Can I trust you?

-Till the end.

I dont believe you; Your full of lies.

-Shhh little child; watch your mouth, or you die.

Dont believe everyone, on who they say they are.
Some people are liars, brilliantly mastered they are.

-Ill be like your brother.

I dont need another one.

-Ill be like your best friend.

Something tells me to run.

-Lets talk. Whats your schools mascot name?

I cant tell you; my names no longer Rain.

Dont believe everyone; some people lie.
They say they dont mean to harm you; until you look them in the eye.

-Can I be your mommy?

Well, mines not all that far away.

-Bet she wont love you like I will.

No, no thanks; thats okay.

-Well why not? I can do a better job.

Shes still my mother; she gave birth to me, you did not.

People will try anything; just ask my best friend.
When someone bad, tried to get her to foolishly trust him.

Dont trust everybody; Even I could be a lie.
Even on sites like this one; someone could be planning on how we'll die.

Questions

My shadow asks me to relate last night's dream
I say - No! I don't want to recall it
My shadow elongates longer and darker than
That of the pine tree which stands at
The final turn of the meandering road to my roost
And insists - You must tell about the dream
Under the orange sun gradually descending on
The western horizon
My shadow's wish is becoming bolder
Knowing too well
Earth will be usurped by shadows sooner than
I could hang on to my reluctance
I'm left with no choice but to comply with
The desire of my constant companion

So
Folks
Here it goes

I saw a dream last night in which
My shadow was chasing me
While I was running back to home
Across mountains
Through dense forests
Along wide rivers
On highways passing by crowded cities
Finally
On the border of my country
I hit a wall
Tall and thick
Made of bricks of soldiers
With my back on the wall
I faced my shadow and pleaded with it
With panting words -
I need to see my valley
Watch your mouth - My shadow warned me and
Barked back - Do you love your homeland?
Yes - I replied
When was the first time you lied to your father?
What was the reason your mother has been crying for ages?
Where were you when your kid brother was killed?
Did you try to stop your siblings
When they took up arms?
Do you remember the promises you made
To the girl who waited for you everyday
Standing by the old banyan tree
Until a bullet hit her?
Were my shadow's questions

I had no answers
And I heard my shadow's dark words -
Someday
I'll also leave you and
You'll become as lonely as a shadow

Watch Your Mouth

You are lying--full of crap
Your mouth is a big dirty trap
Nothing ever comes out true
What did I ever do to you
For you to bad mouth me around'
To my family, friends and town
I don't know why your so mean
Causing such a horrid scene
The commotion you are sending
Should be stopped--soon it is ending
You and me--a private place
So I can scream right in your face
No one around to see me shout
My evil side is coming out
I don't want to be this way
My kindness you are making stray
From inside a gentle girl
But your're wrecking my whole world
Now I have to be untrue
To myself--yelling at you
Words of pure obsecenity
You would not normally see
Me saying but I just can't
Stop this raging inside rant
You seem to be a little scared
I don't think you were prepared
To see my red fury eyes
Burning you back down to size
Next time you will think before
You call me a cheating wh--re
