Best Usher Poems
Usher me by, the power of the tidal wave, for beneath
You’ve crushed my heart and soul, washed away is resistance.
I’m a vanquished current, swept within your riptide.
A hurricane survivor dashed against your coral reef,
Rough, ridged left bleeding into the flowing surface channel.
A liquid fluid stream eloping drowning, swallowed whole by
The raw elemental essence that is your sweet loving.
Usher me by, the winds breeze that stirs the pines in the
Mountains highest, oh how tenderly does it whisper mine name,
Echoing against the Alps divides, cascading down drafts collide
As a rock land slide, into your embracing earthquake.
Tumbling, boulders clashing, slashing our sharpened edges,
Bumping, destroying the valleys smooth textures beneath
Love’s lush evergreen sheets of beauty.
Usher me by, the banishment's of the star creation above,
Wipe the heavens clean, undo every collision before the
Existence of mankind let us write our own timelines legacy,
For life began, when you moved my inner soul by speaking
My name in poetic verse.
Usher me by, whatever thy spirit commends me,
For I am yours eternally, abandonment's servant a slave
Giving myself willingly unto bondagement’s indentured
Servitude.
Usher me by, passion’s flame for I burn as kindling fire,
A living spiritual spark, given fuel by my lover’s desire,
Vanquished underneath his torrents storm, and merging
As a whirlwinds flash of lightening striking against the vows
Of the everlasting vaults of heaven themselves, for our love is
Eternal.

Usher him out!
I think this was the Lord's house
Wait a second
Pastor where is the love of which you speak
All your brothers armed with guns not a Bible ...wi in the Middle East?
Usher him out!
Pastor something wrong ...isn't there a place for me, wid mi red lipstick, mi wig and mi modern day dress ...a little short but a fi mi ...
I don't have a place in heaven?
Mi nuh count inna the good book?
Mi nuh know the scriptures well but mi sure a part seh "render yuh heart not yuh garment"
Mi never go nuh theological school but mi heart clean although mi dress short.
I think in the Lord's house yuh woulda usher mi in.
Pastor mi have a problem with you telling me I have no voice because I am a woman.
Who give you the right to call me a prostitute just because I don't dress like your wife.
She may be silent but I will speak ...You will not take away my voice from me.
Usher him out!
Shouldn't you be the one inviting him in
Mi nuh understand this church thing
Love your neighbors as yourself...I guess you miss that part in the bible pastor ....I hear you call him hypocrite...isnt that what you are?
Usher him out a the Lord's house ...isn't this where you welcome us all in with open arms...it shouldn't matter how I look ... now we know who the real hypocrites are.

Many churches today
have a food pantry that never
had a pantry before.
I attend a church like that.
Some folks are well-fixed,
others poor, most betwixt.
Some had money before
but not enough now to pay
the mortgage and then buy food
so the pantry helps them
the same way it helps clients
it has helped for years.
Some folks in the pews quietly
support the pantry with
checks and canned goods
enabling the nouveau poor
to stand in line with the
forever poor on Mondays.
A neighborhood baker slips
into the church Sunday mornings
just prior to the end of service
and quietly stacks his trays
of unsold bread in the dark foyer.
He says nothing and disappears.
No one seems to know
who he is but the hungry
love his bread and word
of its excellence has reached
the woman who leaves church early
and always grabs two loaves
of French baguettes and is
out in the parking lot long
before anyone else and
drives off in a red Mercedes.
Perhaps she’s on unemployment,
low on food stamps or is still
making payments on the car.
It’s not for the usher to ask.
I simply hold the door.

BRING THEM IN (AN ANSWER TO USHER HIM OUT)
Holy Father
I am a devout woman
What is wrong today, With our brothers
Those proclaimed in the church
Self righteous
Haughty
In pride
Claiming to be on mine and God's side
Ushered in, ushered out
Holy Father
Turn about
Change those that lie
Seek the face of them that deny
Stop the many women who cry
Bring them in
Give our men the true mind of Christ
Father help them be honest inside and out of church
We need men of integrity
Men of honor Christ like
This makes better man a husband to be for a wife
Let the men in church put the church in them
Ushered in, ushered out
Holy Father
Turn about
Change those that lie
Seek the face of them that deny
Stop the many women who cry
Bring them in
Women let's take a stand
Lets not settle for just anything
Bring them in, Lord bring them in
In the churches in the lands
Change them Father God, We need God fearing men
Bring them in, Bring them in
Ushered in ushered out
Change both those hearts
Let the women be a helpmate
Let the man follow God as we all should follow Christ
In the streets, the homes, in church day and night
Let us worship and praise,
Let the woman be not dismayed
Bring them in
Change their hearts and minds
Bring them in to the life of Christ

~Dedicated dramatic Verse to poetess “Sonya Stewart” as an answer her “Usher Him Out” poem
The heavy drums roar
The light cymbals strike
The men hide inside the lion prop
The lion dances lively
The clown in front fans challengingly
The lion moves swiftly
The lion rolls smoothly
Suddenly the lion jumps into the air
For the lettuce and the red packet Hung high at the door
The lion dance will usher in
Luck and fortune
In an enlightening and bustling way
Foods are catered for friends and relatives
Showing generosity and prosperity
humpf zap zarathustra honks
jingle jangle splash
shiin
doki doki
pada pada
clunk clank crash
snore snore
.......snore
tick tock tick
bang bang bang
ROAR
shiin silence

Good is A, Grand Good Finisher,
Who doesn’t need A Well Wisher.
He had tops come as Dish Washer
Before Studentship from Russia;
His dragnets swelling in Asia,
When he there lived as A Fisher…
Now, A Company’s Car Washer
And in their Church Foremost Usher
Unlike Luke Lee with look harsher,
Sometimes Post leaving for Rasher
And self passing off as Pasha;
Good their Church enlarging its size,
All the time, grabbing The Fat Prize…
Indeed, A Good Good Finisher,
This to his Foes their Tarnish-er!
Haunted towers and fallen houses,
Tell tales with bricks and mortars:
Of scions spun by sprouts of spouses,
Slogging limbs for quarters.
Each day is spent in catalepsy,
Metabolized days in seconds.
Meant for manufactured folly,
That Frederick Usher reckons.
In a nameless, numbered working wight,
In his capital-crafted, corporate culture,
Taphophobia fails to fright,
In spite of vivisepulture.
Knowing not what nor who to fear,
By the hand of advertisement,
Has made this nameless numbered sphere,
A ball for disfranchisement.
Masquerades and predilections,
Ancient artifacts of arcane dictions,
Democracy deigning occasioned elections,
Propagandizing peoples' predictions.
How old and long is this ongoing show?
Each season is getting worse.
The cast of castes continues to grow;
They've little time to rehearse.
Still we clap in silent applause,
Echoed in telemetric fashion.
As if some mandatory laws,
Keep this heap of trash in.
Ah yes, this so-called garbage place,
Named by its felon king,
Failed to cancel his putrid grace,
And bend to kiss his ring.
Houses haunted by his tower,
Fall for tales of what was great,
Buried alive for peddled power;
His hope's disguise for hate.
Welcome to hindsights masquerade!?
The halls of darkened woes
Whereat anything attritful, goes....
Into the chambers of rantistics sorrows
All your tomorrows, leading
To its foreboding gates thus now borne?!
Trillistic castles; piercing the purpaling nights
Perplexing shadows bound afore this
Pandiginous calling....
Truculence, within these their screeching cries
Cries, amid the labyrinth of this their plight!?

....“Welcome, Unto Pandillians House of Usher” ~
Form:
A Broadway play, a matinee,
Two seats right on the aisle.
The highest row, but even so,
We both left with a smile.
The show was sad, yet we were glad
For every great performer
Was new to us and, as a plus,
What made us feel much warmer
Was meeting John, a paragon
Among all theater ushers.
He made us laugh, unlike some staff
Who only act as shushers.
It’s kind of rare to really share
An unforeseen connection,
But our good luck relied on pluck
And also, seat selection!
Four blossoms fall
coming to a rest
on the crest of a wave
rippling across the fathomless lake.
Three flowers flowing
sweet wind blows
the scent of fresh buns
in the wake of a glorious sun
Two cherry blossoms float
a streetlight shining upon
the lone bench embracing the night
moths pining after the celestial crescent.
A single bud blooms
new hope bursts forth
sparks spring old and young
blooming into spring.
