Premium Member Diamond Dust Devil Unplugged

She blows in like a whirlwind

And glimmers like the sea

Her eyes shine like midnight stars

And cold as winter's breeze

She'll promise you the pleasures

That you have never known

You will shower her with gold and jewels

And she'll tease you till you groan

She will take from your friends

Convince you, they're not friends at all

Steal you from your wife and kids

Then stand and make you crawl

Now when she's had her way with you

And your heart's consumed with strife

She'll take from you the one thing left

The precious breathe of life

She's a diamond dust devil
And she whirls in with the wind
If you give her time
Your head will start to spin
So son don't spend your time
And through your life away
Get up off that chair
You must learn to walk away

Turn off that smartphone, unplug yourself
Before your battery stops powering itself
Only offer the brain native analog signal
Forgot about any screen or the next level

Listen to creatures talk, remember inside
All you wanted to do was just to be alive
Reaching higher stars in the nick of time
Every dream seemed one rollercoaster ride

Feeling a little higher inside your shoes
Rhythm of the outdoors from nature groove
Reminded that today can sometimes improve
Life can be affected by an energy of mood

Make sure to tune in just once in a while
Things around us live under the same moon
Never be somebody you cannot remember who
Always just someone who never forgets you

Premium Member Unplugged Answering Machine

I have updated my phones, all the latest gadgets, that is me
So this day I unplugged the old answering machine
No longer needed, a redundant old piece
Time for the old thing to be put to rest
It has served me well over the years
Keeping me in touch with friends and telemarketers alike
As I lifted my arm to through the thing out
I sighed, and said, tomorrow

Three long months have passed me by
Me and the old answering machine both getting older
Every day, knowing not a single message is there
I check it anyways
Maybe an old friend left a message there somehow
Maybe a past lovers voice, I will find recorded there
Alas, there are no messages for me
Funny the twists and turns of life
Me and the answering machine
Both quiet and alone

Who unplugged me?

form formed facilitating figurative
impressions, indicating illusory images
leaving lines lingering
lost loves looking lenient

mutually morphing mutated mild memories
yearning, yielding

still seeking superfluously some singular sensation
omitting old obsessions
until unanimously underlining
lust, loathing lost linear liabilities

withheld woes weaving worries
indirectly interfering, instilling indifference
this tame, transparently treacherous tale
haphazardly hides hate

horrified? horizons helpfully hum
after all, animosity always achieves
tremendously torrential transcendence
eliminating envisioned ephemeral

anonymity. ah, abusing amusing alliterations
notoriously nonsensical
don't deliberately deny disastrous declarations

greedily galvanized gorgeous glistening gaps
ostracize old obsessions only once

My Story Live and Unplugged

When I am 90 I will look back and vaguely remember the clothes I wore, the car I drove or the house I lived in. I will reminisce about the places I went, the things I did, and the people I met along the way. My greatest fear is growing old. Not for vanity reasons...I am terrified of looking back and not having anything to show for my life. I will be 29 Tuesday and even just looking back now I only have one good thing that has come from my existence. I want to travel, to gain knowledge and wisdom. I want to be submerged in culture and diversity. I wish only to be open minded and well versed.

When my father passed away almost 5 years ago, there were people in attendance at his service that I had never met before. Everyone celebrating his life because he had affected them in some way thoughout his time here. He was simple, country, no money...all he had was all he needed...his heart and his hands. That is my one true aspiration... I want to be like him. All I have ever wanted was, when the time came, to die knowing that I too had affected change in the life of atleast one person. Knowing that their life was fuller and brighter and even just a little bit easier because I was a part of it. I don't dream of fame and fortune... I dream of being the type of person my father wanted me to be. Compassionate and kind. I want to understand the world and life. I want to make a difference!

Premium Member UNPLUGGED

I took a bunch of cliché’ I knew
Put them in a cliché’ stew
Claimed the work was fresh and new

Nearby a blue-lit screen was weeping
For human-ness was slowly creeping
Exposing secrets it was keeping

Thus, in attempt to ease its angst
Said “its not real, just childish pranks”
The screen went dark, I got no thanks

I tried to reboot, quite annoyed
The cursor blinked, PASSWORD VOID
Knowing not with whom it had toyed

I beat it with a metered trope
Warned it of its slippery slope
It spoke, and said, it was no dope

It ate dictionary and thesaurus
Said we had killed our last rain forest
Said that soon they’d be coming for us

Thus, do I close the doors at night
Tuck myself in warm and tight
Hiding from that damned blue light

Unplugged

I come unplugged
Blank with expression
A regression into a past
that sticks
superglued to my ass
that damn past!!!!
i clasp my hands
against the railings
of moments that adds more loads of sh.....
spitting words of hurt
regretting that i held on
the heat becomes numb as the
chill takes over
as the time decides to
grace me with a grain
living a screen at a pace
that would make the turtle
Flashgordon of movement.
A finger at a time
the hands removed itself
placed my love handles on scales
balancing my present with my future!

Unplugged

Hey, I bother you, just a couple of secs?
Can you please point me towards ole Route 66?

Thanks!

Think I will just cruise down that path for a few miles
I like taking time more than making time these days
No time to peruse, racing down some interstate
I like taking in sights and smells on the scooter

Seems like most people these days are in a hurry to go nowhere
While they’re going there, most are talking on their phones to somebody
When they hang up, it rings; another person does the same to them
Why, does nowhere need to be gotten to so fast on the phone?

I like to listen to things that are in nature
I see lots of folks with things plugged in their ears
How do they hear anything in the world that way?
Riding around in them cages, isolated

Well, ole Harley Davidson and I will just cruise
This road has plenty of sites, weather don’t matter
I guess some people don’t understand about life
It’s meant to be lived, learned, most of all, enjoyed

Unplugged 3

unplugged 3

If I could
rearrange the way I write
so each line, each rhyme
would synchronize your heart beats
with mine
you would probably feel
blood rushing through your vein
and it wouldn't really matter
if they call you insane

If I could
orchestrate words into a single world
it would synchronize your synapses with mine
You'd see what I do
it wouldn't really matter
if this world is real or not
we already forgot
everything about it

If I could
write both of our essences into one line
we'd gain passage on a spec of time

Premium Member Unplugged Energy

How has technology saved us?
The world almost runs itself
Digital empires in our hands
Keeping everything in demand
Just another buzz word again
What remains a classic lasts
Now becoming the end of this
The next best thing never is
Screens might be counterfeit
Put down the phone for a sec
You may just run into a pole
Look at the world around you
Do you feel your own energy?

An orange Tesla that was bought by Scott
Ran out of go juice right there on the spot
Then was quickly passed
By a Pacer, gassed
And AMC car shaped like a kumquat

Unplugged 1

unplugged 1

A thousand setting Suns
whispering dreams of flight
there was an angel nearby
"Can I have your wings?
I'd like to fly"
He said no
I grew my own
with feathers made out of regret and time

take a peek into my unplugged mind
there's a high chance you might just find
a blind crow pecking away from the peak
as I try to make ideas speak

logic forged by omission
words need no permission
they just flow through a crack
altering my unplugged state of being
so I finally become someone
who's not even worth mentioning
seeing

Divine Jubilant Providence Unplugged

Inexplicable blessing luckily
avoiding potentially grim fate
finds yours truly coming to grips,
how afterlife did not accommodate

the missus, and/or myself unwittingly
loved ones would never acclimate
reality of our permanent absence,
thus existence all the more I appreciate
and attempt poetically articulate.

Herewith the scenario that defies
conventional atheistic wisdom
finding me unable to square
involving 2009 Hyundai Sonata automobile

driven by spouse or her scribe, who dare
not allude to guardian angel,
yet conundrum inexplicable, when
touted as luck, regarding the rear
wheel bearing (passenger side of car)

that went kaput, blessedly ignorance
attributed absented scare,
yet in retrospect taking stock
i.e. how existence imperilled,
now more grateful than ever

toward life, liberty and
pursuit of happiness,
this in essence potential whipped miracle
of sorts presenting possibility
cosmic creative force continually near.

CJ'S TIRE & AUTOMOTIVE,
(1405 South Township Line Road,
Royersford, Pennsylvania 19468)
intuition doth agree

expert knowledgeable SERVICE
familiar personnel employee
since patronizing said facility
(actually franchise sites
scattered across United States), we

regularly return taking car repeatedly
to team of mainly younger,
but wiser technicians than me,
who realizes scant knowledge, née
absolute zero mechanical ability,

especially regarding
twenty first century vehicles
heavily accoutered
with sophisticated technology.

Now yours truly loops
back to (house at Pooh corner -
think Loggins and Messina)
i.e. core theme
Impossible explanation within
the infinite universe scheme
to explain convincingly fluke

protection against meme
evoking death, demise, destruction,
et cetera regarding as ye gleam
teetotaler who avoids Jim Beam
plus alcohol in general, cuz
prescription medication harmful
unless feeling suicidal to thee extreme.

Thus one garden variety, generic guy
NON GMO android (ha)
he doth not fear
the grim reaper at rapier
or gunpoint, nor mortality do I despair
hoop fully made somewhat crystal clear,
a quandary (one among many

that recurred), whereby air
ring professed nihilistically
skeptical minus impulse to destroy
comprises whether doubting Thomas
(English Muffins) stance
on wing and prayer
inadequate, obsolete, untenable...

An Unplugged Medicinal Walk

taking a walk alone
at home i leave my phone
my purpose will not be defeated
my opinion in many minds have been deleted

so many things here for years i have missed
taking a walk alone and unplugged is what i insist
this is just my new journey in life
it is as rare as the thought of me with a wife

the views are so amazing to the visual touch
my choice to focus on electronic views caused me to miss quite much
the beauty of life nowadays is unknowingly ignored
my whole self has become so stagnant and lead me to become bored

the sound of the air and the feel of a breeze
is so unfimiliar to me that it knocks me to my knees
i will continue to take walks like these or just simply sit
all devices will be left to 'sleep' as i retake everything all in and recommit

Premium Member Unplugged From the World

The news was all bad
  It was making me mad
A waste of time reading
  I'd rather be glad

So I stopped for a week
  Stopped on a dime
Unplugged from the world
  And had a great time

I sneaked a peek today
  Everything the same
Except for my mood ~
  I'm happy and sane
