Best Unaffordable Poems

Weeping Willow

Weeping Willow

The way your toes curl when you first wake up, yes I have been there to see this.
The way your nose wrinkles as you start to laugh, to this also I have been witness.
You twirl your hair and click your teeth when deep thoughts keep you guessing
And the way your eyes alight with flame when no longer the answers are vexing
Your lips pucker without thought of a kiss when something to you is amusing
About the crazy ideas that I might be having or a book you might be perusing.

I have seen you in the embers of a raging fire, and on the waves that crash upon the shore
I have heard you in the whisper of a windswept leaf as it dances upon the forest floor
I have felt you within a single drop of rain that nature brings to cleanse the earth
I have tasted no greater flavor than this, the nectar garnered from a true loves birth
I have smelled your beauty within the aroma of jasmine, honey, mint and Cinnamon
I have known you from the dawn of time, the cadence of two hearts abridged as one

And when you go to bed at night for some reason my shirts are more comfortable
Than the many things in the past I bought you that your lips told me were unaffordable.
And I have dried the tears that flowed from your eyes when agony came to break your heart
Your brows would furrow as sleep would take you, tomorrow would bring a brand new start
But regardless of this and nonetheless you snuggle in close and at night you shift your pillow
To the cooler side the place that brings solace on the opposite poll of the weeping willow

Wandering Why I Am Listing You - List

I knew a poet in you, a long, long time ago
You used to be naïve, still the truest, I know.

I recalled, we bought a stand-fan, an item not in the list
$30 was unaffordable, almost a luxury for us, in the gist.

I got gallbladder stones, lots of math on surgery was on our note
We both were a student then. We were preparing to hit a long road.

You loved me when I am angry. You used to smile keeping your secret
Do you still do that now? Life is passing now at a fixed speed, targeted.

I still linger for your touch; too idiotic to mention it so late! And I had to know.
You were always so simple! Simplicity was a thing I longed for, could not grow.

You were too simple for a lavish moment to express feelings, too lonely a soul
Wandering why I am listing you? I assure you, it was never my intended goal.

You wanted me to open my eyes when we used to be intimate, I never could, so.
Forgotten life in closed eyes now, bleeds through a pen, saying,” Please! Let it go!”

I am looking at a poem now, a gift I wrote, so happy to finish my masterpiece!
Heard the news of the death of a reader today! So, left it there! Yours are all this!

Dear Heart

Modern Beatitudes

The Life we now live seems but a deceitful drain
Rules abound that keep us all in chains
When will our saviour show us
We are in his favour

Blessed are the rich for they can afford the price rises
Essentials are so far out of reach for us already on our knees
We constantly pray
For what we gravely need

Blessed are the police for they can do as they please
They trample us in their lustful hate of society
Despite claiming to be our big brother

Blessed are the artful for they will dodge anything
And pay an unfair share of taxes
By buying government policy

Blessed are the bankers for they have ruined the day
Lending to us who could not control our spending
But now have to face reality

Blessed are the politicians for they always know what not to say
And lie at election time so convincingly
That we foolishly believe their comedy

Blessed are the immigrants
For they at first appear foolhardy
Working long hours for less money
Till they realise they have rights like everybody

Blessed are the celebrities
For they have distracted us well
From the day to day hell in which we dwell

Blessed are the peaceful for they are useful after a riot
And can calm some but only for a short while
Till the government causes a decline in the economy

Blessed are the rioters for they know the value of greed
And covet an unpaid for flat screen TV
That was too overpriced if bought legitimately

Blessed are the gangs for they rule the streets
And act like feral cats
Till they end up six feet under

Blessed are the silly for they believe the news
And have a forgetful countenance
And will always blame somebody

Blessed are the over-spender
Who keep the internet in boom
Even though it’s unaffordable credit card spending
That will cause future misery

Blessed are the middle classes for they take all the school places
And the jobs and all the cream
And anything they can carry

Blessed are the reporters
For they know how to fan the flames of discontent
With their distilled forgetful hate
That shows gross prejudices

Blessed are the simple folks who the world passes by so quickly
And who seem so unfairly happy
Long may they remain cloaked in insanity

And finally blessed are the people for they will rise up eventually
Another day
When despair can’t be held at bay

Poverty Taxes

In Kenya, they are called value-added taxes, “yani VAT”.
They change and increase every year
And are placed on everything under the sun.
The prices increase daily,
But they say it would lead to everyone paying their fair share of tax.

They are better referred to as poverty taxes,
Because they punish the poor to become the poorest,
They entrench selfishness among the neighbours and friends,
They take away the only saving of the poor in the society,
and one wonders why the poor remain the poorest.

The tax takes the homes,
The mortgages become unaffordable,
The rent skyrockets in Nairobi, Kisumu and Mombasa,
While the gas prices become unbearable.
The cars and bus rides become a luxury,
and our lunches are taken from our mouths.

The tax man is always on the door,
You wonder if you are under some emergency evacuation.
Taxman takes every percentage of your hospital bill,
Or school fee, or your child’s pocket money, or church tithe offerings,
Until there is nothing positive to take away.

Worst of it, the bills and penalties are always in your postal mail.
The services offered at government offices are poor.
The civil servants are rude to the core like vampires.
The infrastructure development is wanting,
The electricity blackouts in rural areas are frequent,
Education facilities not well equipped,
Health facilities are rotting from inadequate funding,
and any innovation is suspiciously viewed as a threat.

The tax man never explains where is the tax,
Nor what development activities were completed.
The poor’s voice can’t be heard yet everything is taxed.
The poor continue to be taxed to poverty,
While the tax man feeds the corrupt all the taxes.

A Format of Progress

I dedicate this poem to them who are ignorant and making statements on innocent girls that were raped and killed in India.

Disturbance creates crystal ball for heeling flirt.
irresponsibilities perform failure of skills and spreads dirt.
reliabilities of options confirm the intellect of a utilizer,
that runs a system; a person becomes consultant or an advisor,
firms establish a uniform asks young girls to wear a short skirt.
conversation counts in matters also smile draws relationship,
Academic education and experience fails if it takes nudity step,
the system is based on production, progress and growth,
time is value, money is source that never counts someone's hurt.
personal skill counts in an interview to differ a colouring shirt.
caste, colour, religion, language or a boundary that never counts,
if corruption or selfishness profound fails if honesty not in account,
something is different unaffordable that attitudes fail to apply,
we develop injustice, forcible manners in our daily amounts.

Separation

Enervated little child
could not guess from her tender mind
about where has she gone?
She wonders and looked around
later there was a continues cry
looking at the dad.

Poor dad didn’t utter a word
but pat tenderly on her back
How can he explain the real mystery?
Mum has depart from the little family having a divorce
Before that there was unaffordable patience
Suspicions, quarrels, disagreements and arguments

Can she realize the dissension between them?
Little one cried for want of mum
Dad exhausted, and put a glance at the couple of sun birds
making a melodious note
Resting on a fully blossomed branch of hibiscus bush

He murmured affectingly to the baby
in a perceptive manner
Look! Nice little birds… calling you,
Would you like to go their nest?
It is beautiful, neat, and peaceful,
Ostracized little girl
did not realize what father says
And she cried and cried
Poor man looked at the cloudy sky
Where floating a lonely kite

Treasons Reasons

Treason Reasons

                              Concreted cracks, abandoned train tracks,
                                unaffordable housing built like shacks.

                                    Unplanted seeds gardens of weed,
never having enough to satisfy the greed.

Unseen view, is the sky blue?
                                  Goodwill bought unlaced white shoe.

The frontyard seat on ol' bucket street,
cool air doesn't help that kind of heat.

Battles kill, unordinary run of the mill,
                                  another happy mailman undelivered bill.

Where is our morality? What is our deal?
living here in the now is such a reality kill...

Spending My Income Tax Refund

Spending My Income Tax Refund

By Elton Camp

For one like me, who to save lacks the thrift,
An annual income tax refund seems like a gift
In other years, there’s been no reason why
That something a bit special I couldn’t buy

An otherwise unaffordable gift for my wife
Or a vacation to relieve the monotony of life
This time the decision has been made for me
For it will go right into the gas pump, you see

A Poem On Not Shaving For Months

How Unkempt and awful I look when
I forget to shave for weeks
Often have I to put off shaving for months
Once I went unshaved for a year
Either under stress,
or workplace pressure
as a result,
 female colleagues
Avoid talking with me
and male
Co-workers advise me to wear a mask
my wife at home
declines a kiss.
Despite these grave repurcussions
I really never like to shave
For weeds on my face
Refuse to surrender to substandard blades
(And good blades are exorbitant and unaffordable)
I fear tetanus every time I cut my skin
For me to decide to shave is as difficult
a decision as deciding by US on carrying air raids on
Iran

House Price

The largest asset we own
The biggest headache we cannot disown
The greatest noose around our necks
The one that will cause economic wreck

The price of aspiration went up today
The box with a roof keeps
Delighting or frustrating
Depending on who is prating or dreaming

Tick
Tock
Tick
Tock
A housing bubble might erupt today
This time government cash
May not save the day

Home ownership is sacred
The keys to a front door offer nirvana
The fact that it is unaffordable is such a bore

It is not just a house that is at stake
It is society and the economy
That are going through an earthquake
God help us when the bankers make mistakes
Only then we know it is all a big fake

Supply and demand
Why have they all forgotten about them?
The tenets of sensibility are side-lined
And is a grave and costly crime

Up the price is expected to daily go
Will it ever go down?
They all authoritatively say no
A silly assessment
That will cause great woe

The arena is bloodied
By experts who sell short-sighted misery
No one understands what is going on
Nor do they have a magic wand

A bee stinging a crow in the forest will cause
The winds to blow
And a stampede of horses to trample the unaffordable box
That a speculator has bought
With money lent with no thought
Of how a it will be repaid
It’s all hype and money down the drain

In times of uncertainty
Bricks and mortar
Are thought best
A claim a long term view may contest
Let us please put idealistic models to rest

A dismal sin is an unrealistic assessment
Of the economic might of your purse
If you can’t afford to buy it
Then it might be best not to rush into owning it

Hustling Keep Moving

Hustling keep moving
On my ground
Doing my thing
The day is hot
But I must eat
In the ghetto
Where life is so hard

But I got to do
What I have to do
To earn what it
Takes to survive

Hustling keep moving
I know you know
What it means to fight
Is not a child's play
The survival is the strongest
The weak is the looser

In an environment
Where all is so eager
People so worried
Kids play on sands with
An empty stomach
No one to help
Not even the politician man
Yet we keep hustling
Moving on

Hustling moving on
Boys can't date cos
Love is base on money
Unaffordable
Paparases keep rooting
Our leaders belly's keep improving
The poor still poorer
While the rich still richer
What else is to do?
But hustling
Keep moving

Hustling keep moving
In the streets where the people
Are use to poverty
Where dogs look like
An European female model
Every corner's full of dirty waste
Off curse we cares

The people keep pushing
Doing what ever it takes
Just to feed
It a love for day
And don't worry about
Tommorow life style
People so addicted to hard work
For low wages
What else is to do
But hustling
Keep moving

Hustling keep moving
Girls on the street waiting
For sugar daddies
Men on black
Keep raging and arresting
The people in the
Name of crime
Oh no
I have to keep hustling
Keep moving

Hustling keep moving
They say this and that
Is a crime
Is ovious they don't care
To understand the reason
Behind the crimes
They keep fighting
Only the poor for crimes
Brutally treating the innocent
Like the old
Blue, red, white, slaves,
Still the people keep
Moving on
Boys still hustling harder
And harder each day
Man must eat is the song
On the lips of every ghetto youth
Night and day

Hustling keep moving
In hunger the young men
Are frustrated to stealing cos
No job
In hunger and desperation
The young ladies are force
To prostitution
4square is final destination
Of the ghetto youth convicted
All like a Third World War
On the third world contries
Now I know why they say
We are from the down town
But I wonder if we are down
Or the town is down
The game is still on
The rules are so high
But the only way out is
Hustling keep moving

I Love You Mama

I - If it were possible to live

L - Life all over again,
O - Of course I'd still my heart give
V - Verily to your embrace.
E - Each time my nasty pain

Y - You come to my aid to chase,
O - On my bill goes a debit
U - Unaffordable by my passion.

M - Mama, you're more than every credit
A - A lad like me would ever pass;
M - More than just a confession
A - Are these words from my stars.

A Moment In Physical Phase Actuality

never necessary
is a full cup of hate
my movements are
my medicine
my choices are my health food

watching you sleep on the
passenger side as i avoid
the highway admiring the scenery,
i shake my head with a smile because
i have never met one with quite the
personality such as yours

as we arrive to our destination, i cannot
help but think back again to a time when
my only travails were the occasional daydreams
in the back of a dark movie theater

now here i am....a participant in a picture....
experience being the ultimate autograph....
i find myself thanking God without knowing,
which brings me back to earth

checking in to this hotel once unaffordable,
i, for some reason, become a nervous wreck,
oh what the heck....then i look at you....holding
the same oar as me....it is then that i realize that
i am not the only one posing with movement

never necessary
is a whole pint of regret
my plan making is my rehabilitative scrapbook
my decisions from here are my mirror image results
