Unabridged Heart

When I watch how you so gracefully move,
there are not enough words
to describe how I feel about you
This is just my unabridged heart speaking true
Adminiculate ...
Here is the evidence, the supporting proof:
after all these years, I'm even more in love with you
I love how you talk to me when you come home,
I love what you do to me when we're alone
Your skin tastes so good down to the bone
Bodice ...
You don't need anything to keep your waist tight,
you let it all hang out every night
You're the love of my life;
when I married you, I didn't think twice
Chavicha ...
Columbian woman, fought upstream to survive
You're feisty as salmon, my beautiful South American wife
Don't know what I'd do without you,
don't even wanna think about it
Just loving the fact that everyday next to me is where you sit
Xanthine ...
Our love can't be dissolved,
we always got closer after every problem we solved
You made my life so happy bright like yellow sunshine,
you sweet flower love of mine
Yuan ...
Ain't enough money in the world, my China doll,
that can buy your love away from me
You got everything I need
You never made my heart bleed;
never walked away, making me beg, baby please ... don't leave me
Zayat ...
Come, my love, and rest your heart in my heart
underneath the Burmese trees, cooled by the balmy breeze
And let me tell you the A, B, C's of what your love means to me
Come, my love, and rest your soul in my heart
beneath these aromatic trees, warmed by the summer breeze
And let me tell you the X, Y, Z's of what your love means to me
A love unabridged to my heart eternally

Premium Member Not Just Another Prof, Unabridged Version

The september I met him remains etched in my mind
I sat in class awaiting explanation that never came
One by one minutes rolling by ever so slowly

I surmised he’d been a burn victim
I wondered when it happened
How old he would have been
How he suffered
How he healed
How he could now be so nonchalant

Over my inner spiel I didn’t hear a word he said
I was consumed in wait with unanswered questions
Then I spent the second half of class feeling stupid
Regretting the meddlesome monologue in my head
It was three hours of my life I would never get back
Really… how was it any of my business?

It was way back in those prehistoric days
Before the internet was full blown
Nowadays a simple google search
Would have produced a newspaper article
Instantly unravelling the mystery

I shook my head good and hard all week
Before returning to my second class with him
He never spoke about the elephant in the room
It boggled my mind why I expected he ever would

In a short time I became enchanted
With the magnificence of this man’s soul
He was a cultured learned gentle man
A poet possibly a genius
He was ordained to touch lives
To shake and rattle foundations
Disentangle paradigms

A transcendent grace exuded
From his every word
His every glance

[This is the poem that made me think ‘Hmmm… Sixgun Sid?’
Which led to a plethora of (at least one) ‘adventures’]

                                             *

Cowboys and Red Indians they ride in any weather
Though one will get a soggy hat and one a soggy feather
And all that soggy headwear has been happening forever
Cos Cowboys and Red Indians are really not that clever

Cowboys and Red Indians they rarely get together
When they chase each other they ride horses hell for leather
And Sitting Fox seeks Sixgun Sid for he’s a scalp to sever
And Cowboys and Red Indians they rarely get called Trevor

Cowboys and Red Indians they simply wont endeavour
To shelter under canvas when its raining… No, not ever
Yet even when they're soaking wet they shrug and say “Whatever.”
For Cowboys and Red Indians will share a teepee never

Premium Member Alligator Sashay, Unabridged

Circle left, hang on tight
Don't get caught in an alligator bite
Allemande left, what you want to do
Is turn that alligator into stew
Do-si-do, listen to the band
Alligator shoes look mighty grand
Roll away to a half sashay
If you're a gator, forget what I say

Right and left grand, give a kick,
Gator eyes fall on a dancing chick
Swing your partner, run, don't stop
Toss him in the water, with eyes on top
Ladies in, men sashay
Ditch that guy without delay
Pass through, separate and go home
Say bye to the bald gator with the crazy comb

Premium Member Apple Pie - Unabridged Version

This is neither poetry, nor art,
It is not an ending or a start,
but in all sincerity, says I,
"May I have a slice of apple pie?"

"Indeed, you may have your apple pie,
It is not a case of do or die.
It's a simple fruit filled pastry,
thought by many to be tasty."

"As the pie, I beg your attention.
There's something I would like to mention.
I have steaming apples in my crust,
but don't eat me...well if you must."
