Premium Member Caretakers of Your Heart

Friends, like candles, enable you to see
personal faults, through sympathetic eyes,
and never flicker, should you disagree.

Even subjected to the third degree:
standing steadfast, they will not compromise:
friends, like candles, enable you to see.

Offering unflinching friendship for free,
friends, rejuvenate and revitalize:
and never flicker, should you disagree.

Applauding your accomplishments with glee:
although others tend to trivialize:
friends, like candles, enable you to see.

Caretakers of your heart, they hold the key
to unlock the virtues they recognize:
and never flicker should you disagree.

Pushing you to be all that you can be:
they even defend your outrageous lies.
Friends, like candles, enable you to see:
and never flicker should you disagree.

Ought To Be

If I don’t know
How to raise my voice
Then I should not shout

If I don’t know
How to accept the reality
Then I should not rebel

If I don’t know
How to address a situation
Then I should not trivialize it

If I don’t know
How to be an alternative
Then I should not castigate the existing

If I don’t know
How to know something
Then I should not conclude it doesn’t exist

If I don’t know
How much is known to me
Then I should not mouth anything in entirety

Premium Member The Other Kind of Pain

Give me a headache
The fury of a migraine
The pounding of temples
The powder keg sensation
Of explosion a minute away

Give me a tummy ache
The kind that makes you double up
Fist pounding the bed
Hands clutching sheets
Retching into a bowl
From the pain of knots
And cramps

Give me a back ache
That leaves me immobile
For fear of the searing pain
That would accompany
One wrong movement
Pain shooting up my spine
Without searing pain
Shooting up my spine
Deadened only by pain killers

Give me any kind of physical pain
I will bear it, I will survive
I will live to see another day
But spare me
Oh spare me this pain
This pain in my heart
This heartache
That is eating away at me
Devouring my mind
That is accusing
That is demonizing
And driving me insane

This internal pain
That has me in fetal position
Rocking back and forth
Crying out in shaking sobs
Biting my inner lip so hard
That blood mixes with my tears
Just..just to feel something real
Something to fool my mind
Into believing
The body is in need of aid
Defense systems kicking into place
Let my mind be fooled
Let it forget
The other pain
That pain
A pain that is quickly leading
Massive heart failure of love
………………………………………….

Death
A state where there is
No feeling
No pain
No joy
No tomorrow
Nothing…
Give me…Oh please, please give me
The other kind of pain.

Eileen Manassian Ghali

PS...please understand this is a literary piece of work that shows an exaggerated state in the mind of the writer...me. I don't mean to trivialize the pain of those who suffer from chronic pain of any sort. This is MY poem, and MY thoughts on the matter. THANK YOU!

Book: Radiant Verses: A Journey Through Inspiring Poetry

Poetry of a Mad Man

The poetry of a mad man
Emerging thoughts take a toll
There’s a fine line between madness
And a balanced mind that makes us whole

So am I crazy?
Is what I perceive real?
The only thing I really know
Is my perspective and how I feel

The images I see are abstract shadows
Being presented as truths
The herd - gulping down the Kool-Aid
Willingly obtuse

Our destiny – self-destruction
Perplexing for mankind
Ironic is our nature
Professing we’re so divine

I see weakness and corruption
Consequences need not be
When you’re drinking what they’re selling
You sip it down like a warm cup of tea

As the water starts to boil
You see the steam begin to rise
It’s too late for adaptation
The damage is done – you chose to close your eyes

Fragile broken psyches
Shattered miserably from low self-esteem
We grasped at good intention
We can’t awake from this bad dream

We’ve pissed away our existence
Condemned – futile in our desires
We trivialize the beauty
Only to complicate our lives

As we crawl back into to the cave
We try our best to rationalize
The awareness of our disinterest
Manifesting from the fear of opening our eyes

These thoughts cause me great discomfort
I find it so hard to understand
How we arrogantly avoided issues
Inevitably – this will lead to the demise of modern man

The poetry of a mad man
Tragic story that unfolds
There’s a fine line between madness
And that which makes us whole

Amulet graced by gems
clad for stratum prow

tawny glyphs
margin of witticism

& quagmire

extravagant dictum
trivialize shores trails

summer ousted
& waves of wrangles

sundered the ocean
& swapped my spirit

in crimson burst
swirl to scatter

In demolishing ruins
& twilight crumble
slump of man

glittering Phoenix fire trail
scribble a cyan-xantos rhyme.

bore a shallow rostrum

defective soothsayer
haunts dreams?

hilltops & both
oceans & skies

cyclone of emotions
&
lethargic sadness
soul storm mulling.

Venting

Why am I not allowed to vent my frustration, anger and annoyance at your incompetence?
Remain poised, you say.
Calm down, you say.
Don't be so passionate, you say.
Why can't I expose and tell you exactly how I feel about your irritating, petty ways?
How much you trivialize things that are serious!
How much you take for granted opportunities that the underprivileged among us would die for!
How frustrating it is to know that if it was a different time or place I could be somewhere else, doing something else but I choose to teach you, however, ungrateful you are!

Despondency

You may withdraw yourself from others
Become quiescent or lackadaisical
Disrupt sleep or appetite alter
Feel sluggish or delirious

When the echoes of your parents'altercations
Rack up your eggshell mind
When you avoid people whose company
You've typically rejoiced relishing

Yet you remain part of the quotidian process
That regaling you would your emotions trivialize
The world should revere your right
To confront a loss thouroughly

Convalesce from their turgid prosperity
Immerse your weighty dejections
Schedule some constructive episodes
I can but accolade your approach

To coin a new gist of aliveness
Absorb and merriment apprize
Amend lamenting into cleansing
Strike a joke or be sarcastic

Amass and boast your high-pitched impetus
And above all your insights vitalize
Extoll your bewitching sorcery
And perceive a world better to be.

Spring Will Be

This year, sleeping spring refuses to rise
too long overdue but not a surprise
as the weak sun hidden in thick cloud lies
masked by stubborn mists in leaden grey skies
with temperatures way below normal highs

Lack of sunshine and warmth can jeopardize
crop growing and a good harvest denies
Persistent rain leads to insect demise
essential bees drowned and no butterflies
to help fruit and flowers to fertilize

It’s difficult to overemphasize
the full impact a delayed spring implies
or the effects on mood trivialize
Lack of sun makes depression demoralize
many folks and others traumatize

Often, the thing to do is recognize
defeat and climb aboard a plane that flies
off to a land that sees the sun arise
and soak up UV rays (perhaps unwise
transformed to a mummy when parched skin dries)

Premium Member RE: Poeticisms Out From The Left Field

"A personal shout-out to our sponsors and their vapid articulations who made this message possible," ... by The Poet.

Poets and poetesses ascribe to a greater call,
in their endeavors to make their chosen path a cure-all
from those who trivialize and minimize their virtuous
field of poetry's righteous domain and their arduous
measures to maintain a certain quality in their works
of art, to the world of writers past and present, networks
that tethers a fragile grasp on absolutes discipline,
and severance from the mundane, effortless, and simpleton,
out from the left field, melodramatic, sugarcoating,
southpaws are unreasonable and consequently, nothing
our opponents that come out from the left field properly
have no concept of true value to offer poetry.

Every Dog Has Its Day

Every dog has its day
even the cactus will bloom one day
so try try try until you win
and one day, your life will begin

When the truth never prevails,
and the untruth fails to fail,
do believe, its just the obscured sky.
Your clouds will pass by and you will fly

When people lead you on,
and make you feel down,
remember,Life is not a running race
and there is no urge to chase

Don't be petrified to take risks
Don't ever rely on your luck.
Don't try to turn your clock
and don't trivialize yourself, because

Every dog has its day
even the cactus will bloom one day
so try try try until you win,
and one day your life will begin

Premium Member Demonize Or Energize

Overanalyze and criticize, demoralize and ostracize
Modern pundits legitimize their vicious exercise

Scrutinize and standardize, compartmentalize and cannibalize
Wizards of efficiency synchronize, initialize and circumcise

Demobilize and paralyze, stigmatize and de-humanize
Westernized pols, their constituents balkanize and polarize

Trivialize and miniaturize, standardize and sterilize
  Thought-police priesthoods evangelize and moralize

Why can't they fraternize and socialize?
Why don't they harmonize and compromise?

Picture of the Kids

At the great concession stand,
They hold back on souvenirs
Mostly, wet stuffed animals in the rain
They trivialize the culture
And submit to their careers
And raise the children to point the finger of blame

That’s why I carry around
A picture of the kids
To remind me of the
One great thing that I did

I salute myself in victory
In my company of one
My badge of courage flashed for all to see
Though I crawled like a dog from the trenches,
Whimpering like a spoiled son,
I’ll gladly shake hands with anyone not shooting at me

And carry around
A picture of the kids
To remind me of the
One great thing that I did

Freedom’s weight is an anvil
And we fashion our own chains
Living under an uneasy image of ourselves
But maybe we hear a prisoner
Planning his getaway
And invite him on over to visit our lonely cells

So I carry around
A picture of the kids
To remind me of the
Only thing I ever did

Pernicious Pols

Drivel and
snivel or
swivel the words
to trivialize
the lies
and semantic games
played in the names
of citizens like ... Joe.

Pronounce
to pounce
and renounce
an opponent
in a smear word war waged
beneath our collective contempt.

Like the proverbial
snake with the pernicious
forked tongue,
they speak
to squeak
in rhymes of rot
caring not
for the confusion
delusion
of hopes lying shattered
in the booth.

Go ahead and vote
but don't gloat,
for the bloat
and secrecy
will always be.

Bond

The bond that keeps extending
Like the waves that run the beach
Is way beyond what we pretend
Is just within our reach...

Reminding us we're not alone
When we need a hand
Will often be that second set
Of footprints in the sand...

A mothers gift to every child
From moment of conception
The innocence of that first smile
Still hiding from rejection...

It takes two lovers down the aisle
With every good intention
It justifies without a trial
Without our intervention...

Humankind still tries to find
A reason to explain it
But the ones who trivialize
Are ones who can't sustain it...

Never Fail In Loving Yourself

NEVER FAIL IN LOVING YOURSELF
Fall, as many time as it takes
But never trivialize your soul like flakes.
You are no less than a fantasy;
In sooth you're as esoteric as a sea.
Keep it real for there's nothing aesthetic in being an elf.
Never fail in loving yourself!

You are not less,
Neither a heap nor a mess.
The universe took its time on you;
Crafted you offering this world as an ensue.
Don't break your soul like a delph;
Ne'er fail in loving yourself!

Just be, and enjoy being,
For its better than hearing the people who are always geeing.
Don't look for perfection,
'Coz your flaws gives you direction.
Your imperfect soul is such a beautiful combination in itself;
Never fail in loving yourself!

Embrace the randomness.
Praise your sublimeness.
Accept yourself and accept the truth,
As denying your beauty is like to commit a sleuth.
The prime thing is your mental health;
So, never fail in loving yourself!

Keep repeating, you worth it;
And you're not unfit.
Build yourself into the person you are dreaming to be;
And on that road ignore the voices of he and she.
Don't put your peerless self on the shelf;
Never fail in loving yourself!

                                                     -Namish
