Flowers In Your Hair, Gold Dust On Your Trailing Gown
( Robert Lindley and Nicola Byrne )

Flowers in your hair, gold dust on your trailing gown
You my true sky angel, had floated right on down.
Golden sandals on your feet, toenails glowing white
All eternity shan’t see a prettier sight.
Your soft and gentle voice, a million ways of sweet
Your touch is my hope and your kiss, love-food to eat.
Each moment a true blessing, you my darling gave
Each dance your gift, healing treasures, my heart to save.
Love of my life, sing softest hymns to this lost soul
For before you came, sorrows took a heavy toll.
Know darling, this heart and spirit you have thus healed,
Should fate deny us, with love, truth has been revealed.

Now every balmy breeze that blows against my skin,
Resonant of your kisses, brings a joyous grin.
In the sun’s warm splendour, a halo I doth see
Shine upon the waters, where love’s eyes swim to me.
And every now and then, blessed with rains from above,
I feel your tender touch, the glory of your love.
Your scent, like fragrant blossoms, straight from heaven’s lawn
Exhilarates the senses, waking me each dawn.
Firm witness is the world, to thy healing powers
and graceful presence, bringing halcyon hours.
All that I envision, to turn around a frown:
Flowers in your hair, gold dust on your trailing gown.

Trailing An Ant Over You

An ant's journey over you
trailing it to have its view
your toe to hair.
Leaving its friends in the queue
it thought to do something new
so it's now here.
Marching past few morning dews
seeing your nail polish's blue
grabbed without fear.

Climbing your toe with much care
started a journey so rare
on your leg straight,
silky skin so smooth and bare
I followed it with some fear
before it's late,
curvy path starts just from here
mountain,valley here and there
best tour till date!

Guessing the paths lie in wait
feeling my increased heart rate
told it,'Hey stop!'
But without changing its gait
the ant moves towards target
to climb the top.
It just told me,'Don't be late,
keep part of tour top secret
or you'll be dropped!'

Weeping willow crys alone

Sheds her many tears.

Trailing Ghosts

Your time has come
The banshees are rapidly approaching
Can you hear their screams in your mind?
Does the constant rattling and endless wailing
Wake you up at night in a cold sweat?
Does your bedroom feel a tinge of coldness
That causes you to tremble
Knowing that your time has run out
For you have been abandoned
By everyone you have ever loved
Because of the many betrayals
You bestowed on them without a bit of guilt
No one remains
To cloak your sins for you
You must pay in full
And I am here to collect
Your wicked soul

Look over your shoulder
Do you see the decomposing souls
That you have left behind
Of the gentle feminine creatures
That you have used and forgotten?
Do you hear the cries
Of all of the women
Whose hearts you have butchered
With your web of deception and lies?
Do you feel their loneliness?
Do you feel the emptiness they feel?
For you have stolen a piece of them
That they can never retrieve from you
That has left them an empty shell
With an inner void
That cannot be healed

The ones that you so carelessly discarded
Are thirsty for your blood
They want to feed off you
So these zombies that remain
Under your spell
In their humble state of muliebrity
Can awaken from the trance
Your venomous manipulation
Has sentenced them to
For then they will now be cognizant
Of how little esteem you hold for
The feminine species
Their bandages will start to unravel
Off the mummified remains of your victims
It will be as if they were reborn again
They will become alive again
Feeling a sense of emotive totality
That will free them of their enslavement to you

For years you have strategized
And plotted your many conquests
Leaving a trail of causalities a mile long
But, now your castoffs have become united
They are hunting you
For you are now the prey
Listen closely
Can you hear their footsteps
Growing nearer by the minute?
Though you may do your best
To absquatulate from your fate
Your attempt will be in vain
For the wrath of an abandoned woman
Gives her ferocious power that
Is stronger than any army
Is more powerful than any weapon
Is sharper than the teeth of the fiercest animal
It is immortal
It is eternal
And it will always find you
When you least expect it

Trailing Behind

Time as always presents itself
Or perhaps it be me presenting to time
Another place as well am to dwell
Finding another place to simply fall behind

Did I leave a trail I wonder?
Will there be someone following after?
Of the many things I do so ponder
At a worsen place I might just feel better

Every footstep where shadows fall
Every doorstep I leave closing each door
Part of me wanted something more
Yet do instincts often tell me to ignore

Amazes me even how I do not miss home
The one place where I'm branded a stranger
And this place itself I'm yet more unknown
To be left however a sensation strangely familiar

Perhaps a goodbye will fall to place
A presentation to have once left behind
Another time will another place I shall face
Shall I but leave another trail behind?

Trailing Regret

Retracing my steps …
picking up the pieces
of a misguided past
Cleaning up the memories
that so litter my
attention
Given one more chance
to change
the things I never intended
Given one last chance
to right the wrongs
—of my prodigal ways

Trailing Soul

Am i human?
Do i Belong?
Who am i Fooling?
I'm almost gone

A broken soul
A lost cause
Life has its toll
Life isn't what it was

Am i lost?
Or was i ever here?
There is always a cost
Don't shed a single tear

You're talking to a ghost
My soul in a shell
I fade past most
Sometimes i just want to yell

No one hears me
no one sees me
what's left of me?
Who is "me"?

Trailing War

In search of peace
the free hand was inflicting casualities.
The kids were buried like insects in a rubble.

Step by step in speculation
the streets were livid with rustic murals
of splintered blood on walls.

The foxgloves had lobbed rockets
on tall heads. Beleaguered
eyes nailed to fire.

I am watching you my art,
to witness the agony of man.
Burn, burn my cupped hands with snatched words.

SATISH VERMA

Trailing Snoop's Trot

moaning moon munched
by taunted tongue -
gaunt gloom thrust
felon fate flung -
leered lanky lurch
shunned sassy verge

met tuning tree
crumbling crescendos' spree
porous path's plea

saucy swing strapped
tamed tactic trance
dribbling dark dance

shrewd shaver tossed
trailing snoop's trot.

SATISH VERMA

Trailing Down

trailing down
feeling like a kite that's fallen onto the ground.
where was that guidance that let me soar into the sky?
it disappeared and let me see into my mind.
and there I went too deep and swallowed to hard...

I could chant myself to sleep by the vibrato of my heart:

I'm a person
I'm a mound
I could open up your mouth
but you forgot to let me in
once again you swayed me in

I'm a person
I'm a mound
so presistant to break bounds
but you decide to cave in
once again you left me thin

I'm a person
I'm a mound
I'd be willing to put down
but you just spoke without a sound
now this silence will make me drown

Trailing Closer

Those footsteps ahead
  are now footsteps behind

The past but a memory
  the future declines

My cadence is slowing
  my direction unclear

When frozen in place
on the wind I can hear

Quiet footsteps ahead
  louder footsteps behind

Their sound fast approaching
  to reclaim and remind

The years stay unpromised
  except for the end

Each step left unwalked
  trailing closer—portends
