Best Telling You Now Poems
There was talk about the nuclear bomb
There was a war going on in Vietnam
It was on the news, the drummers were drumming
Look out America, the British are coming
We couldn't wait to turn our radios on
To hear Paul and Ringo, George and John
What could make you feel more alive
Than to rise in the morning to the Dave Clark Five
To be part of it was so much fun
With Eric and "The House of the Rising Sun"
Music sent from heaven above
Peter and Gordon "A World Without Love"
There was Peter Noone and Herman's Hermits sound
While Petula Clark took us all "Downtown"
The country went wild when Donovan hit the stage
Tom Jones and Dusty Springfield were part of the rage
Oh Lord one day please take me back
To hear Marianne Faithful and Cilla Black
The Rolling Stones conquered every city
And Manfred Mann sang "Do Wah Diddy"
The Kinks and Troggs took us for a whirl
The New Seekers sang about "Georgy Girl"
British fashion was everywhere
And the Zombies told us "She's Not There"
Now James bond was doing some super spying
Gerry said, "Don't Let the Sun Catch You Crying"
Freddie and the Dreamers sang "I'm Telling You Now"
The British had conquered America somehow
The Searchers, The Hollies, meaningful words
Chad and Jeremy, don't forget the Yardbirds
If there was a way we could do it again
We'd have another invasion like we did back then.
If you weren't there, it might be hard to understand. The music had meaning
with political statements and social statements written between the lines. the
young were actively involved and the apathy that exists now was hard to find. The
fun music was fun music and the message music set a tone for a generation. It
was a great time to be growing up in spite of the turmoil in the world, a world we
thought we all could change. Times change, sometimes not for the better.
You Said I Was Ugly
You said I was ugly, and I don't really give a damn or care
Why did you pick me, don't you know you're like a bear?
You said I was ugly, then why did you give me the stare?
I heard you say that night, you could have anyone woman
how do you dare?
You said I was ugly, even though you thought I was rare!
Rare like what, rare like an open book when a page tears
You said I was ugly, and sometimes I really don't care, there
Why did you pick me, don't you know you're like a cranky bear?
I remember that one night, you lovingly took me out
And I saw you making flirt with a woman who always danced
about!
You said I was ugly, well maybe now I am telling you now I
don't give a hootin' and a shout!

I'm haunted by the words you wrote
Tell me what you want from me
Don't tell me what I want to hear
Tell me how you really feel
I could be everything for you and more
I'm telling you now I want more
I'm telling you I want to be with you
I want all of you...
Do you want to be with me?
Honestly?
I know you're confused
I'm confused too, confused by you
It's okay to be scared
I'm here for you, I'll hold your hand
This is a risk I'm willing to take
But the decision is yours to make
You write of walking a straight line
I'm here to tell you that now's the time
Now's the time to face your fears
Now's the time and I'm right here
Now's the time for us to shine
Come on baby, let's chase those butterflies

How could i have done what i have to you?
how could i have hurt you the way i did?
how dare i make you go through my pain too,
how dare i run and went and hid,
i cant take it anymore, i dont want you feeling my pain,
its mine and mine to take, dont tell me what you told me again,
im sick of being a ***** and hurting you,
im sick of making you worry and stay up too,
I dont want you have to deal with me anymore,
forget me, leave me, i implore,
do as i say and dont think of me,
cause... im telling you now, we just cant be,
i dont understand you sometimes, but thats okay,
i cant always have it my way,
This is my final goodbye,
but ill always love you, i cant lie.
I Am A Lioness
I am an alluring inviting fiery lioness
Many know my heart and my soul is truly uniqueness
My main attraction my long and lushes of tresses
As beauty within my well astonishing body of form
Into the wild-life habitat to which where I do thus roam
My sharp shiny teeth are as strong and bright as life
Whom I am and to many of mankind I cannot describe
Though my carnivorous characteristic traits I can’t hide.
I’m telling you now I’m the ravenous fiery lioness
I clearly thus roam and own this wild-life around and around
With my head held high in the vast land of this wilderness bound
I was minding my own business and oh no found I was trapped
Thus viciously was enraged and fiercely locked in a cage
Then never saw my beloved they put me on display
Fiercely was running away from it all for I frowned in dismay.

Monstrosity of Wind
Can you not feel that monstrosity of wind?
There is a harshness that’s doing a swoosh
The ill-fated thundering sound of a deep crash
Is it thrashing about without a care in the world?
No one can hear you talk with the thundering storm
I’m telling you now so be forewarned
Better hold on tight to your britches
Before they fall down into ditches.

hark!
the beach is calling my name!
there it is again!
i hear her when i clock in!
i hear her when i clock out!
i hear her in the center of my focus!
i hear here on every frickin break!
i'm telling you now, one day IMMEDIATELY after work,
i am gonna go straight to my old faithful!
i am gonna hit whatever number highway south!
i am gonna drive like the earned heart until my right foot goes to sleep!
i am gonna keep said sleeping foot on the doggone pedal like super glue stubbornness!
when i answer the beach's call, i am gonna park old faithful!
i am gonna walk ever so slowly across the beach access!
the instant my feet hit that wonderful sand, i am gonna rejoice!
the closer i get to the water, i am gonna rejoice some more!
at the first hint of the water's feeling and rehabilitative touch, i am gonna just wade!
at the point of full submergence, my attitude is gonna be....straight on up....DAMN THE WORLD!
....AND THERE YOU HAVE IT....AND BOOM....HERE I AM!
I never knew if you ever thought of me
So I kept my feeling to myself so for my own selfish
Reason I could keep you closer toward me.
But without warning you fell for another and easily
My heart was broken, yet and still I carried on with that
Fake smile.Never saying I love you, never telling you my
Growing feeling, before I knew it you left me alone in this
World, yes in this world which was so cold and heartless.
My skin grew cold when I never got to say what was always
On my twisting mind. When I smile I really cried,When I laughed
I really was frowning,When I would look at you looking in you eyes
And knew this was a feeling of disappointment since it been one-sided
Since the first time we meet but now you've gone and left me in a world
Which is so cold only you made it warm enough to go on.
If I only could have told you the truth would you had not been running away?
My heart aches my bones break my head numb,to think I feel in love
with a guy who knew only how to make me cry.Just exactly what I am I?
This was our farewell even if it was all one-sided just telling you now
I honestly always will love you
This is for the man I loved who feel's for another....and he passed away 09/29/12 saturday....May you rest in peace Saul and come back to me soon
My wife has been asking for a divorce
I'm thinking this time that she is right
It's been a long time in the making
And I know I've put up a good fight
All the time that we've spent together
Must now come to an end
It's true it's you that I cling to
But this is best if the relationship is to mend
Of course I'm a little bit nervous
And this will take time to adjust
But cutting ties is the best of advice
So cutting ties I feel is a must
I think back years ago to the very first call
I picked it up innocently enough
It didn't take long for you to take over my life
Where I fell under your spell, thinking it love
We've been side by side from that moment
I've held you tenderly all of this time
I'm finding it hard to let go of you
But it's best that we part and say our goodbyes
For all good things must come to an end
And we both had a good run of course
So I'm telling you now "Cell Phone" my friend
From you I need a divorce...
Who said being pregnant was easy?
Who said being pregnant was bliss?
I’ll wager my life that it was a man
Because they’ve never gone through this!
They’d never put up with the nausea
Or waking each morning to see
If they can stop being sick long enough
To face some dry toast, and tea
As for them coping with heartburn,
Wouldn’t they find that a thrill
They’d abhor the chalky white liquid
That cures it but makes you feel ill
And what about not being able
To fit into old comfy jeans
I’m telling you now, this pregnancy lark
Is definitely not all it seems
My ankles are thick
My rings are all tight
I’m lacking in sleep
From the kicking at night!
So, whoever said ‘pregnancy’s easy’
I’d like to have certified
And I wish that I could just meet them
To say to their face ‘YOU LIED!’
I tried to talk you through it
I tried to be kind to you through that cold hard exterior yet again
But you lashed out
Throwing shard and anger indiscriminately
I reached out my hand
And all I ended up doing was catching hail/hell
Here I am now
Ice lodged in a bloody palm
Flesh searing with pain
A wrist on fire
if someone would've told me that this all would've been in vane/vein I would've shook
that notion off
but now I see
You like to take things out on those who did not wrong you
You explode on them, flinging insults like shrapnel thinking
You can offer up empty apologies like band-aids to cover the wound
Before coming back and doing the same things all over again
You do not care
You think that because nobody is Jesus and everybody has flaws that that
Excuses you to act however you want to act and be above reproach
But I'm telling you now, YOU ARE NOT
Who do you think YOU are?
You think you can talk to and say whatever you want and disregard the
Feelings of those who only try to have your back
But no more
I'm sick of your ....
And I am done with you
You don't deserve what I bring to the table
and I'm leaving you out there to swim by yourself
You keep saying that you have no friends
And I hope that one day you'll realize that the reason that is
Is not because of anything they do
but because you don't know how to control yourself
In the forest lives a creature
That people say doesn't exist
But yet they look for it high and low
For some reason they just can't resist
He stands ten feet tall and covered with hair
Well at least that's what they tell
They say his feet are twenty inches long
And he has such a terrible smell
Of course you know that this describes
My very own mother-in-law
But that's a story for another day
That soon I'll share with you all
Now this thing that they call Bigfoot
Is probably just a family man
He goes to work killing small animals
And doing the best he can
He has never bothered a single soul
But yet they're hunting him down
Why don't they hunt for the tooth fairy
And prove that she wears a crown
Or maybe trap that Santa Claus dude
Who breaks in their houses at night
If they're gonna hunt for things not real
Then this would only be right
I'm telling you now Sasquatch is a myth
So why don't you leave him alone
And if he exists he's probably pretty cool
Trying to make it on his own
And if he's real he'll let us all know
But not before he's ready
But take it from me he's simply not real
Signed, your friend.....The Yeti
Think this should be easy
because its not all about you its about me
I dont post this for negativity
I can spit bars like they were made to sound
il have you fools dropping to the ground
So pick your jaw off the floor
im telling you now im hardcore
So before you all start geting jealous
Im letting you know ive done all your fellas
Im not just witty with lovely smile i own this place its all mine
So show me what you got down
il leave this place its my crown
She frowned at him, still dressed in his skins,
then cast her gaze upon sweet Nell.
“Why do you bring a savage with you?
Long, lost, little brother, do tell?”
Prent knew this would be a hard sell.
“She’s your niece,”he informed,”My little girl.
I came home so she could learn the ways of the world.”
Annabeth laughed, then she glowered at him.
“If only our father could see you now.
Consorting with whores, laying with squaws,
that’s how he figured you would turn out.”
But Prent would let no one talk down.
“I came here to settle, and do right by Nell.
If you don’t want to help me, I’ll do it myself!”
Annabeth sighed, and motioned them inside,
but the scowl never did leave her face.
“Mother, I’m afraid, was laid up by a stroke,
I’ve taken over running this place.
I guess you and your…child can stay.
But I’m telling you now, just so you know,
I’m not associating with folks in such ratty clothes!”
The days that came transformed them both
Into good facsimiles of civilized folk.
Prent wore waist-coats, Nell put on a dress
With a high collar that nearly choked,
So tight it was that poor Nell spoke:
“Daddy, daddy! It huwrts my neck!”
Said Annabeth,”Child, you’ll get used to that.”
Days went by and a tutor was hired,
to try and teach the irrepressible girl.
Annabeth grimly took it on herself
to impart on her manners of the world,
still scowling at her like a churl.
While Prent went to his brother Ike,
to see if the banker had a job he’d like.
But luck was not with him at the bank,
owned sixty years by his family.
He still had no skill for business talk,
or keeping the customers happy.
He found his spirits soon flagging.
Plus, when it came to finding a love,
it seemed he was cursed by Heaven above.
Some would walk with him if he called,
but most ran when they learned of Nell.
One was so shocked he’d married a squaw
that she loudly condemned him to Hell.
In truth, it was all just as well.
A mother, he thought, Nell needed to grow,
but none of these women would make that so.
A month passed, and things grew strained,
Annabeth seemed more and more disturbed.
“She won’t learn her manners, and only talks
about trapping, horses, and pet squirrels!
That’s no kind of talk for a young girl!”
She threw up her hands, and said,”I’m done!
There is no helping that little one.”
CONTINUES IN PART III...
O, please forgive me, honey
I behaved like a damned fool at your sister-in-law’s house
Last night drinking like a bull
O, please, please, please, honey
You got to forgive me once more time
I do promise you I won’t do it again
I was a fool by making such a show of jealousy because of that past
Lover be there with all entries and gangs of his
O, babe, babe, babe, babe!
I am not going to drink ever again just tell me you’re still loving me
As yesterday as before and when it done consistently attached
You would say it loud: I love you! I love you! I love you! I love you! I love you!
I was afraid to lose you again with so much drinks and rages
In front of this past lover showing himself up like a damned king
And driving that heavenly Mercedes-Benz!
I was telling you now it was anxiety and depression and predisposition to adult
Alcoholism with difficulty developing my identical love and passion and therefore
I am so sorry, and please, o, My Little Bee! You ought to forgive me this time
As many times we have done it before!
I lost my mind again
O, tell me before I kneel in front of you just as those drastic tears start falling
From me that you are still loving more than ever
I swear for Jesus I won’t drink ever again
I would go to the Church with you again and again and again and again,
but I’d send flowers to your sister-in-law in Florida as a way to confirm you
I have changed I am not going to drink ever again for God’s sake
You would see, o, honey, your papito has changed; you got to believe me
O, please, babe, forgive me!
O, forgive me! I yell you again
O, God don’t let me down; so God gives me strength not to kiss a bottle ever again
And don't let me to scream like a fool
O, baby, Sweet Baby! O, My Sweet Totorri! Your man has changed
O, please, My Pumpkin Pie, kiss me and let me in because your papito feels cold
Outside in this unfriendly porch and the moonlight is full and pregnant
I told you I was a fool and I tell you now forgive me, honey
This man, your man, is telling you the truth this damned fool
Really has changed!
