I love the wrinkles upon her face
Each one completes a story
Of a time when we were younger
Living life in all her glory

I love the gray hair on her head
Each caused by a new worry
That we conquered as a team
For which we need not be sorry

I love the age spots on her flesh
Each worn like a badge of honor
I’m aware of each new award
God selects to pin upon her

I love the creaks of her bones
When she bends to sit beside me
Each note adding beauty to the song
Played by our tandem life calliope

Crocuses crave caresses from the sun,
as soon as April showers melt the frost.
And as raindrops announce springtime's begun,
flowers sprout, and Winter covers get tossed.

Songbirds start serenading sunny days
while priming and preening their feathered chests.
And happily basking in the sun's rays,
Robin Redbreasts begin building mud nests.

Forests of trees deploy emerald leaves,
to capture sunbeams streaming toward Earth.
And with each ray a sprouting plant receives,
opportunities grow for life and birth.

Nothing in Nature is ever random,
sunshine and showers arrive in tandem.

Tandem Toys

The see saw of the mind...
distinctive in its play

The sandpit of creation...
imaginations stray...

In tandem toys are shared...
the broken ones we crave...

The depth of wilful notion...

our thoughts, our minds display...

We seldom impose our free will...

...The discovery in all of us...

The message the spark translate...

...the core to search in life...

The self we must believe...

The conscience it will stare...

inherited to the surface...

...to the surface this will rise...

the nurture, the self conscience...

...thoughts find life in stride...

...the derelict of thought...

...cannot escape the hide...

Tandem Toys Come Alive at Light

~~a fairy tale about Bobby Brown Hair, sleepy head
Tattered plaited grandmas made bed spread
Temptress grungy even made bear teddy out of black button eyes white plush cotton nose
Insides filled with cotton fold;
Settling on the bed next to sleepy head
Surrounded by antiques,
Blacky the cat, Lamby Poo
Carousel bunnies everywhere
Little gray mouse
Beating the drum
----------------------------------------------Tandem toys come a live at light

Tom tum tum
Wooden soldiers
Stand and march, marching on

----------------------------------------------Tandem toys come a live at light
How real is this
How real it is
Animals all around
When they talk and walk
As dark ghastly turns to light
When the lights pick rainbow colors
Tandem browns joys of toys abound
All around surrounds
Sleep I must
They I trust, in the light and the dark
Parents can’t see only me
This whole thing seems like a dream

Premium Member Singing Tandem

Projecting himself as concert prince
My special child, full of confidence
Serenades by his tunes’ preference
Enthralling my heart he does convince.

Using his left hand in mic*’s absence
He belts out with gracious persistence
Then prodding me by his insistence
I join him for a duet license.

While we clap midst rhythmic rebounds
Our voices blend in harmony rounds
Through action songs of melodious sounds
Expressing that gratitude abounds.

Singing with my son is great blessing
Blissful partnership of sweet bonding
Therapeutic as stress-relieving
Oh, wondrous way of joyous praising**.

(*abbreviation for microphone)
** Ezra 3:11 And they sang together by course in praising and giving thanks unto the LORD; because he is good, for his mercy endureth for ever...

When spring arrives, the blooms appear,
up-shoot toward bright heavens' sphere,
and sprinkle earth with wondrous cheer.

In early March, belle crocus sings
of rattling joy her presence brings,

when chased along by daffodil.
If paired with roses' scarlet trill,
the wind applauds in shivered thrill.

Upon her heels comes creeping phlox,
to climb among the treasured rocks.

Clematis vine boasts vibrant hue,
now seeks acclaim for ocean's blue,
and strives to catch the morning dew.

In turn, Miss Iris bares her face
and proudly joins the vernal race,

The lilies fight for share of praise
and hostas’ stately arms up-raise
as birds rejoice throughout the blaze.

Premium Member Betrayal In a Tandem

The two women sat near the coffin as if in a dream,
The notary shuffled pompously his files,
The women wondered what his scheme was.
The old man looked at them, his face all smiles.
The dead man was married to both all the time.
Had he been caught it would have been a crime.
He thought his success sublime.
He was a rich man and made many gains,
Half to each he left all without restrains.
Both looked at each other as if in chains:
Betrayed to extreme
Their thoughts all jumbled in unjust piles.
Alas that was his pastime.
May he go to hell, they thought, in fiery lanes.

Tandem of Life Forces

Things happen at their own pace,
and time,
we make them,
plan them,
and expect,
the outcomes,
but do they match,
ever expectations,
sometimes they do and sometimes they do not,
how many times did they in full,
can you remember sharp and fast,
life is causal,
and causes millions,
your computing abilities,
are limited to one or two causes,
rest of them are conjectural becauses,
all such factors are out of our control,
and still you merrily roll,
whether its bouquet or axe,
you continue to wax,
if you can somehow structure the random,
you would have all life forces running in tandem.

Premium Member Tandem Bicycle

(Can be sung to the music “Trees,”
 Lyrics, Joyce Kilmer)

I thought that I would never see
a bicycle to ride with three!

Back in the forties, I was pressed
to get on board and meet the test.

With mom and dad, one sunny day,
we took a ride on it for play!

The three of us in summerwear
and a warm breeze blowing our hair!

Six legs, as one, spun round and round,
as rubber tires whirled on the ground.

Oh, what a fun and happy time!
   Our bicycle for three- sublime!

San Reality

In yonder sights
tiptoe dainty desires
upon the svelte shimmers
of a sultry sunrise sway.

In yonder reach
a rousing rapture rages
against repressions,
the verve of an ardor
tapping against time -
and time -
again.

In yonder, lay
the blend of skins
tangled in delirium
soothed over sighs.

The yonder, sought,
seeps through glances
with thoughts to seduce -
a trail that simmers.

Tandem Memoriam

When time overcomes memory,
and vision retracts

The past sits in judgment,
its verdict exact

With yesterday’s reason,
tomorrow to blame

All hope left in ashes
—truth mourning the flame

the garage sale sellers could not get rid of the bike
It takes a certain person, two actually, said Mike
It was a tandem bike, they could not sell that day
Until a giraffe family came by and happily rode it away.
